A podcast... on time!?

By the suggestion of the graceful and delicately understated @Knight of Fafnir , KH-Vids Podcast hosts @Misty, @libregkd, and @Calxiyn are joined by podcast alum @Llaverion for a discussion about preorders! We establish gamers' reasons for preordering, why & how publishers and retailers encourage the practice, and preorders that have disappointed us. Made to feel guilty over her preorder for The Order 1886, @Misty addresses some of the backlash the game has received in the weeks before its release, which leads us into a discussion of the nature of game review scores and the value of playing a game for yourself.

Afterwards we launch into user-submitted questions! @Graxe poses the offer of a suddenly enormous and controllable tongue and @Eric Luna asks us to take the place of a video game protagonist. We also answer a Table Topics question about our most controversial personality traits, which somehow leads into a debate about the relative pros and cons of wearing socks.

Finally we plug some community news and projects! The Top 5 Winter Seasonal has begun, where video editors can earn a pin, a special Wonderland prize, and a chance to be featured on our homepage! We also remind everyone of the opportunity to suggest games for future Spoilercasts through our topic submission form! Attention video editors: It's time for another round of our Top 5 Seasonal Spotlights! Read below to see what we have in store for our winter edition -- Word on the street is that the Queen of Hearts will be visiting us soon; could it be that she'll have some extra goodies in store for Top 5 competitors? Hmmm....

If you're new to Seasonals or need a refresher, here's how they work! It's simple: While during the summer we run the Top 5 as we have in the past, we take a break with periodic themed contests the rest of the year. Each season has its own competition with a corresponding theme for the editors to work with!

It's easy to participate! The contest works as follows:

• Editors have two weeks from the time of this posting to make and submit a video that matches the given theme.
  
• Post in this thread when you've completed your video (Unlike summer's Top 5, embedding on our Portal is not an automatic submission due to the specific nature of the contest -- simply posting a link in the thread is fine!)
  
• We will take a week following that to judge the submissions.
  
• The results will be posted the same way as the usual Top 5 on our homepage! As always, you can earn a Pin for placing.

Late podcast but long podcast

This week @Misty, @libregkd, and @Calxiyn host the first of many Spoilercasts, where we discuss a certain game in all its in-depth, spoiler-y glory! We selected The Last of Us, Naughty Dog's hit PS3 game (that has also been remastered for the PS4), which follows Joel and Ellie as they survive in a zombie-like infected world.

Starting from around 15 minutes in, we cover our general thoughts about the game, our favorite characters, the game's contentious ending, the Left Behind DLC, the upcoming movie, and the possibility of a sequel.

Not interested in The Last of Us, or you don't want to be spoiled for it? That's okay! You can skip ahead to 1:44:40 for our user-submitted questions! @Graxe makes us select between Soul Edge and Soul Calibur (which prompts @Misty to discuss her video game boyfriend, Kilik), and @KHGrl15 gives us the option to date a Kingdom Hearts character!

A podcast? At this hour? Damn straight!

This week @Misty, @libregkd, and @Calxiyn are joined by @Scarred Nobody for a chat about Let's Plays! Before that, we go over some Kingdom Hearts news & updates, and Cal updates us on some recent revelations regarding the Realm of Sleep in Kingdom Hearts χ (Chi).

For our main discussion, we talk about why people watch Let's Plays, why people do Let's Plays, and why parents just don't understand! Misty also brings up the gender divides in viewership and creation of LPs after watching a really enlightening YouTube video on the subject; it turns out, Google is determining your gender in pretty funky ways, and Cal's YouTube channel has a huge female following and she should be proud.

As per usual we answer user-submitted questions; @Eric Luna makes us choose a video game universe to live in and most of the answers will surprise exactly no one, @Graxe asks what's our poison, and @Knight of Fafnir gives Misty an excuse to gush about Life is Strange (and other games coming out in 2015).

Finally, @Scarred Nobody informs us that former KH-Vids member, @fadedphantom, is actually famous and will appear in the Kill la Kill dub set to air on Toonami this month! Once a KHV member, always a KHV member, so check her out as Mrs. Mankanshoku!

An unforgivably late podcast, just for you!

This week @Misty, @libregkd, and @Calxiyn are joined by staff guest @Karuta to discuss Microsoft's recent keynote that featured Windows 10, their newest operating system! Before we get into that, we have our regular segment on Kingdom Hearts news and updates; Tai Yasue has given his millionth interview and Square seems to be on a hiring frenzy for Kingdom Hearts III.

After that we summarize Microsoft's event all the new features coming to Windows 10 and the Xbox One. @Misty complains about the name (alternate podcast title: Whatever Happened to Windows 9?), we open the Start Menu vs. Start Screen debate, discuss the rise of the Windows Phone, express envy over the new Xbox One desktop app, and get all nerd excited for Project Spartan, which will finally put Internet Explorer in its grave. With the mention of Windows Holographic, @Misty and @Calxiyn launch into conspiracy theory mode and fear for their safety.

Finally we take on user-submitted questions! @Graxe talks about apples and body parts with us, and in absence of any other questions to answer, we turn to Table Topics: reveal our deepest and darkest fears, compose our ideal birthday dinners, and try to fix society.
