Dream Drop Distance: High ratings from Famitsu, new scans

This week's issue of Famitsu included the rating for Dream Drop Distance, which will release next week in Japan. Reviewers gave the game 10, 9, 10, and 9 as scores, resulting in the cumulative 38/40--which is quite high! For a point of comparison, Famitsu gave Birth by Sleep a 37/40 and 358/2 Days a 36/40. So really it's just a point or two higher than previous titles, but still, good news!

Nintendo Dream: New Interview with Nomura

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance has appeared in the latest issue of Nintendo Dream magazine. The new article found in this new issue contains a new interview with Kingdom Hearts director, Tetsuya Nomura. A complete translation has been completed by Oishii of KH13.

- This time the story’s development doesn’t change the story so much to be numbered. Nomura’s final task this time was remembrance. The story in KHII was spread to unfold little by little, but as for all the foreshadowing retrieved, the sequel is looking to be a fun installment.

- There is a lot of meaning put into “Distance” and the distance taken in the next KH work. I think the player can feel they are somehow or other getting closer to the meaning as they play. In the end, whether they are successful or have failed will become clear. “Just as with ‘Drop’, there is a pattern of both of them dropping.” (trolololo) (laugh)

- I think what is a dream and what is reality will be clear in the end, but not everything that unfolds is a dream. (About the guests from TWEWY) Similarly to how I have assembled several of my FF projects, I wanted a surprise in a different form. With the extended Slide Pad Pro, you can control the camera movement with the right stick, but even without it it is comfortable to play.

- (About using the touch panel for Reality Shift,) It may be better to think of using your finger for the touch panel. The exhilarating feeling the Osaka team made is to the same degree as BBS’s. I think it wouldn’t feel as exhilarating if you couldn’t kick off the walls.

- Until now the actions in KH couldn’t be performed seamlessly. With the Free Flow Action, I think you can make clever use of the substantial gameplay. I want player to have fun testing out the various actions in the game.

- Thus far, I think the action RPG hasn’t been as dynamic. The story is also dark, and I hope even a person who has become interested in the series for the first time will want to play. To the TWEWY fans as well, because it’s the same staff, I think they can receive an intimate and touching feeling from the game.

- Remember, the next issue of Famitsu Weekly, which releases about 24 hours from now, is also set to contain an interview with Nomura! This will likely be much longer.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Eaters and their Perks!

Hey, there we have a few news on Dream eaters.

For starters, we have the Augmented Reality games. We all know the 3DS has the ability to show 3D images, and Dream Drop distance makes use of it in a very peculiar way, as these images show.

Kingdom Hearts 3D supports local wi-fi play and StreetPass connectivity. And we've also learned that Dream Eaters can also be used in multiplayer, in a game called Flick Rush

Looks like Square really wants to tap into the mon element now. But this is good, the aspect of raising cute creatures will bring in a whole new generation of gamers into the Kingdom Hearts series, and I believe that's what they're aiming for with this entry.

Dream Drop Distance - EU pre-orders available

I know that it's not really my custom to post news, but I just wanted to let everyone know. Square Enix Europe members today were sent an email regarding pre-orders for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.

Now, this clearly means that we'll get a release date soon, more importantly than the actual news of the pre-orders themselves. The prices are also really, really good. Â£25 is like ... $40 which is good for a new game. So I think yeah, this is really exciting.
