    Angel's breathing neared hyperventilation and she hugged her knees closer to her chest. She peeked through the blinds of her closet door and muffled a squeak with her hand.

    Angel shook her head, her hand still over her mouth.
    "Let me in."
    Angel shook her head again, her eyes tightly shut.
    "You don't like me?"
    Angel bit her tongue, the pain focusing her mind and dispersing the fear.
    "At least talk with me, Angel."
    Angel peeked her eyes open to look through the crack of the closet door. She quickly shut her eyes again when she saw the silouet blocking the light.
    "Come out, Angel. Let me see that pretty face of yours."

    Angel bit down on her tongue, tasting the small flow of blood.
    "I promise it won't hurt. Just open the door for me. I don't want to have to break it down."
    Angel carefully scooted closer to the back of the closet, as far into the corner as she could fit.
    "I'll give you a minute to think it over, Angel. I'll be waiting. Right. Here."

    Angel's eyes snapped open at Advent's touch. She stared at him for a moment, wide-eyed and breathing fast. She sat up and wrapped her arms around his neck, shaking and choking back sobs.
