Square-Enix Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Announced

Character models look good as per usual. Desert reminds me of the Dalmasca Esterland in FFXII...that game had so many deserts jfc.

 

Do you plan on getting this game and if so why and when? Explain anyway if you are not.

The game, though I'm not a great fan, looks very well done, and the focus on Lightning is maybe a bit unneeded since we've had a story revolve around her, still it offers improvements that look appealing gameplay wise.

 

The French site FFdream interview the development team in Tokyo. They haven' t published the whole interview yet, but they say Lightning Returns will feature some form of Coliseum, more or less similar to the one featured in FF XIII-2.

I'm sort of leery going back into Final Fantasy considering how badly the other games got reviewed. But if this game turns out to show promise, I might buy it. I don't know yet.

 

Can't wait to play that game. XIII was my first FF and will always be one of my favourite games (close behind Kingdom Hearts as my favourite one)

I really don't know what to think of this. Its better than the mullet, but...lol. City of Pleasure? I think of the Honeybee Manor from VII and really hope we get some cross-dressing. I know it won't happen, but I can dream!

I dunno, this game seems to be getting weirder and weirder that I can't be bothered to follow it. I'll play it but I'm not excited about it or anything.

But if there was some Fang...

What I'm gathering so far
Lightning turns herself into a crystal to basically become a tombstone. Except she wakes up in the future anyways, so that was kinda pointless
In this mysterious future , everyone is immortal, Noel has been reduced to mind-controlled rival, there's STILL no word on Fang or Vanille, there's a goth lolita version of Serah running around, and Snow became a business man Riku who runs what sounds like a fantasy version of Vegas and...
Uh..
What happened
I mean, hey, remember that first game? The one where Snow was RIDICULOUSLY self sacrificial for Serah, to the point of obsession? And now she dies and he gets a bit miffed and decides to take over Las Vegas?
I mean, XIII-2 took a turn ofr the silly... but this is... bizarre
and I'm kinda excited to see where it leads

This game actually looks good. So glad they got rid of that cringeworthy combat system of XIII and XIII-2.

 

Isn't it the same combat system but slightly tweaked?

 

Well I hear you can now jump, run around and block during battles. If you want to call that slightly tweaked then sure, otherwise not so much in my opinion anyways.

 

Naw the gameplay is REALLY different now
It's kinda like Crisis Core, actually, but with lots of jobs and an ATB system. It's pretty much an action ame at this point, and it looks really cool
