"I guess so." Kaylee murmured, gazing up at him before looking back at the floor. "I know...But..." She looked around, noticing more guards and sighed softly, whispering. "I don't want to die here."

Sam looked at what the Director was doing and took a seat in a chair in front of his desk, looking around quietly. "So...What are you doing...?" He asked, once again quiet.

 

Eva woke slowly, her heart still pounding. She sat up, running a silent check through her body. No serious side effects....she shifted to a raven, then back, and smiled. "Good."

 

"I am trying to understand your personality and your drive. This will help me help you. Why did you join this organization?"

Larz was confused. why was everyone stuffing things into their head holes? should he fill his as well?

"What is this?"

Eva sighed, then got up. Apart from a on her cheek, and several on her legs and arms, she seemed to be okay. She stretched, sighing. Where to go?...

 

"This is where we get fed. The food sucks, but it's all we have..." He kept looking around. "Now where the heck is Kaylee?"

 

"Fed?" He heard that word before. that always meant pain from that hard in in his neck hole.

Shaking his head feverishly, Larz exclaimed "I don't like fed, it hurts."

"Maybe not." Kaylee murmured before standing up and stretching a bit. She heard Rek's voice. She motioned for him to come over with a small smile before sitting down again.

Sam nodded and crossed his arms. Should he be honest? Or tell the man what he may want to hear? He thought that honesty was probably the best way to go. He sat down and thought quietly.

"I needed the money. And the job was simple..." He murmured, ashamed.

 

"Ah, so you joined in the process of manufactured killing to earn a quick buck?"

Things were getting interesting. Never before had he met someone with such uninspired drive work in this facility.

 

Reiji awoke to his dark room, his vision blurred as he slowly got up. He searched his room to find all his pencil and paper gone.
He was defenseless.

 

Eva was passing by a cell door, her head full of busy thoughts. Getting an idea, she changed into a small bird, sliding through the bars, peeping curiously as she looked around the dark room. Good place to hide.

 

"Hurts? Maybe if you ate from a tube. But this doesn't hurt." Rek finally spotted Kaylee when she waved to them. "C'mon, I see Kaylee." He said as he pulled Larz over to the table she was at and sat beside her.

 

Sam nodded and sighed, putting his notebook down.


"My wife and I both got fired from our old jobs...And we lost the house...I didn't know what else to do. But this job...It was available..."

Kaylee smiled at Rek and leaned against his shoulder, yawning softly and thinking to herself for a moment.

"Hey..." She said quietly.

 

The director leaned back in his chair

"do you love your family Sam?"

 

Sam nodded and sat up straighter.

"Of course! I love them to death..." He murmured.

 

"what would you do for them exactly?"

 

Kaylee turned away from Rek to face Scott, nodding calmly.


"I guess we should. I'm just so nervous! But never mind that for now..." She stood and shook it off. They would be fine..."Let's go, I guess..."

She stared briefly, fearfully into his eyes for a minute before turning away and walking out of the Dinner Hall. Hopefully, Reiji would be there waiting.

"Anything! Anything in the world! Si-sir..." Sam stated honestly.
