Save the Heroes

Lightning let out a sigh of relief. The Dream Catcher must be gone. She put one of Annaly's arm over her shoulder, taking Annaly next to a wall so she can rest. Lightning leaned against the same wall, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Too much in one day."

 

OOC: I apologize to everyone, but I cannot keep up with this. I dunno, but I just can't. I'm out. Sorry.

 

Void closed his eyes, shaking his head and turning around, beginning to walk away. "I don't have time to fight someone like you." he said jumping up onto a rooftop of a building. "Next time I find you, he won't be there to stop me from killing you." he told Sarah. And with that, Void disappeared.

Sarah dropped down on her knees, putting her hand over her chest and letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." she said, looking up at Holden.

OOC: It's fine. I understand.

 

Annaly rested for a few minutes, and then she turned her head to look at Lightning. “There’s a few Dream Catchers that do that to me. It’s always the same ones too, they don’t like it when people have similar powers to them I guess…†she blurted out quietly. She closed her eyes too and tried to relax every muscle in her body, one by one they slowly started to relax themselves. She was grateful to Lightning, she didn’t want to experience that empty feeling again and she saved her from it. “Thank you,†Annaly said to Lightning, she let a weak smile spread across her face. “Think you could help me up? I’m going to try patrolling some more, I keep getting this feeling something is up but I can’t pinpoint wha is…â€

 

Lightning opened her eyes, looking at Annaly and cocked her head. She got off the wall and reached her hand out in front of Annaly. "You're welcome. But, I have to say, you're not in the state to even go around patrolling. Seeing as how weak you are right now, A Dream Catcher could take that advantage and this time, actually take complete control."

 

Annaly grabbed a hold of Lightning's hand and pulled herself back up on her feet. She still felt a little woozy but apart from that she felt fine. "Trust me, I've been in worse condition. I guess I should go home now..." She looked around the area, she kept getting a feeling something was wrong but she couldn't figure out what it was.

 

"Well...yeah. Head home." Lightning said rubbing the back of her head and turning her back towards Annaly. "Whatever you felt, it must've been a Skull. Probably, probably not. We've dealt with too much today either way."

 

Annaly went to walk away but a smell caught her attention. It was blood, and it was coming from Lightning's hand. "Before I go home, please let me check that injury on your hand. It looks like its at a risk of infection." Annaly looked down at the ground, her cheeks were slightly flustered. "At least let me clean it up anyways." she muttered.

 

Lightning looked at her hand, then at Annaly. She closed it into a fist as she looked around the area. She didn't sense anything. No Skull, no Dream Catcher. She dropped her hand down to her side, walking towards Annaly. "Okay. By the way, I'm Lightning."

 

"Nice to meet you Lightning, I'm Annaly." She smiled shyly. She reached out for Lightning's hand and turned it palm-side up in her own hand. She got a piece of cotton in a pouch on her belt and started to wiping the wounds clean, when she was done she put some dressing on and wrapped a bandage around it to keep it on. "Just keep it clean and it should heal up in a couple of days."

 

Lightning looked at her hand before looking at Annaly. "Yeah. Thanks." She rubbed the back of her head with her other hand, looking around the area. "So, you're a Hero, right?" she asked even though she already knew the answer.

 

"Yeah I'm a Hero." Annaly muttered. "Because of my powers, the Dream Catchers are always trying to destroy me, I think they don't like that fact that a Hero has similar powers to themselves." Annaly twisted her foot around in the ground, it slid around slightly due to the grime that was building up in the cracks.

 

"I know someone who's in the same problem as you. Except, she has the exact same powers." Lightning said crossing her arms, taking a few steps forward. She stared up at the sky, making sure she wouldn't suddenly sense something. She was injured enough for one day. And, she was positive Annaly was tired after everything that just happened.

 

"I can assure you Lightning, I am not tired. What happened today is nothing compared to what happened to me a few weeks ago- wait, someone that has powers exactly like a Dream Catcher? I never thought that was possible." To tell the truth, Annaly was slightly surprised, she had never known or heard of someone like that.

 

Lightning looked back at Annaly, raising an eyebrow. "Really? Huh. Well, yeah, there's a Hero with the same power. It's been quite a problem several times. The Dream Catchers have actually gone after her to join their group."

 

Annaly stretched her arms and let out a yawn. "Well, I'm going to go finish up patrolling. See you next time." She turned around and sprinted down the road, the sun was starting to slowly rise in the distance, yet another night had been and gone.

 

Annaly stopped in front of the door to her house, she pondered on whether she should go inside and have a well-earned rest or just lay down on the front step and have a nap there. After careful deliberation she shrugged her shoulders. "It's not like anyone will care." she muttered to herself. Annaly sat down on the cool cement step and rested her head on the railing, then she closed her eyes and had a nap.

 

"Yeah." Lightning simply said beginning to walk away from the area. I should head home and get some rest. she thought to herself rubbing the back of her neck.

Sarah raised an eyebrow, watching as Holden walked away. "Uh...Sure thing...I guess." She scratched the back of her head as she rose to her feet. She dusted herself off and began to head the other direction. That was weird.
