Save the Heroes

Sarah growled, knowing she was being followed. She looked over her shoulder, seeing a man with his head down and just a few feet behind her, following. She narrowed her eyes, taking off into a run. Maybe I could lose him. She looked over her shoulder, seeing nobody chasing after her. She stopped running, looking around the area. "That's weird. I thought for sure I was being followed." She turned around, seeing the same man standing in front of her. She slightly stumbled back, startled to see him there.

Void smiled, taking a few steps forward. "Hello." he simply said. He put his hands behind his back, eyeing Sarah, making sure she wasn't about to take off running. "I know who you are."

Just as the pain felt like it was going to make her head explode, it disappeared. With a sigh of relief Annaly sat up only to find herself writhing in pain again, only this time she was howling in pain. She dug her nails into the ground only to find herself crushing it into rubble.

 

Gin yawned, for there was nothing for him to do. He could just sit around all day and draw his stupid drawings, or he could go out into the town and risk being found out and hunted. He stood up from his chair and went to the kitchen to make a snack.

 

"You're a Hero, aren't you?" Void asked, his facial expression changing as he put his hands down to his sides. He took another step forward, reaching for a sword. "This will only take a second."

Sarah's eyes grew wide. She took a step back, clenching her fists. Damn it. She quickly turned around, taking off into a sprint. Damn! Lightning's going to be mad at me. She turned a corner, entering the poorest part of Manor again. She looked over her should, seeing Void chasing after her. "Damn it!"

 

Annaly's howls started slowly turning into growls of protest, she tried to fight back the Dream Catcher, she had to fight it back. She didn't want to experience being a Skull yet again. Annaly let out another howl in pain but she managed to keep herself in control for the time being. If someone didn't find that Dream Catcher soon she was done for.

 

Sarah was already beginning to get tired. She felt her legs become heavy the more she ran. She closed her eyes only for a brief moment but ended up tripping over a rock. She fell on her hands and knees, panting. Sarah then felt someone pull on her collar, causing her to turn on her back. Standing above her was Void. Her eyes grew wide, staring up at Void as her heart was racing.

Lightning looked around the area, hearing the screams of someone. "Who's..." She stood still, feeling chills go down her spin. She lowered her head and took off into a sprint. I know what this is.

 

"Someone.... help me..." Annaly panted. She didn't give in yo the Dream Catcher, she refused to give in to the Dream Catcher. Annaly crawled over to the brick wall of the building's side and leaned against it, she used the wall as her support and made her way out of the alley and into the open where not so much damage could be cause.

 

Lightning continued to pick up her pace, running as fast as she could. She knew exactly what was going on and she needed to get to that person's aid. Damn them. Damn those Dream Catchers! Lightning turned a corner and stopped running as her eyes grew wide to see Annaly was the one that needed help. Her?! She cursed under breath, running over the Annaly. "Hey!" she quickly said, putting her hands on Annaly's shoulders. How can I do this?

 

Annaly was only vaguely aware that Lightning was running to her, everything started to blot out in places and she ever so very slowly started losing control of the fight. "I don't want this to happen to me again..." she whimpered, her voice was helpless and pleading.

 

Lightning stared at Annaly, trying to figure out what she can do to save her. She cursed under her breath, knowing that Sarah could possibly be the only one to save her. "Listen! You have to listen to me. I may not be much help but you need to fight this. Fight against the Dream Catcher!" she told Annaly. Wait a minute...Again? Lightning's eyes grew wide. She's been turned into a Skull before but fought back. She looked down at her hand, thinking that maybe her power can be of some help.

 

Annaly clung to a nearby lamp post, she dug her fingers into it as if it were a knife going through butter. Inside her mind was like a catastrophic war taking place over and over again. She tightened her grip on the lamp post even more - to the point that is almost snapped in half - and tried to concentrate on kicking the Dream Catcher out of her mind but that was easier said than done. 'Listen! You have to listen to me. I may not be much help but you need to fight this. Fight against the Dream Catcher!' said a muffled voice. Who ever it was, they were trying to help her, she was sure of that.
She stared blindly in Lightning's direction, she remembered helping her earlier that day. She heard the idea in Lightning's head and nodded. "Just do whatever it takes to get me under control. Don't worry about hurting me, I'll manage." she muttered.

Lightning nodded her head, taking off her glove. I hope this works... She dropped her glove on the ground, putting her hand just a few inches away from Annaly's forehead. Lightning took a deep breath, prressing the palm of her hand against her forehead. "Please work!" she muttered. She looked at Annaly. "You're going to feel your body go numb. Just hang on!"

Annaly took in a sharp breath of shock as the numbing feeling coursed dthrough her body, everything started to feel heavy, even her eyelids which she tried to keep open. She started to slowly fall to the ground as her mind drifted to a neutral state. She hit the ground with a soft thud and her eyes slid shut.

 

Lightning watched Annaly as she fell to the ground. She slowly removed her hand from Annaly's forehead, grabbing her glove and putting it back on. Did it work? She wondered. She put her hands on Annaly's shoulders and lightly shook her, trying to get her to wake up. "Hey." she called. "Open your eyes."

Sarah stared up at Void, feeling her body begin to tremble. Fighting wasn't her best skill. She simply stayed there, frozen with fear. Damn it. Move. she told herself. I have to move.

"I'm surprised you're not fighting back. You must be very young or very stupid." Void said reaching for his sword. "Oh well. Doesn't matter. You're going to die either way."

 

Leon took a quick shower, the machine purified water stopped his transformation. Afterwards he returned to his clothes, trench coat and hat before leaving to the streets again, he only works on weekends leaving him with enough free time to stop crime, skulls and more. It was mostly his father that got him to it as his father was once a hero. On the streets he looked for any signs of trouble.

 

Sarah slowly looked over her should, staring at Holden. "W-Who are you...?" she stuttered. What am I saying? He's most likely here to help me. She looked back towards Void, seeing he was looking at Holden as well. Sarah took that chance to quickly get up and run behind Holden. She took a step back, preparing herself to run away.

Void removed his hand from the hilt of his sword, putting his hand down to his side. "Who are you? Her guardian?" he asked, grinning.

 

Annaly didn't move a muscle, she didn't know how to in the numbness she was in. All she could do in response to Lightning's words was by letting out a quiet groan.
