The Orphanage

The man's lips curled into a subtle smile.

"I cannot do that."

Kendrith pulled the trigger, the hammer snapped down.
There was a sickening click, however there was no boom. the director's gun was empty. All of this was just a game orchestrated from the beginning.

"If you resist again, you will suffer more than just fear. obey the cleansing, obey me. You may be a reader, but my will is stronger than yours, stronger than all of yours."

Holstering his gun, the director began to walk out the door. He expected the cadet to follow quickly and promptly.

 

Sarah went limp, hanging there from her bonds and sobbing loudly, her hair covering her face once more as she did so.

Thank you... She thought quietly to Ren before allowing the sickening sleep to take her over, hanging there loosely, blood dripping from her legs and down from her ankles.

Sam saw the director leave and straighted up, walking after him quietly and looking back a bit at the girl, Sarah. He bit his lip but followed the Director.

"Thank you, sir."

 

"If she resists again, kill her. If the cleansing simply fails, put her in a cell that is next to the manics. Not many last like that. Speaking of which, I heard a guard ran into that area and died. apparently he couldn't handle the mental pressure."

 

Rek moved away from Larz as the woman walked up to talk to Elevir. He grinned as he watched her walk off. "So many pretty women here, it wouldn't be such a bad place if they weren't so mean..." He looked back at Larz. "So, you okay now?"

 

Larz looked up.

"no, I'm larz remember?"

 

While Seth was walking he hand his hand on his head as if he had a headache

Ren started at the girl for a while and simply turned away and walked showing no emotions

 

Sam nodded slowly, walking with the Director.

"That's right...The Manic...Ugh." He shuddered a bit and continued next to him. "Now what, sir?" Sam asked quietly, gazing around nervously.

Kaylee stopped and looked at him. "Actually...No. We need a plan, don't we..." She murmered, leaning against a wall.

"Is their a manic in one of the cleansings? there is something I need to do."

 

Elevir paused for a moment on the way out of her cell, hearing screams and begs inside her mind, from somewhere not far away. Her eyes changed slightly, more violet than grey.​

'...please! I won't try anymore! I'll be a good girl, I'm begging you!...'​

The voice terrified her to the point where she started shaking as she walked. Her pace quickened considerably, and when she reached the Orphanage cafeteria she was almost gasping for breath.
Why did they have to take me here? What did I do wrong? I never hurt anyone...
Her eyes closed tightly. Is this what it felt like when one wanted to cry?​

 

"Just one...He's asleep now, though. I'll show you to his room." Sam said, nodding and walking down the hall quietly. He sighed and looked back at the Director. How could he have been so calm doing that to that poor little girl? He shook his head. He wasn't trailed to care. He was trained to Obey.


Christina opened up a few more cells, moving her hair back behind her shoulders again and glaring hard at the prisoners. They trudged slowly, fearfully to the Dinner Hall. She couldn't help but smirk. What impudence. Couldn't they see that if they all just worked together, they could get out of here? But that was what power was. The ability to cause irrational fear to others. To stop them from being themselves. To steal away their identities, their hope, their lives.

Christina laughed, her head leaning back as she held her stomach. Oh, what a glorious thing it was.

 

the director followed close behind.

"I saw that you know. You want to know how I could do what I did."

 

Sam looked at the Director and hesitantly nodded.

"A little." He stammered, holding his notebook close and pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

 

"you think they are actually humans don't you?"

 

"W-well...They are...right...?" Sam mumbled quietly, almost afraid. "Different, yes but...Human...?"

 

"They are not human they are murderers. bring me to the fresh manic and I'll show you what I mean."

 

Sam nodded once more and lead the Director to the room of the Manic. He stood to the side after opening the door and took another deep breath.

 

ooc could someone give me a recap? ._. and since I don't think I'll get my gifted person into this soon, can I have a guard as well?

 

The director stepped inside and saw the carnage.

two cleansers were dead on the ground, their throats slit. A third was curled up on the groud and was mumbling nonsense. blood spattered the wall and the manic was staring at the smears like a child at an aquarium.

"Do you see this? this isn't human, this is a monster. In fact, this is the most least threatening gift out there."

"No... No, you're wrong." Elivir responded out loud, just hoping whoever it was couldn't hear her. She didn't even want to touch her food; instead, she looked around. Either she was early or very late, and the few orphans that were there were far in between. Had the Orphanage program done this to them? Maybe to her too... She hadn't been given a chance to converse with anyone in the... wait, how long had she been there?
It's been at least four days... she thought.
