Probably a stepdad or something, i.e. divorced and remarried parents.

And have a notebook and a Japanese book that I bring to school; I study them in my spare time. I write all of the characters from the chapter down, and then drill myself on them until they're memorized (i.e., write them each all the way down the page). Then I start on more.

After I learn those, I'll start with grammar.

 

thats wat i thought....and you would think i no wat a step-father is....considering i have one and all that....

but that is a good idea....about the books and studying in free time....i know a girl who taught herself japanese....

 

Yeah, it's REALLY hard though. I'm just learning the first ten characters, and they're a real pain to memorize. I really want to learn though, and since I'm learning all kinds of other language crap at school too (Braille, Sign Language, Spanish, French, Italian, and German... ><), I figured learning Japanese in my free time wouldn't be so bad. I don't care for the other languages that much after learning Latin...And I'm sorry to say that Braille is really, REALLY boring XDD...

The only one I can understand that well is French. This is my fourth year...The others, I've had 0-2 years of classes for...

And I reallllyyy don't like French XDD.
