The Orphanage

Eva pounced on the guard at the back, slashing with her claws. The other one stabbed her with something, but she ignored the pain, lashing out at him with her teeth.

 

Wolfe stepped from the cafeteria with a glass of water. She was simply minding her own buisness from now on; she couldn't be bothered fighting. Her eyes were shiftingfrom the floor, to up ahead, then back to the floor again. the light was reflecting off her water, and showing an image of herself looking up at her. She didn't like it.

Eva leaped off the guard, her heart pounding. She crouched, then sprang at another guard, killing him. The blood smell was strong, and her animal instincts took over. She fought and killed two more, but something stabbed her through the side, making her collapse. She winced, her energy drained as she shifted back to human form. She couldn't breathe without it hurting and placed a hand on her side, feeling blood seep through. A guard kicked her, making her wince. At least she had killed some of them.

 

"My name is Sam, sir." The guard went up a flight of stairs, pulling out a small notebook and reading through some things quietly.

"Name: Sarah Brodevidge.
Age: 8-years-old.
Gift Type: Reader. Advance class." He said before putting the notebook back. He took a deep breath. "She's screwing with our heads. She even managed to get out of the room, running down the halls screaming for help with a needle still in her arm. We caught her and put her in another room. She's still struggling."

Sam looked over his shoulder at the Director for a moment.

 

"So what are her restraints? have you restrained her properly? I don't want to become a child's plaything. I've had enough of that during the early years."

 

Ren walked into the room "allow me to handle this problem" Ren said

 

Eva growled, then slowly got up, looking at the soldiers. One grinned, then kicked her face with his boot, knocking her down. She closed her eyes, feeling liquid drip down her cheek. Unconsciousness slowly claimed her. She only hoped she would be okay when she woke up.

 

"We've restrained her, yes. But it doesn't seem to be doing anything. We even drugged her, and still, she's unconscious but is messing with our minds." Sam looked nervously to Ren for a minute before looking back at the director.

 

"Very well, let me in. I don't have access to individual cells, well except one."

 

Seth looked at Kaylee and then at Scott and sighed

Ren looked at the guard "I want to meet this girl" Ren said

 

Sam nodded and unlocked the door slowly, pushing it open and then quickly moving to the side against the doorway. He was afraid and his face showed it, though he tried to be casual. He crossed his arms in front of him and stared straight ahead, giving a proper salute before excusing himself for a moment.


Inside of the room, Sarah lay strapped down. Her arms were tied tight to the bed, as well as her wrists being handcuffed and bound painfully to the posts. She was blindfolded, her breathing shallow and her head was hung low, blonde hair falling into her small pale face. Her legs were tied down with leather straps, spikes on the opposite side digging deep into her flesh, blood running down her thighs. She had tears dripping from her face as well as sweat and she painfully lifted her innocent, pained eyes to the Directors.

Kaylee couldn't help but smile back at the man. It was strange. She felt as light as a feather while beside him, her heart quickening in pace and her face surrounded by a constant glow of happiness. Kaylee nodded and had the urge to hug him tight to her again. She resisted, though and looked on ahead.

"Alright...I'll...I'll trust you." She murmered, more to herself than to Scott. "I'll trust all of you." She said again, louder this time and starting to walk again, shaking off the nervous feeling.

 

Years of suffering had stripped the director of all compasion. The death of his late wife took a sever toll on his heart. unholstering his gun, he pointed the barrel point blank at the child's head.

"I hope you know what you have done."

 

Ren looked at Sarah and walked up to her and looked down at her. He immediately began to read her mind "your tricks won't work on me" Ren said

 

Sarah looked up at them, fear filling her eyes. She shook her head a little, looking at Ren.

Please, help me... She thought calmly, though the thought passed quick and frantically. I don't want to die...I just don't want to die...

Her eyes filled with tears and they pooled down over her rosy cheeks, her lip quivering and her body shaking. She groaned in pain, the spikes digging deeper as she squirmed.

"N-no..." Her voice was soft and sweet. Almost sugary, even. The pure essence of innocence. She just wanted to live.

 

"You are wanted for murder little girl. Stealing your own mother's life in cold blood. We don't take kindly to that here. Here no one will forgive you for what you have done. Then again, we aren't as evil as you so we tried to cleanse you of your evil ways. However, you tried to escape. Do you know what that tells me?"

Overridden by fear, Sarah squirmed even more, blood pooling around the bed now and soaking the sheets. She cried out and sobbed, her small petite body convulsing as she did so. "N-No! I didn't mean to! I didn't mean to!" She screamed. She shuddered and opened her eyes wide, staring at the Director.

"Pl-please! I won't try anymore! I'll be a good girl, I'M BEGGING YOU, PLEASE!" She screamed. Her hands made fists and she shook even more. "DON'T!" She screamed again, her eyes still staring into his.
