Sam held back a gag, staring at the mess and stumbling back into the hallway. He put a hand over his mouth at the stench and shuddered a little.


Kaylee nodded, thinking to herself quietly.

 

"Get up boy! you need to see this."

 

Sam groaned and shuddered, making his way back to where the Director was. He put on a straight face, but grimaced soon after. The stench was horrible. He sighed and shook his head.

"Sorry, sir." He stared, eyes wide.

 

the manic broke its attention with the decorations it had made and turned towards the director, the triangle it the thing's left eye began to spin.

The director whipped out his gun and fired seven shots out of its eight barrels. to be honest, the girl from before was simply lucky. one of the shots was a dud. Kendrith planned on killing her as soon as their eyes locked. Maybe she had a guardian somewhere.

Three shots pierced the monster's chest two in the left shoulder, and one in each childish eye.

Nothing more than shredded meat, the manic hit the ground, dead.

Kendrith unlocked the barrel and dumped the empty shells. While putting in replacements, he began to talk to the cadet.

"They are monsters child. If we don't kill them they'll kill us. The same goes with all the other types. they are more dangerous simply because they can hide."

He spun the barrel and locked his gun into its prone form.

"We only keep them alive because they look like humans and some can bare to destroy a kid. We have to work past this illusion or we will end up like those three on the ground, or worse."

Sliding his gun smoothly into its holster, Kendrith turned around and waited for the novice to respond.

 

Sam did not know what to say. His body was shaking but his face was completely calm. He didn't know how he felt. Looking at the dead bodies around him and then back at the frightening Director, the poor man could only nod in agreement. It did not matter what he thought. Here in this facility, his opinion did not matter. And if he went against those in control, he would be killed. Sam would do what was asked of him in hopes that the next day he would once more be in the loving arms of his family.

He stepped out and waited for the Director to follow before closing and locking the door. He turned to a Guard with a nod, and the guard hurried off to notify the janitors.

What a mess they had made.

 

"So tell me, how long have you worked here sam? To have eyes like that in the face of death proves that you are fairly green."

 

Sam began making his way back into the office that they had once been in while going inside. He glanced behind him and stood near the doorway.

"A fe-few weeks, Sir." He stated, giving him his most official look.

 

"Come with me before you leave. I need to find something out about you."

Kendrith took a left and began to walk down a bleak corridor.

 

Sam reluctantly followed the man. He just wanted to go home. He shook his head and sighed, trudging behing the Director.

 

Kendrith pointed down the dark hall.

"This is to test your mental prowess. If you are what I think you are, then I can get you a far more favorable job."

 

Sam stood there for a while before nodding and walking into the darkness. A better job meant more money. Maybe he could finally by his kids that video game they had been asking for.

 

As soon as he stepped into the darkness, the air became so thick it seemed to crush sam. Soon, wailing, laughter, and banging on doors seemed to echo and cut at Sam like knives.

 

Shocked, Sam fell to his knees, holding his head. He cried out in agony, his face flat against the cold floor. What was happening? Was he dying? What was this pain? He cried out again, palms flattening against the ground. Tremors ran though him, and he gasped. His mouth opened and his eyes began to roll back into his head. Shuddering, gasping, he laid there, a broken mess.

voices began to dance through his head, countless voices, but only a few words

"What's this? A new toy for us? No, he no fun.
What are you saying, he make no bad sound!
Huh? What do you see?
I see little hims.
they make good sound, good colors too.
They need him don't they?
I don't know. He no act it.
Sad thing."

@Near: Don't worry about us, we're not even at the Orphanage. xD We're somewhere else. See, we are too fast. So until everyone else is on to save Reiji, Legion's char and Sam are kind of...Like, a filler, ya know? :3

Where were these voices coming from? Who were there? What did it mean?

Sam cried out once more in agony and held his head again. He felt like it was going to explode. He couldn't take much more of this. Pathetically, he attempted to crawl away from the sounds. He was going to break.

 

the voices sounded more comanding

"Hey you, do you live for your kids?"

 

Painfully, Sam nodded, rolling over onto his back and groaning in agony. He shuddered and twitched, gagging and rolling onto his side, panting for air.
