    I'd have to say Pat's wrong when he says there's not story in I, II, and III. There is in fact a story to all of them (I really love III, man), it just happens to be a lot looser than you might be used to with modern stories.
    Again, play III, but you'll have to play the DS version. Mostly because the original III never actually went stateside >_>

    VII, VIII, IX, or X. Probably VII first; it was the first of them to receive updated graphics, and thus the worst-looking of the bunch. Might make it hard to push through if you play any of the others first. Which would be a shame, 'cause it really is great, overrated or not.

    Or you could just play IX because it's da bes.

    He is probably used to current gen graphics though, so it's probably harder to switch directly to something with terrible graphics. Rather than from something with just outdated graphics.

    No I'm playing them on the system they came out on. And graphics don't really phase me. Well except for III-V.​

    So you have never played any current gen games? Well then it's alright. And good on you, the graphics shouldn't matter, I agree. Don't understand what you meant with "on the system they came out on", admitedly.

    Yes, it was turned into a horrendous MIDI soup. But there might be audio mods too, dunno, I never looked into that stuff. If not, emulating or playing PS1 games on a PS3 can also improve the graphics.

    It's depressing that the first Final Fantasy has received so few votes. It easily has some of the best music of the series(and the most remix-able). II isn't getting any love either. ;-;
