so the may the 4th sale and free comicbook day gave me some p. cool stuff but of course sales and *free* attract all kinds of people who don't normally shop there and since the store is a hole in the wall it was so crowded. i cant shop in crowded areas.
so i went back to my car, planned what i was going to buy, and then ran in and got the stuff and payed and ran out.

The line was too long for me to buy anything at the shop I went to. They also didn't have the issues I was looking for I discovered because I think I'm the only human on earth that actually bought the Pathfinder comic. On the surprising side, Terraformars and All You Need Is Kill are coming to America. One in translation and one in adaptation.

that's rough. i would have put my stuff somewhere and come back later.
I have the same thing with Hacktivist. My shop only ever stocked 2 of each issue and I was talking to my shop's owner and he was telling me how I was the only person he knew who read it, and that the one other guy reading it dropped it after the first issue. And that's a shame because it's really good.

Also he was telling me how the writer for Batgirl #30 is apparently from Richmond (where I live) and was at one of the stores signing copies. Wish I had been there for that.

Walking home at about half two/three last night after a party, two foxes ran across the road being chased by a cat.
Big foxes. Two big healthy foxes.
    Puny little cat.
One of the best things I have seen in a while.

I'm terrible at taking breaks, ugh.

With that said, I wanted to come in and say I beat Dishonored. First playthrough, low chaos ending... my god. That game... is an inch away from being a masterpiece. It's... so... close. But it's held back by not embracing its own design and not making the player value the lives of those Corvo is confronted against. It got CLOSE. It even had a masterpiece level moment, but it just couldn't pull it through.[DOUBLEPOST=1399157645][/DOUBLEPOST]

I've also heard that the plot has some very predictable twists that weren't executed well, but I haven't played the game yet so I can't quite judge.

I mean, the narrative is barely there. It's hard to say it's important by any means as it's literally just an excuse for the things going down. The lore, the setting, and the metanarrative are the real stars of the plot department Yes, the big twist is predictable as can be and I saw it coming from the second I met the characters, but they spend about a total of three minutes on narrative so it's hard to be invested in it.

I'm starting to think people only care about narrative because a lot of games these days are so similar and they pray the strong narrative will differentiate it...

Anyway, the game's an inch away from being a masterpiece, but it's forever shackled down because it doesn't embrace its own design. Everything is super fleshed out though, which is nice. The characters feel alive even if they're two-dimensional. Strange mix, but it works. I can go more into the game aspects and how it's a step away from greatness, if you like.

Yu Gi Oh cards were printed at an awkward size so they could sell more card sleeves.

    well i mean
    yeah
but from my understanding ygo has a bad reputation among more serious card game players.
given that it has a show and the show affects the game to an extent there's clearly more marketing involved than others.
