Set ran his name through his mind as he walked over to the table of weapons. He picked up a small pouch filled with sharp looking blades, these became his throwing knives. Afterwards he looked at what was next to the knives, a pair of reversable swords. He took those as well with the scabbards they came with and tied them to his belt next to his knives. Instantly, he moved away from the table and stood near the back of the room trying to discover balance.

 

When Rho had glanced at her, she had caught his eye and a quick feeling of shock had run thorugh her. It was the second time she had this feeling, she didn't really like it. Then again, she had only said two words and that was to thank the professor. She hadn't really made herself audible like the others. No wonder he looked, she was probably an outcast already. Trying to lose eye contact with him to avoid the feeling again, she examined her knife. It was small and light, yet it looked so sharp that she didn't feel it was smart to run her finger of the blade. It was funny really, she was given a weapon, yet she was told that she was one. She put the knife away in her pocket and stood her ground while a third person had joined the group of people who had thier weapons​

 

Al nodded at Alice and watched as soon as everyone had their own weapons. He walked over towards the switch, turning it, making the table disappear. He then walked over to the group, looking down at the ground as he walked, trying to remember anything else he might have forgotten. He told them everything they needed to know so he might as well let them wander around Pulse. Al nodded his head and looked up at the group.

"Alright, well, I told you everything that should have been said. I'm letting all of you roam freely around Pulse. Although, I must warn you that if you run into guards, don't expect it to be a simple task to lose them." he said as he took a few steps away from the group. "Pulse is literally surrounded by guards so if someone were to want to escape Pulse, it'd almost be impossible. You'd be caught very quickly."

Alex listened carefully to Al as she stood by Alice, feeling some sort of pain around her head. Was it a headache or something else? She narrowed her eyes, leaning her head back a little to look up at the ceiling. The more she wondered what it was, the worse the pain grew. She placed one hand against her head, quietly wincing and taking a step back. What the hell is this? Before she knew it, she stumbled backwards, grabbing her head with both hands. She felt so much pressure and pain around her head, she felt as if she was going to die.

Alex dropped down on her knees, beginning to slightly whimper in pain. She held onto her head the entire time, holding back the urge to scream and simply tried to only whimper. She looked towards Al, seeing him simply stand in the same spot, with his hands in his coat pockets, watching what she was going through. She stared at him, narrowing her eyes as the color of them began to change to crimson. The pressure and pain around her head began to slowly calm down as Al felt something begin to happen to him as he stared at Alex. He turned around, already knowing what was happening to her and to him.

"What the hell did you do to me?!" Alex yelled, looking down at the ground before closing her eyes tightly.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine." Al simply said as he looked over his shoulder, making sure Alex wasn't looking at him anymore. Once he saw she was looking down, he turned back around, facing the group once more. "Don't be afraid if something like this happens to you." he said, directing it to the rest of the group.

 

Emmy had been inspecting one of her knives, the other one securely on her belt. She could see the reflection of her eyes on the blade, her irises were a hue of gold. She still didn't know what she looked like, she was dying to see her full reflection.

Emmy put the knife into the other sheath on her belt. As she turned around, she saw Alex drop to her knees with her hands clenched to her head in pain. Emmy took a step towards her, but saw the unconcerned expression on Al's face, and she stood frozen. What's happening? Why isn't he doing something?

When Al had finished explaining, Emmy couldn't help but think Don't be afraid?! How? But it made sense, though. Alex had been the first of them to wake up. What would happen to each of them now? She started to tremble at the thought of it.

There was something Alice didn't expect, and that was to see pain been thrust so quickly on them. Seeing Alex on the floor had triggered something like an automatic response as she went down to help, but there was something in Alex's eyes that scared her, they turned to crimson. Still knealing beside her, Alice looked up at the professor, who had seemed to expect something like this to happen, though all he said was that it was expected that they all may get it. Being the last to wake up, she realised that this may not happen for a while, and who knows what would happen if she was escaping the so called "guards of the leader". The thought made her shiver, she didn't want this.​

 

Alex opened her eyes, panting as the pain and pressure around her head began to fade away. The color of her eyes were turning back to normal as well. She slowly moved her hands away from her head, placing them against the ground looking up at Alice then at Al. It felt as if what she had gone through lasted for so long when it had only happened in a matter of seconds. Letting out a sigh of relief that it was finally over, Alex stayed down, lowering her head and hoped it wouldn't happen again. Once she noticed it wouldn't come back for a while, Alex stood up, keeping her head down. She somehow felt embarrassed after all of this even though she heard Al say it might happen to the others as well.

"Now that this is over, all of you may go now." Al said as he walked passed the group and towards a wall. Luckily, the palace had many advanced technology and passage ways. He placed his hand against the wall, making the small area his hand was over, light up soon followed by the shape of a door appearing. Al took a step back, getting away from the opening and facing the group once more. That opening led to the outside of Pulse.

"Again, be careful. And, if any of you wish to see me, ask me questions or anything, come back through this opening. Just look for a certain area of the wall outside. You'll know what I mean if any of you decide to come back." Al took one more step away, smiling. "Good luck."

Alex raised her head and looked around the room. Before she would leave, she wanted something to cover herself from everyone else. A jacket or something. She soon spotted a dull brown fabric on a table not too far away from them. She quickly walked over to it, grabbing it to see it was large enough to cover her clothes; it even had a hood. She quickly put it on, putting the hood on afterward, making part of it cover her eyes. As soon as she was done, Alex walked over to the opening in the wall and looked outside. As she stood in the same spot for a moment, she felt a breeze of air hit against her body. A smile crossed her face as she turned to look at the group before taking a step out and taking off into a run. She already knew everyone would head their own ways, so she might as well head off before them.

Deciding to not go to the palace for what she needed to do, Rosette was heading the opposite direction, going any where she might be able to get some rest or be alone. She was tired of everything that was happening. She's heard of the story of that little girl that lived before her. Rosette actually wished someone or something would save everyone. Kind of stupid though. she thought. She stopped walking for a moment, seeing something from the corner of her eye. She turned her head to see someone run away from the palace. "Who is that...?" Rosette looked towards where that person had come from and saw an opening on the wall. She took a step back and stood behind a wall, watching that area, wanting to see if she would see anyone else leave.

 

For a moment, Alice had believed that Rho was going through what Alex had, but it didn't seem as he was in as much pain as Alex, if he was, he didn't show it. The exit was opened to them, making it believe that their five minutes of solitude had ended. She brushed a hand through her hair, being a little nervous of what would happen.​

Should they go alone... or be in groups?

 

Set followed out of the passage and into the city. He quickly began looking at different broken objects on the ground and walls. After a few moments he had realised he wandered away from the others. It didn't bother him, it would be better for them to blend in alone.

Alice took out her knife and started to head out the door, but she didn't want to go alone. Two had already left, but there were still others with her.​

About thirty minutes later after leaving the basement, Melanie stared up at the large chandelier in the center of the ceiling in the hallway she was standing in. It was beautiful. It seemed to have been made out of solid gold with all sorts of wonderful stones attached to it like emerald, ruby, pearl, and other things she might not have seen since the last time she saw it. The ruler probably never looked or cared about that thing. To him, it was just to be used for decoration. Just decoration. That chandelier would be an enormous fortune to everyone else in Pulse.

Shaking her head, Melanie continued down the hallway and started to head in the direction of the kitchen. She wasn't allowed inside, but she heard that there was a food stash nearby that some servants hid to help out others that worked in the palace.

 

Angel disappeared through a window, then hit the ground running, a small determined smile on her face. She slipped through another small space, then stood up, looking around. Nothing...and no one. Perfect. Looking back behind her once, she started running again.

 

OOC: Not gonna be here this weekend, guys. D: Sorry! I'll catch up to you guys in a few days. I'd make a last post, but I don't have time.

OOC: Alright, Luna. I was kind of hoping we’d try to go as far as possible this weekend but we’ll try not to go too far while you’re gone.

BIC: Alex came to a stop as she turned around to look back at the palace. She had actually gone pretty far but it didn’t feel as if she ran too much. She grinned as she saw a few others leave after she did. She then turned around, looking around the area she was in. Everything looked...dull. She raised her head to look up at the sky. It was blue and there were white odd shaped things up there. Is that normal? It was even brighter outside than it was inside the palace. Is any of this normal? Alex lowered her head and crossed her arms. It was all way too new for her. “I don’t even think he explained everything correctly. I’m so lost.†Letting out a deep sigh, Alex decided to continue walking, figuring it’d be best if she looked around to actually get to know Pulse firsthand instead of having everything explained to her.

Rosette watched as she saw a few others leave the palace. Although, the one that had so many weapons had caught her attention. “Who are these people?†She stood behind the wall, continuing to watch that same area, wondering who they were. Her eyes suddenly grew wide, as a thought crossed her mind. What if they were people the ruler had hired to destroy Pulse? What if he was tired of the city and decided to send these people to kill everyone? Rosette lowered her head, placing both hands over her mouth, disturbed at the thought. Can someone really be that cruel? She stepped away from the wall, lowering her head. Why am I still here? If what I’m thinking is true, I need to get away if I don’t want to die. Rosette raised her head and lowered her head, looking back at the palace to see some of them were still there. She pressed her lips tightly together and clenched her hands into fists, quickly turning around, beginning to walk away.

Alice was about to walk out when she noticed something coming from underneath the table. It was another jacket, a lot shorter in length than Alex's was, but it was long in width, being to big for Alice. She looked over to Rho, who was still carrying an amazing amount of weapons. She walked over to him and offered him the coat​

Alice left the basement and was attacked by yet another bright light. "What's with all the lights?", she muttered, once again trying to fix her eyes to the light. When her eyes were adjusted, she looked around the area.​

 

Set wandered again, this time he found himself outside a small shack with a dimming light coming from the window. He peered in silently as he watched a small girl sit besides her bedridden grandfather. Set listened in on the conversation.

Jen sat watching her grandfathers slow breathing. His age had weakened him but he pushed himself to save his grandaughter from the full harshness of catering for the false king and his men. His eyes slowly closed as he rested. The moment he fell asleep Jen hopped off the stool next to the bed her grandfather was on and walked off into another room.

Set's emotions began to work once more as he felt sadness. He kept his eyes fixed on the old man's slowly rising and falling chest. Unknown to him he was witnessing death's work, however slow it may be.
