Kara nearly jumped as ice went speeding past her and towards the heartless. Fire earlier, then lightning, then regular rocks, and now ice? Being on the battlefield was proving to be more dangerous than she'd thought, but she was starting to wonder if it was the creatures they were fighting that were more dangerous, or the abilities of her comrades. Nonetheless, she had to have some faith in them. If they couldn't work together, then there was very little point in actually fighting together, and Ria gave the impression that they'd been somewhat of a pain for him to deal with. If that were true, and it turns out she was wrong and she really was meant to be the leader (she was really back and forth on the whole idea of it) then she would have to try and unite them as a group. As one unit, with as little chaos and confrontation as possible. That wouldn't be too difficult; she didn't like chaos and confrontation anyway, getting rid of it was something she would normally strive for naturally. At least, it wouldn't be too difficult if it weren't for a certain cocky, overcompensating individual. At this thought, she shot another glance at Cerdic, wondering just how he had managed to stay alive for so long.

When the blizzard spell actually hit Ria, Kara gained a surge of motivation. They could do this, this fight was definitely able to be won. She'd picked up on the fact that when Ria had actually been hit, an attack hadn't come towards them. That was good, for if they could remain on the offensive then the battle shouldn't be too difficult. That only left one problem; how exactly were they going to hit Ria? As much as she wanted to simply dive in there and break through their foe's defences, she wasn't nearly experienced enough to do that and she highly doubted that their enemy would make the same mistake twice. Then again, he had been talking to himself earlier, maybe each of the personalities within him would screw up somehow? One could only hope.

Brandishing her keyblade again, the girl with the number I pin took note of Cerdic, impressed that he was still standing. Much as she hated to admit it, he seemed at least a little capable. And despite his bravado and ego, he was still a member of their little group, which meant that she had to try to help him get out of his situation. However, right as she was about to make a move to help captain cocky, she saw out of the corner of her eye a shadow leap onto one of their members and start to attack her. Making a quick dash over to the girl, she bravely took out two of the faster approaching heartless on the way, before dealing with a third one with a clumsy yet effective slash right across the chest. The moment she got next to the girl, she whacked the heartless on the head, stunning it momentarily before doing her best to push it off of Daeni and onto the ground, where she then stabbed the small creature of darkness. As she wiped her brow with the sleeve of her top, she turned to look at the girl she had just saved. "Are you alright?" she asked, concern in her voice.

Watching the chunk of ice fly through the swarm of heartless, they soon vanished and with it, any sort of protection that the broken keyblade wielder had. Grinning triumphantly as the blizzard spell had struck Ria, let out an "ah yeah!" While the broken keyblade wielder didn't actually seem all that phased by it, the effects of the attack and the implications behind it were clear enough. When the heartless that had vanished reappeared, it seemed as though the swarm around them was far less in number, a large chunk of them being missing. As such, it lead Marley to the conclusion that Ria was quite clearly the weak point in this swarm, and so all they had to do was keep pummeling them! It was a simple enough solution, though, Marley was unsure of how open they would be in the coming attacks, and they weren't exactly able to just infinitely spam their spell over and over again. As such, Marley figured that the most direct way to get to the broken keyblade wielder was the simplest way. To just cut open a large swath through the rest of the creatures of darkness and barrel their way through. Gripping their keyblade tighter, Marley braced themselves, grin still on their face as they ran into the heartless swarm.

Not being the first one into the swarm that was charging at RIa, Marely took note of the rather angered looking Alder as he had managed to cleave his way through four of the shadows in his path. Not one to be outdone, Marely ran at one of the shadows as it seemed to leap towards them, claws ready to dig into them. With a swift horizontal swing, Marley had managed to intercept the heartless's body with their blade, before completing the swing and sending the small creature towards another of its kind. As the two shadows had collided, the already injured one exploded upon impact, with the other stumbling back only to then be vanquished as a thrown keyblade smashed into it. Recalling the keyblade back to their side, Marley then quickly rushed forward, striking with an upswing towards one of the grounded heartless, knocking it clear into the air. Tossing their keyblade after the creature, Marley then looked to see another one leaping towards them. With a grin on their face, Marley's hands tightened into knuckles as they thought of trying to mimic what the silver haired kid had done. Standing their ground, Marley punched at the heartless, their fist colliding with the creature with solid impact before sending it hurtling into the rest of the swarm and disappearing upon crashing into something else. Looking at their hand, Marley said,
"man that is a fun way of dealing with them."

Well then. Seeing as how X obviously couldn't hear a word they said, he was quite obviously a waste of time to talk to. Unfortunately VI seemed to take the worst of the man's ignorance, having been actively put in danger because of his ignorance. She didn't say a word though. She just went back to the fight. For a brief moment, it seemed she might have been in danger, but I took care of it. So he left that to her, and shifted his attention back to the fight. So far, IX had made the most progress by far. They used the opening provided in the wall of heartless to attack Ria and vastly reduced the size of the horde in the process. It seemed that VII was also of a mindset to directly attack the horde at it's core. IV seemed to still be having some difficulty, but at least now he had a weapon that could allow him to fight at close range. It was safer than than throwing rocks at least: They could sneak uncomfortably close while the boy was picking up and aiming projectiles. He was still with the group though, so he could trust them all to stay safe.

Breaking into a dash, Chrys, slashed several heartless as he passed, damaging several, but not quite destroying any. Seeing his path ahead was blocked, he cast another stop spell ahead of himself. Seeing that they successfully froze in place, Chrys flipped Light Seeker so that he could use the teeth and hook them onto a shadow without halting his movement. Jumping forward over another incoming crowd of heartless, he slammed down his keyblade, and by extension the shadow, as he landed. Catching a lone heartless underneath him. Both of the abominations vanished into black smoke, the likes of which Chrys was honestly surprised hadn't completely polluted the area at this point.

Continuing forward, he attempted to stay near VII in order to provide support against the onslaught of heartless, and if the older man should need him to, he could help him clear an escape route. It would be unwise to let him battle so far out from the others by himself after all. Slashing down a couple more enemies with his keyblade in reverse grip, Chrys would every so often take a quick look around to assess the situation and make sure everyone was still doing alright.

Ria made more of a determination to keep the power going, and during this round, there was no glitch to be seen. Rather, Ria pointed his hand in the direction of The two running towards him [Alder and Marley] and the heartless swarm that had originally carried Cerdic off went after the two. Only this time, these two were isolated from the rest of the group, and they were both hit pretty hard by the heartless.

The other group of heartless swarmed around the rest, containing them separately than the other two. Ria broke off the barrier and pointed their keyblade straight at Alder, since Marley seemed out of commission, "Since you're so insistent on coming for me. Come on then. Maybe I can beat the information out of you, dog."

There are a total of 138 shadow heartless.
Each shadow heartless takes 5BP to hit.
Each BP is worth 20 words.

Ria's health is currently at 150/200.

You have a total of 20 BP.
Round 5 starts now. Round 6 begins in 2 days or until all players have taken their turns.

Having dealt with the first batch of heartless that had foolish approached him and his mighty driftwood, Chrono went to turn his attention towards the next batch of shadows, instead he caught glimpse of both Alder and Marley running towards Ria and only to be separated form them by a horde of heartless. Despite being only armed with a piece of wood, Chrono was fully prepared to charge at that specific horde and start bashing against them. An attempt that would make for some slow and questionable progress. Instead his progress was halted by a separate swarm of heartless that appeared between them. "Don't think...this will... stop me!" Each break was followed by a quick smack of the heartless horde that prevented his progress. The driftwood lasted well against the moving shadows it struck, but it wasn't going to make any dent in it any time soon. He'd manage to actually get rid of of one shadow out of the massive horde. Shame that the piece of wood couldn't just cleave its way through all of the shadows, granted if it could he wouldn't really have need for the keyblade that he may or may not be able to summon right now.

The swirling horde was given another quick hit before backing away from the horde. This was getting him nowhere fast plus he had some guest to entertain. Another set of three shadows appeared behind him, poised to attack at him once again. This old song and dance that they were doing here was getting old and needed some way of spicing things up. Unfortunately the one thing that he could think that would do the trick well, he's already tried summoning it twice and neither times have worked out in the slightest so that option was still out. Maybe he should asked one of the others just how it was that they had summoned their 'keyblades'. Chrono's train of thought was interrupted by one of the shadows leaping towards him. Fortunately it had still went and missed him, but was still a clear sign that he needed to focus on the task at hand. Tightening his grip onto the piece of wood he swung it at an downward angle towards the three shadows and being able to strike down the three in that single hit. There was only so many times that he could do that before getting tired of it and this fight was starting to drag out. Hopefully it would near its end soon.

Cut off from the others it had been just Alder and Marley to make it through to Ria though the latter had been knocked unconscious by the swarm of heartless that attacked just as they arrived. Alder held on but just barely, staggering forth as he used his keyblade as a crutch panting as his eyes narrowed on their attacker. "Coward!" Alder growled through gritted teeth as he stepped forward, ripping his keyblade from the ground and stumbled forward as he tried to hold his balance despite the pain of the cuts that had dug deep into his legs. As much as he wished to hold on to concepts of honor and valor in battle this coward obviously no value in such ideals and no amount of acting tough would change the odds to his favor. Charging headfirst in his current state against someone who had barely been injured was a foolish idea that would only cost them the battle.

There weren't many options at the moment. Alder's eyes shifted towards Marley once more before returning his gaze back to keep track of the stranger. Maybe once they knocked him out they could get answers but until then he needed to play it smart.
"If I can't force you to fight fair then I'll just even the odds." Alder lifted his keyblade to the sky and an instant later a green spark of light sprouted from the tip of his weapon bathing him and Marley in a healing aura to restore their strength...at least somewhat. There. At least it would be two against one(and the horde of Shadows that surrounded them). This time Alder gripped his keyblade in both hands as he adjusted his stance to keep the tip of the keyblade pointed at Ria. They still had no idea how skilled this wielder was with his own weapon but now was as good as time as any to find out just what this person was made out of. Maybe literally.

"I'll go in first, try to circle around to get at his back." He whispered towards Marley. An honorable tactic? Not really. But neither was pitting ten against hundreds of Heartless. Without any warning Alder lunged forward to make a stab at Ria's center of mass before quickly stepping to the side to keep just barely within blade's distance of his opponent. "You're fighting a losing battle. Maybe you should consider giving up." Alder spoke bluntly towards the stranger before stepping in again to make a swift cut towards Ria's right arm.

It felt like time had slipped away from Relli. One moment they were fighting, the next, everything was different. It was like their eyes had slid out of focus for just a second, and then come back to realize ten minutes had passed. Was this another side effect of the memory wipe? It was unnerving, to say the least.

Relli shook their head, shaggy blond hair falling in their eyes, and pinched the bridge of their nose. They had to keep it together, just for now. They shoved their hair away from their face again and looked around, taking stock of the situation.

They were winning, it seemed, but barely. The fight was dragging on, and they wouldn't be able to keep going like this forever. One person was even down for the count for a moment until Alder cast a healing spell. Speaking of whom, it seemed that both Alder and the person he'd healed had somehow gotten closer to Ria, and were now battling, separate from everyone else. Relli wished they could remember how that happened.

But, that was enough speculation for now. Now was a time for action. Relli jumped away from where they'd been standing, and back towards the group. They landed next to Daeni, and brandished their keyblade out towards the heartless.

"Pst...Relli....look at Ria. You can sometimes see a spot where things can go through. Makes me think there's some kind of a glitch going on here," Daeni whispered conspiratorially at them. Relli whipped their head around to take a closer look at Ria, squinting through the battle. Every so often, a gap would appear, and everything would be fuzzy, but through the gap was an opening. Perhaps a ticket to their victory?

"You're right. That could be our chance," Relli nodded. "D'you think Alder and that other person have noticed?"

Instead of an answer, however, Relli was met with a yelp from their friend, and they spun around again to find Daeni on the ground, trapped under yet another shadow. Relli gasped and began to dash over to rescue the elder girl, smashing their keyblade through a few more heartless along the way. Before they could get close enough to help, however, the girl with the first pin whacked the heartless away and stabbed it, freeing Daeni from underneath it.

"Are you alright?" the girl asked Daeni, just as Relli came to a stop beside the pair.

Well all seemed to be going well. He came out of the horde unscathed, his teammates weren't totally annoyed that they didn't get the chance to play the epic hero before he had save himself, and the heartless numbers were slowly decreasing. That was good, it was all going well. Cerdic took a moment of the peaceful time to fix his hair and jacket which got slightly displaced thanks to his epic moves. He wasn't totally upset but it, after all he still got to show off, and that was all that mattered. Soon enough everyone would be swooning over him, not just the desperate one.

Fix his hair... perfect. His coat.... perfect. Awesome pose... definitely perfect. Okay now he was goo-
"Hey what is the big idea?! Why are you giving them the chance at all the glory? I deserve it far more!" Cerdic shouted as he noticed that heartless separated him from Ria. On top of it the he-she thing, and the dog were the ones in a position to be the epic hero. "I already got the epic part down." He shouted out after Ria through the heartless like it would actually make a difference. Cerdic seemed not to be happy about it at all. He wanted to be the hero of his own story, and being stuck on the sidelines didn't work for him at all.

"Let me through and face me like a real man! Stop being a coward and hiding behind your wall of black creatures. You are pathetic!" Cerdic shouted as he charged forward, not worrying about wrecking his perfectly grouped self this time. This was personal now when he got left out of a battle. There was a battle cry as Cerdic charged forward and started to slash at the heartless wall to see if he could make an opening big enough to dive through and join the battle on the other side. Soon the heartless started to drop off, two... then four... then he stepped back, examining the the hole that he was creating to see if it was big enough to jump through yet. Well maybe it was best that he took a little more time before breaking through the hole. It wasn't that he thought he couldn't do it, but he would throw the dog a bone, so to speak and give those two a chance to pretend to do something before he jumped in and did all the real work.

Before an answer could be obtained from the girl, Daeni, things had taken yet another turn for the worse. It appeared that Ria had seperated them from Alder and Marley, and challenged the two to a fight. This was very, very bad. While she'd seen the ability of her two comrades, she'd also seen a small part of what Ria could do. If he had access to illusion magic, he could be a very dangerous combatant to take on in the open. "Alder! Marley! Be careful, don't let him mess with your minds!" she called out to the two keyblade wielders, though she couldn't be sure whether or not they could hear her due to the various sounds coming from combat. Seeing two heartless leap towards her, she did her best to block the strikes and then swung in retaliation, dispatching them both.

Looking down at Daeni, she was a little hesitant to move before she knew the girl was okay. Thankfully, Relli came to a stop near the two of them, giving an opportunity for Kara to move. "Please take care of her, she could be hurt" she requested, concern evident for this person she barely knew...or at least, that she thought she barely knew. With that being said, Kara dashed forward, eager to get back into the fight; not because she craved bloodshed or violence, in fact she hated both, but because she had something that far surpassed her desire for aggression and that was her resolve to keep others from falling to the darkness.

The girl moved quickly, as though she had done this a thousand times, and who knew? Maybe she had. Soon enough, she arrived at the edge of the swarm of heartless that had Alder and Marley encircled, with one fewer heartless as she arrived and struck out with her weapon and took it out. She stopped for a moment, hoping the glitch would happen again, but nothing seemed to be happening at the time and so that plan wouldn't work. She'd been right about their foe not falling for the same trick twice. Taking a step back, Kara did a bit of a run and she attempted to cut straight through some of the heartless, but at the last moment she hesitated and was scratched quite deeply along her right shoulder. It would've been right along her chest, but as much as she'd hesitated she had still been able to move slightly out of the way.

This wasn't working. Brute force wasn't going to cut it, not when she had no practice in it. She thought back to how the fight had gone thus far, and had an idea. Holding her keyblade above her head, she imagined sparks coming out of it and shooting into the sky, before returning as thunderbolts. She'd seen some kind of lightning magic before, but how to do it was another thing. Apparently not like that, given the lack of any kind of reaction. "Come on....lightning, lightning!" she called out, but nothing happened. Another heartless approached her, but was taken out swiftly with an aggravated strike of the keyblade. I know that I know this, I can feel it. I've done this before, so why isn't it working now? She thought to herself, panicking slightly.

Although she was saved, Daeni was far from the danger. In fact, after Kara left, Daeni reached her hand out in an attempt to keep her from running. Daeni was scared and hurting badly from the attack. Her body felt torn up and she had no way to tell if she was really bleeding or it just felt like it. No, wait, she wasn't bleeding. It just felt that way from the heartless' darkness that seeped onto her body as it was slain. Daeni managed to sit up with a little help from Relli and she looked at them. "I...I'm sorry....I don't think I can really do much right now." she said, sniffling and whimpered. Breathing hurt and Daeni was scared to move right now. If only she could do something to make her pain go away.

"Cure...." she mumbled, sniffling again. In her hand, a little bit of cure magic sputtered out, touching her body and causing her to blink. "H-Hey...wait...Cure...that...that's a spell I think. That's magic and I think...I think I can use that to help myself?" she said, pressing her hands against her. "Ok....Okay....Cure!" she called out. Nothing happened and Daeni almost wanted to cry. "Please...please....work..." she begged, pressing harder and feeling the pain intensify. "Cure!" she tried once more. It didn't work and she started to lose faith. "I can't...I can't..." she gasped, coughing a bit. "I can't even cast Cure..." she said. Suddenly, the magic came out of her hands and poured into her body. Daeni started to feel better and attempted to stand up. She looked to Relli and smiled. "Thank you for coming to help." she said, an unsure expression on her face. "I'll be...fine now."

She may have felt like sitting down longer, but Daeni knew she had to fight. She couldn't stay there laying down and doing nothing. "I don't think I can do this much longer...." she whispered, the tears that didn't fall earlier now threatening to fall. She looked around and saw the rest of them fighting when she saw Marley on the ground, surrounded by heartless. "No!" she gasped out, trying to make her way over to Marley.

As she shuffled, Daeni was met with two heartless. She swung at them and found the one was gone in only a few hits. Probably one that was hit earlier by something. She looked at the other and started a combo on it, stopping to block an attack from it. "Get off!" she yelled, finishing it off.

The outer perimeter around Marley was dense with heartless and Daeni didn't know if she'd make much a dent, but she decided to try. She managed to defeat two more heartless in the meantime, but she stopped to catch her breath. She still hadn't recovered from that earlier attack and it was showing on her face.

Rushing through the swarm of heartless, Marley and the Alder person seemed to be making some good headway on the fast track to getting to this Ria person. However, as they kept pressing forward, the heartless swarm around the broken keyblade wielder seemed to take on a far more aggressive and offensive stance towards them. All of them starting to rush towards them, with not a single one of them seeming to vanish into thin air as they normally would, Marley knew they couldn't dodge this large scale of an attack. Summoning their keyblade back to their hand, the wielder tried to defend against it, but no matter where the blade was, there was simply a shadow in every area it wasn't. Having the claws raking across their body, Marley stumbled a bit finding it hard to stand until finally they couldn't take any more. Falling face down to the ground, Marley couldn't manage to stand up as their consciousness started to wane. Their hearing was starting to fail them as the world around them started to go black, barely picking up at all anything the people around them were saying until Marley couldn't move any longer.

However, this moment of being helpless was quite transient, about only a few seconds at most, as an oddly refreshing wave of energy pulsed over them. As they felt their senses start to return to them, Marley's hand momentarily twitched as they attempted to get a feeling of the area around them. While they heard Alder's plan for what to do against Ria, they didn't quite hear it all that much. As they started to pick themselves Marley brought their keyblade and swiped it into the air, mimicking what Alder had just done and sending a small wave of healing to mend both the wounds of Alder and themselves. Gritting their teeth, their body starting to feel much more up to the task of fighting, Marley yelled out,
"I'll mess your covered up face right good you heartless summoning uh," Marley struggled trying to think of a way to end the insult, but failed to finish the thought before just saying, "ah forget it." With that, they simply started to rush forward, circling around Alder so as not to actually hit him. Gripping their keyblade tighter, Marley leaped at Ria from the side, aiming to get a solid strike with their keyblade at the cloaked figure.

Unfortunately, he had not gotten as close to the fight as he would have liked. Ria's attack had sent VII and IX flying. He had honestly missed that IX was there. Not sure how. He also wasn't sure how the violent wave of darkness had completely missed him, or how he had found himself in his current position: near X as the two of them looked on at the fight from the other side of a writhing crowd of heartless. Maybe it was just one of those days for everyone, Ria included. Edging away from the other slightly (They weren't all that close together, so he would just try not to be noticed), Chrys did his best to take out a few more heartless. One fell easily enough with a Quick Blitz, but with the others... he kinda felt like he was having a hard time of things. His thoughts were interrupted when an attempted attack missed his opponent and nearly caused him to take an attack to the face.

Yeah. It was an off day.

Ria attempted to parry the two's attacks but failed pretty miserably and took the hits. They swung on back and... well it certainly was disappointing.

But the heartless swarming in on the other party members certainly was not disappointing. And ended up dragging Relli into the hoard.

Chloe, buffeted by Shadows for a second time, sank to her knees, leaning heavily on Glimpse of Darkness. She gasped for breath. How was Ria controlling those Heartless? Yes, through darkness, obviously, but how?!

Slowly, she managed to pick herself up. At least she could take comfort in the fact that their control over them was fractured, much like their Keyblade. The Shadows' coordinated attacks were spasmatic and jerky and incomplete. Like they weren't altogether there. That led Chloe to believe that Ria was an amateur at this controlling technique, whatever it was. Which meant it could be exploited.

Sure enough, Alder and one of the other Keyblade wielders had forged through the swirling Heartless and managed to catch Ria by surprise, causing them to unwittingly drop a significant fraction of the summoned Shadows. Chloe stifled a cheer, but then a new swarm of Heartless barreled forward to block the two from the rest of the group, and Chloe remembered where she was. Her eye caught a Shadow coming towards her and she lunged forward to slash through it. The little creature didn't stand a chance, dissipating instantly.

Chloe gave the battlefield a quick scan once more. Cerdic, as usual, was trying to show off, hacking his own way through the swarm to get to Ria, shouting something about glory. She rolled her eyes as far back as she was able. Whatever. If he wanted to be an idiot, fine, let him. He’s a grown man…well, from a strictly physical standpoint, anyway. Back near the center of the group, more of the Keyblade wielders were grouping up—offhand she could name Relli, Daeni, and Kara. And one of them looked to be hurt.

Chloe locked onto the group and started hurrying over. The Heartless weren’t going to stop and give them a break just because one of them was hurt. Sure enough, a Shadow leapt into Chloe’s path and took a swipe at her. She leaned to the side, avoiding the strike, and swept her Keyblade back cleanly through the Shadow. She looked back at the group in the center, and saw that Daeni seemed to have recovered enough to stand and rejoin the fight. Chloe slowed her approach, seeing that help was needed less desperately.

And then a new swarm came and swept Relli away.

Chloe shouted and took off after the horde. “Hold on!” she called, hoping Relli would hear. She pointed her Keyblade at the writhing mass of Shadows as she ran, aiming carefully, then bellowed, “Fire!” A plume of flame shot from the Keyblade and struck the horde; Chloe saw two Heartless burn up on impact. Hopefully she hadn’t hit Relli…

Speaking of things nearing their end, the piece of drift wood that Chrono was currently using as his weapon had snapped in two. The reason being that two shadows had managed to catch him off guard. It was only barely that he was able to defend against the attack with some scratches being dealt to him. The piece of driftwood had taken the brunt of the attack and as a result snapped in two. Once again Chrono was left weaponless and this time wasn't near anything that he could just up and grab in order to use as a weapon.
"Not good, really not good." While the option of boxing them was actually there, Chrono doubted that he would get as lucky as he did before with his first punch. His back was really against the wall at this point and at first glance there didn't look to be much that he could do to get out of said situation. Suddenly and without warning one of the shadows jump towards him, poised to deal some damage to the white haired teen. Chrono closed his eyes and braced himself for the attack by holding both of his arms up and crossing them over one another. This attack was going to hurt and he knew it. Oddly enough he never felt anything from the attack, in fact it actually felt like he was holding something in his hand.

Slowly his eyes opened and he saw the remains of the shadow float right past him and more importantly, he saw the key shaped object in his hand. It took his brain a few moments to process what was in his hand, but when that light bulb went off in his head, Chrono couldn't help but to smile.
"Finally! I have a keyblade of my own! Yush!" Accompanied by fist bumping the sky, he cheer due to his own success. During this time he forgot about the heartless that were before him and looked to his keyblade and noticed that there was something different. Why was the tip pointed back towards him? Did he somehow mess something up in the actually summoning of his keyblade or was there something else he'd hadn't remembered yet. Thinking about this he did manage to recall something, though it wasn't about his newly obtained keyblade. Instead it was about a journal. Random timing for him to remember that and nothing else, but beyond that realization there wasn't much else about that journal he could remember. He would have to worry about that another time. Despite being unsure of the current orientation of his keyblade Chrono trusted his gut as he went to attack the shadows himself. one quick horizontal slash took care of two of them and the last one was dealt with by an upward attack. It felt good to finally have a keyblade of his own now.

As the duo had gone to strike the broken keyblade wielder, they were expecting some kind of resistance from them. After all, they seemed to be pretty confident in their strength, having declared themselves to be far stronger than the group at present, and being able to summon and control this many heartless was likely no small feat. Besides, they also had a keyblade of their own, so that must've been they were some kind of combat ready. However, both Marley and Alder's strikes seem to go completely unhindered. It looked as though the cloaked figure had seemed like they were trying to defend themselves, but with how easily the attacks hit, they might as well not have been to begin with. After getting the strike in, Marley then saw that the person was going in for a counter attack of their own. Still expecting something big, after all they might've been strong just not all that fast, Marley put their keyblade up to defend against the attack, bracing themselves as the hit struck and...."huh?" The attack had hit them, giving off a slight sting but compared to the heartless that had been attacking them prior, it felt like minnow to a shark. The cloaked figure looked like they had tried their best in the attack, yet, there was just not really anything substantial there.

Realizing that there was no follow up to the attack, Marley's prior frustrations seemed to turn into some manner of joy, as a grin started stretch across their face. "Well if that's all then-" before they could finish their statement something ran through their head. Instictively looking back, Marley looked to the blonde girl, then to the one being carried through the swarm, wondering just what that was. No. Now was not the time to be lost in thoughts. Instead, it was the time to pummel this heartless summoner. Blood boiling, adrenaline pumping and a burning sensation to defeat the opponent before them, Marley's gripped their keyblade tighter, going back on the offensive and saying, "my turn!" Bringing their keyblade down in an arc, Marley let down one slash. Following this up they brought the blade in an arc following the same path back upward, only to then finish this chain of attacks by holding their keyblade like a bat and striking in a horizontal swing, slightly pivoting on their foot as the attack finished.

Cerdic was starting to slow down a little bit. So many heartless, why were they going down so slowly? It was almost painful at how slow it was all going, but he couldn't stop. Even as his limbs ached, asking for a break from the tedious work, he would not stop, not until he was able to break through the wall that separated him from the real battle. He was not going to just sit there and let other people steal his glory, when a little hard work would be all it took to eventually break through, even if hard work meant sweating. He could still look good sweaty, not as good, but he was sure he would pull it off somehow. Just his aura, in nature of being him, Cerdic was automatically attractive to woman... and perhaps some men. If that was the case he wouldn't judge. He wouldn't go for it, but he wouldn't judge. If he met another guy like him, he might have troubles claiming he was straight too.

Ranting aside, the heartless decided to be little pests again by picking up and carrying someone else off.
"Ha! Great job your guard dog is doing. Where is he now? He left you for someone else!" Cerdic called after Relli as they were taken away. It wasn't actually anything against Relli, it was more supposed to be another hit at Alder. Cerdic did actually know if Alder could hear him, but it didn't matter that much to him. His world didn't revolve around that dog or anything, though it was fun to pick fun at him when the chance presented itself, like it had. All joking aside however there was still the issue of the heartless. While thankfully none were coming back as they defeated them, but there was still a lot to deal with, and that was not overly fun. He would much rather be taking it easy and letting the others fight, but if he did that then they would think that gave them power over him, and he couldn't have that.

The hole he was trying to create had been filled in with more heartless. Unfortunately, unlike inanimate objects, heartless were living, breathing things, meaning while they might not have been all that smart, they could figure out the basic, fill in holes if we can, technique. Well that was annoying, he supposed he had to start from scratch and work faster this time. However since he was beginning to tire out, Cerdic didn't actually go much quicker at all. If anything he was making less progress now than before. He was still killing heartless, and a small hole started to form again, however it almost seemed to be filling more quickly in his eyes. Perhaps the heartless were just learning, to Cerdic it was unimaginable that it could in the end be his fault, it was never his fault. That was not allowed. At least in the end he did kill some heartless, even if it wasn't many.

Relli helped Daeni to her feet slowly, with their one free hand, and stood by her as she sniffled and wiped at her face. They felt for her, really they did; she'd never fought before, sucked into a battle for her life with no knowledge as to why or how, and now she was hurt. They knew exactly how she felt. They had once been in a similar situation.

But now was not the time for crying. Now was the time for lifting your blade and fighting back, and Relli was all but about to tell her so when they were slammed hard in the side by a wave of crushing darkness, sucking the air out of their lungs. They couldn't breathe, couldn't even gasp for air, and for one terrible moment Relli thought they might have broken a rib or crushed a lung. They gaped like a fish out of water for a long second before finally managing to heave in a gulp of air, only for their senses to be engulfed by the rancid scent of darkness.

Everything else rushed back to them in an instant as the wave of heartless carrying them lifted them into the air and pulled them away from the others, separating them, as the shadows continued to grab at them with their grimy claws, reaching for their heart, and Relli smashed at the closest ones with their keyblade trying desperately to keep them away. That was the wrong move, it seemed, as the hoard seemed to take offence to that.

As soon as a fourth heartless fell away into the air, the swarm shifted, and again Relli felt claws grabbing at them, before the world began to fall away as the swarm slammed Relli downwards with all its might, down so quick that they couldn't begin to process it, and smashed them into the hard ground. Relli's vision went white as the air was knocked from their lungs yet again, and pain began to travel up their spine like electricity. The shadows fell away, presumably to go torment someone else, leaving the young prince coughing and gasping for air in the dirt. Slowly, they rolled themself onto their side and pulled themself into a sitting position, using the keyblade for balance. Their vision swimming, Relli pinched the bridge of their nose and attempted to stand, still leaning on the keyblade. They couldn't give up. Not yet.

Alder was hit by the pathetic form of resistance Ria offered, surprising him with how weak the retaliation was though he refused to drop his guard thinking that someone who could manipulate so many heartless like this would never be this weak. Maybe Ria just wanted him to lower his guard...maybe this wielder was physically weak but far stronger with magic. A magical buffer of some kind would have explained how they were able to withstand so many hits...or perhaps Ria was just hiding their true strength for when the situation called for it. Either way, Alder was not going to just cut loose and make himself easy prey for their enemy. Luckily, some more of his strength was restored when Marley returned the favor and healed them further before Ria had struck at them with what could barely be called a slash from the broken keyblade Ria wielded.

In the distance, he could vaguely hear someone yelling over the sounds of battle. Alder could only catch the word "dog" and immediately knew who had called him out.
"More fighting, less whining, Cabbage-boy!" He called back, not giving a damn if Cerdic heard him or not. As Alder spoke up he heard the sound of his own words but they were not the ones he had shouted but rather, ones that echoed in his mind like a distant memory taken out of context. It was not nothing but it was difficult to find meaning when he was still tensed and ready to take another cut at Ria at any instant. Alder shook his head, trying to push the thought away and eyed Marley whose posture changed as he readied to attack.

First came a downward swing. Then an upward. Followed by a wide arcing horizontal slash with both hands. Just as Marley finished his combo strike Alder spun his keyblade in his left hand and lunged forward once more to open up with an upward diagonal cut before following through, using the blade's momentum to bring the keyblade around to make a downward diagonal slash from the other side down onto Ria. From there, Alder dropped his keyblade knowing he could just summon it back later and stepped closer to smash his armored fist into Ria's torso wanting the satisfaction of hitting the jerk with his own hand.
"How do you like that!?" Alder smirked as he jumped back, resummoning his weapon into his hand and pointing it at Ria.

After her lightning attack failed, Kara was a little demoralised. She'd tried so hard and got so far, but in the end it didn't even matter. Was she doing something wrong? Maybe she hadn't even learned the ability before, but she had no way of knowing that. She glared at Ria silently, cursing him for taking away their memories. Due to taking her attention away from the heartless horde, however, she was struck by them. The claws from one of the heartless sunk deep into her right shoulder, drawing blood and causing the girl to cry out a bit in pain.

In response, the one with the 'leader' pin immediately held her arm up and released a loud cry of "thunder!". As she did so, several dark clouds appeared above the creatures that had struck out at her, before three bolts of crackling, intense lightning rained down upon her targets. The lightning bolts crashed into three of the vile heartless, causing them to be vanquished swiftly as the electrocution effect ended and Kara lowered her arm, eyes widened as she gazed upon the destructive magic she had unleashed.

Once the attack had passed, Kara took a five foot step backwards as she looked at the damage that had been done. Marley and Alder seemed to be holding their own with fighting against their remarkably eccentric captor/attacker/memory thief/whatever the heck they were referring to him/her as. Aside from that, people seemed to be doing alright in their battle against the heartless, with the exception of Relli. Relli had been, in the mess of battle, taken deeper into the heartless swarm.

Thankfully, someone else had stepped in to try to help the now trapped Relli, namely Chloe. She had taken it upon herself to launch some magic at the group, and due to the distance between her and the explosion she had to turn away so as to not have her vision obscured. Instead of looking at the explosion, she looked straight at Cerdic; the guy who not only seemed to not care that one of their own had been taken, but was even using it to insult Alder again. Was his ego truly that big that he had to take every opportunity to push others down? She was already starting to really, really dislike him.

Rushing over to Cerdic and parrying an attack with her keyblade, she spun around swiftly and dispatched one of the heartless that had been attempting to attack him while he was not looking. "Cerdic, please don't talk like that. This is a dangerous situation, and Alder, Marley and Relli are all in the thick of it. We need to get them out, not distract them" Kara explained. She really wished she had the backbone to outright yell at him and call him out, but sadly she wasn't like that.
