The war of Humans and Elves.

"I should kill you. You've taken souls and thats something no one could forgive," Nox said.

 

"I only take the souls of the evil." he said. "It's for the good of mankind."

 

Eva whimpered, feeling liquid drip down her hand. She pulled the knife out and tried to slash the ropes, but couldn't reach.

 

He hoped that if Eva got in trouble, she'd call out to his mind.

 

"And who the hell are you to decide," Nox snaped back.

 

"I never said I decided." he said. "The gods themselves tell me who my next target is. I don't expect you to believe me, since it seems you have your heart set on killing me no matter what I say."

 

Eva whimpered, then struggled a little more. Her face showed shock as someting snapped, and pain shot up her arm. She had broken her wrist. Merlock?... she tenatively reached toward his mind.

 

He heard her thought and his eyes widened. What is it Eva? he asked, concerned.

 

She sent him a picture of her situation. I'm...in some trouble.

 

Oh no! he said to her. Do you know where you are?

 

Eva shook her head. Somewhere in the woods? she guessed, wincing as her arm twinged.

 

I'll try and locate your mind. he said, searching. "I'd love to stay and chat." he said to Nox. "But Eva needs my help, so, cya!" He used magic to teleport away from him. "And for the record, I could have done that at any time." He ran off into the woods.

 

Eva tried to talk, but finally realized her mouth was gagged. At the rate the blood was rushing to her head, she wasn't getting enough oxyegen in her body.....

 

He flew in the direction of her mind and was almost at her.

 

Eva thought she heard someone, and stopped moving, listening. Maybe the person who had tied her up had come back.

 

Merlok reached her and said "Don't worry, I'll get you down!"

 

Eva nodded, mutely. She would have smiled, but she couldn't anyway...She wiggled slightly. I'm okay. she said quietly.

 

He looked around and sent a blue fire at her and what was holding her. But this fire was special, it was cool and only burned what held her, nothing else. Not to mention it was beautiful.

 

Eva held still, as she dropped toward the ground. Her heart was beating so fast. She closed her eyes, waiting for impact.
