Aria wrinkled her brow as Koa furrowed his. She wondered what was going on in his mind exactly to make his forehead all crinkled like that. When he began to explain his story, well their story more like it, it started to make some sense to her. The mention of darkness consuming worlds through Koa's voice somehow triggered odd visuals in her head. She could see darkness crawling on a pastel rainbow colored ceiling, feel a familiar fear creep inside of her chest, and then a warm light and embrace from someone... just like that, the images stopped. They seemed so fuzzy and gave her a slight headache. Aria rubbed at her forehead before focusing back on Koa again to let him finish simplifying things for her.

So The Light Chaser to these guys was their master pretty much. Master Light Chaser... that sounded better than mister, but miser would have to do for now for Aria. Calling someone in a hood who was making obscure references towards something dire master didn't have a good ring to her at the moment. She was stuck here though, as the Light Chaser mentioned. The world was asleep. If she left, for some reason it would fall to its doom... Maybe he was making it up? But Aria didn't know how to leave, even if she wanted to. She would have to play along with them, just as she originally planned to do.

She broke out of her trance when Koa basically challenged her and her abilities. She frowned and tilted her head at the odd nickname he gave her, feeling a bit miffed about it. "Pft, excuse me? Princess? Listen mister, I grew up on a farm." Aria held out her arm and summoned her brightly, multi-colored keyblade and then dropped down to a defense stance. "I ain't no princess," she half-joked as she smirked right at the young man before her.

Now was her chance to prove herself, but she felt like she was going to be a fool in the end. She had some training in her homeworld, mostly to defend against some monsters that roamed around the woods and wildlife, but Master Choma helped her hone in on those abilities the best he could in the short time they had together. Still, she felt a little iffy sparing this guy with all the motionless soldiers and the hooded man watching... were they going to banish her to the darkness if she couldn't keep up?

As Aria summoned her keyblade Koa could not help but laugh out loud at her words. "Wow really? You serious? Hah!" He looked at the other students. One of them actually shrugged in response and another covered their mouth in attempt to hold back a snicker. "Yeah well I guess this girl's for real then. Uh. Okay. Right. Onto business." He switched his keyblade into a reverse grip before leaping at Aria and swinging downward diagonally at her before using the momentum of the cut to switch his keyblade back into a normal grip and slashing back in the opposite direction. He could have moved faster or used a spell or a special technique or...well, the point was to test her. Not to go all out and show off his power.

Uck, he mocked her! Still, she kept her smirk to herself as she prepared for him to make his first move. He jumped down and swung at her with his keyblade, which she was quick to block and anticipated him to come at her like so. Aria felt his strength resonate through her arm as she held the keyblade there and locked with his eyes for a moment. He was holding back, trying to see what she was made out of. It was kind of creepy to say the least, but she figured if she was on this depressed team of antidarkness, she'd have to defend and fight somehow.

Suddenly he swung up, which took the pressure off her keyblade. Aria grew serious as she held her balance and dropped down low, kicking one leg out and quickly tried to sweep at his knees while using her keyblade as a shield over her head.

Once the swarm of heartless had dissipated, Illiana's eyes fell on the strange figures with tribal masks. She lowered her blade and swung it to her right shoulder to bring back her umbrella. "Well this is unexpected." Illiana raised her umbrella and turned away before walking ahead of the tribal figures. "If you want something to be done, you ask politely and with a smile..." She continued to walk ahead and not look back at the mysterious figures. A sudden memory flashed back in her mind for a brief moment before opening her mouth. "Condisce modos fraternus.....mysterium coetus." In her mind, a memory of her childhood play backed for a single moment as she continued to walk ahead with her head held high, umbrella on her shoulder, posture as straight as an arrow, and a presence as strong as a noble .

"Wait." The leader of the masked strangers called towards Illiana, now speaking the language of those who had arrived. They lowered their spears. "You are all children." The man pulled his mask off to reveal...that he was just a man. Nothing more.

"I told you they don't look dangerous. Not like the others. These children even got rid of the dark monsters. Maybe-"

"That is enough. It is for the king to decide." The others took their masks off to show that they were not going to harm them. "You have come this far and your weapons seem to fare better than ours at fending off the monsters. Come with us and we will take you to our city." This was a hint of desperation in the man's voice as he turned to walk ahead of Illiana to lead them in the right direction.

"Our people have remained here in secret for centuries and we have never had to worry about visitors until now. First those from the world above, then the monsters of the dark, and now you. But all of you seem different." As he led the group forward the sound of what could only be a waterfall could be heard echoing at the cave's exit, now visible, where light was now shining from. "I am sorry we frightened you all. Our people have been in danger since those things you defeated arrived-"

"I think those newcomers are to blame." One of them interrupted.

"We don't know that." The man continued. "You can discuss why you are here with our king but for now allow me to introduce you to our home."

Koa hadn't expected the girl to hold her balance like that. He assumed she was a newbie, unable to properly defend herself, and he ended up falling over. Koa caught himself with one hand just as he was going to hit the ground and kicked at Aria in response before pushing himself up to his feet awkwardly with his hand. Koa spun his keyblade around in his hand and began to attack Aria, his blade going downwards then horizontally and then in every other direction with Koa intending to keep the girl on the defensive to see how long (if at all) she could keep it up.

First the frenzy; now the lashing of the remaining scraps. Between the two waves, the battle had gone even less in Glyde's favor than the last one. Maybe he was simply too caught up in making sure the last Heartless to pass at him were clear? After all, he was only human. While minuscule in and of themselves, the three blows at the tail end of the battle mounted upon the damage already dealt. By the time the Heartless had made their pass and been defeated by his ally's hands, Glyde had relatively little strength left; little enough to warrant a controlled fall onto his hind-end, where he remained for the moment of stillness in the fighting's wake; within the moment, he came to the thought of healing himself with the Cure spell Master Choma had granted.

The conclusion, however, was too late in the making. Not a second after his decision to attempt to cure his damage, the soothing wave of another Cure spell washed over him. Giving a cursory glance about at the other students, his eyes fell clearly upon the young girl with the violin. He gave a faint smile as the best thanks he could provide.

He began preparing to try the spell himself to return the favor, but it was then that another group of aggressive figures came down upon the group. Mumbling a choice curse word, he labored himself up, using the end of his Keyblade as a crutch until he was assured of his stability. "Oh!" He stumbled back to the sight of a sharpened spear tip mere inches away from his face, nearly falling over again. For an instant he considered battling the tribal-looking people; seeing that the others had called back their Keyblades, however, he did the same, and hoped it wouldn't have ramifications.
Fortunately, withdrawing his weapon proved the wiser choice. The apparent head of the spear-wielding party removed his mask. "Yeah. Of course we're just children," Glyde would mutter, inaudibly. Guess those masks don't do too many favors for their vision, he reasoned. Despite being healed, and even with the now hospitable disposition of this world's natives, the wounds and exhaustion he had accrued over the hectic Heartless encounter left Glyde in a bitter state of mind; especially at having had a spear in his face. And if it was over the Keyblades, as the natives' body language had suggested... was it really a weapon worth having under scrutiny?

"So," he said, pushing doubt to the back of his thoughts, "who is this King of yours? What's he... errr... like?"

The fact that Illiana had chosen to just walk past the armed spearmen baffled him, but fortunately they didn't want to harm them. Plus they could speak their language which was always a good thing. Chrono didn't follow behind the masked men right away and it wasn't because he didn't trust them. They seemed friendly enough, but this supposed 'King' of theirs could change that view on them. It wasn't hard for Chrono to spot Tinarah behind a rock. Thus he strode over to where she was at a decent pace. "It's okay, they seem to want to help us."

Aria jumped back on her feet as soon as Koa started to fall. She then saw his fancy pinwheel turns with the keyblade and knew she made someone seriously cranky. Here it comes! She braced herself for the offense to rain down on her and began to block and step around in a circle in time to the swings.

One of the first things she learned growing up was defending herself and standing her ground, and she was going to do just that. Her eyebrows furrowed as she concentrated and stepped carefully, watching the swings and trying to anticipate every move Koa's keyblade made. It seemed like they were at it for some time as she began to prespire on her forehead. He was super good, and she was almost having difficulty catching up with him. But Master Choma, though distracted sometimes, taught her well.

Finally, she locked keyblades with Koa and used this opportunity to shove him off balance if possible. "My turn," she said under her breath. She spun around Koa, letting her keyblade slide off of his and then let out a yell as she moved in to be the one making him defend himself. She began to swing back at him hard and relentlessly, going back and forth in an x formation with both hands on the handle and tried to push him back. If she was going to be defeated, Aria was not going to go so quietly and willingly.

As the girl struggled to keep up with him Koa's eyes ever so slightly shifted in the direction of his Master, the man staring at them with his hands clasped behind his back while quietly observing them. Was there a sense of approval or pride the man felt but refused to show under that hood or was he only scrutinizing their technique? He figured he would never know even if he felt the vaguest sense that the master might have been focusing more on-

His attention was snapped back into the sparring match when Aria stopped his assault and put him in a blade lock. Her push was not enough to knock him off balance as he was stronger than her but she still maneuvered around him to get some breathing space of her own before she began to retaliate. She was quick, that was sure, but her attacks were rather...crude and lacking in any finesse. Still, the girl at least proved to be determined to put on a good show for the others and he was not about to embarrass her by immediately switching to using his most powerful abilities.
"Not bad." Koa spoke, stepping back as he lost some ground against Aria while staving off her swings.

"But it's time to show you something new!" Suddenly, Koa stopped defending just as one of Aria's downward swings came at him. Just before it came too close to him it struck a magic barrier which had formed, a Reflect spell. He smirked and just then the barrier exploded to knock Aria back. "It's okay to just lay down and admit defeat. I think you've proved your point." He said calmly as he rolled his shoulders backwards.

Aria wondered why the kid was smirking, only to find out once her keyblade smacked into an invisible force field of sorts. "Huh?!" And then she was thrown back before she could do anything, tumbling on the ground before coming to a stop. She groaned as she sat on her bottom and rubbed her head. "Darn it," she seethed through her teeth.

The girl was about to protest that what Koa did wasn't fair, but then she looked at the others and bit her tongue. The Darkness that seemed to have plague them too in some way or another, and the Darkness was no fair. If she was to be stronger, she needed to anticipate any surprises in the furture much powerful than what Koa demonstrated just now. Something that Master Choma failed to teach her or any of the other students.

Instead of losing her cool because she had lost, she took in a deep breath and let it out slowly as she stabbed her colorful keyblade in the ground and forced herself to get back on her feet. She winced as she felt the impact of her tumble throughout her body but then placed her keyblade on her shoulder and looked over to the Light Chaser. "Do you want me to keep sparing or.,. Not?" Aria asked as she glanced over at Koa to make sure he wasn't going to pull a fast one on her. "Because at this point, I feel like I'm a flimsy cooked spaghetti noodle sparring with a fork."

Tinarah looked up as her brother approached her. He didn't seem to notice that she was hurt a little, part of the reason she wasn't actually hiding. "But... they threatened you. Are you sure they won't hurt us more?" She asked softly, curling in on herself as the agony in her side spiked slightly and she winced. She tried to hide it from Chrono though, she didn't want to worry her brother at all. At least with the spears put away, she felt comfortable enough to move her violin out from behind her back. She didn't want to lean on it too much when she didn't have to. It wasn't like it would break through the case, but it still made her nervous. On top of that it was not the most comfortable for her.

Moving the violin onto her lap, she looked to Chrono once more.
"Do we have to go with them? Shouldn't we wait for Master Choma or Atmos?" She asked him, not trusting these strange men. Even with her brother, she didn't feel totally safe still, the heartless didn't help that either. She was a little freaked out when they first appeared but when they hurt her, it was when she was ready to turn around and wait with the other master until she was well enough to keep going. It didn't thrill Tinarah to go forward on their own.

Truthfully Chrono wasn't completely sure that they were completely out of harms way just yet, but he didn't tell her that. He didn't want to put her on edge anymore than she already was from all this. So far it seemed like they were in good favor with the spear men, even if it was only slightly. "It doesn't look like they will and if they can help up, then we should at least hear them out."

Chrono watched as she adjusted the position of their mothers violin before voicing another concern she had and a valid one at that.
"To be honest, I'd prefer it if we could have either of them here with us right now, but we don't know when either of them will be back." Or in Atmos's case, when she will regain consciousness. "Unfortunately I don't think we have that kind of luxury right now. It'll be fine though, we'll manage til we get at least one of them back." With that said Chrono held out his hand for Tinarah to grab should she choose and casted cure on her.

At the questioning of one of the strangers about their king the man responded with, "Our king is a hard but fair man. He has kept us strong through what was once a dark period of our history and helped us flourish in a time without hope."

"Though over the centuries he has grown weary. I believe it will not be long before his daughter takes the throne." Another said, stating it simply as if it were no big deal that their king had ruled for centuries.

"Do not speak of our king in that tone. He will pass the throne to Kida when she is ready, no sooner." The man spoke harshly before softening his tone when returning his attention to the students. "If you can help us with the beasts, I am sure you will enjoy your stay in Atlantis. Its beauty is unrivaled by any civilization. Are all of you ready to enter the city?"

"I think that is enough." The Light Chaser spoke up over the sound of Koa's muffled laughter at Aria's noodle/fork comment. Her sense of humor was familiar. "Koa, Dentro, Avra." Two of the students, a male and a female, stepped forward. "Don your armor and begin clearing out the darkness for when I am ready to bring Eventide out of its sleeping state."

"Wha-I can't stick around a little longer? Uh...O-Of course, Master. We'll return the instant it is done." Koa sounded all too eager to please and rushed ahead of the others as their armors appeared in a flash of light. "It was nice meeting you, Aria!" Koa took off on a keyblade glider and the other two followed suit.

"Alright, Miss Dorin, it's about time to catch you up on your studies. Don't worry, these lessons are easy enough to learn."

Aria learned the magic spell Cure and the ability Guard!
Aria gained 1 Level! See the OOC Thread for details on Magic and Abilities and post there for your level bonus.
"You will be able to better protect yourself now. There will be more lessons ahead but for now," The Light Chaser looked off towards the three remaining students and motioned for his first to come over while the other two, knowing they were to be dismissed, left to carry on with their studies. "Aria, this is Chrysanthemum, the first of my students. Until this world is safe for you to leave she will be your guide and be there to lend a helping hand should any darkness linger in this world." Aria's doubt of them was still clear on her face and continuing to wear his hood and conceal his identity was never going to make it easy for her to trust him. By placing Aria under Chrys's watch she could have a face to connect his side with.

"Chrysanthemum, I'd like you to keep an eye on Aria for me. Get to know one another. 'Show her the ropes' as one would say. Any questions?"

Tinarah grabbed Chrono's hand just long enough to get to her feet. She might have been scared, but she wasn't a child, she wasn't going to hold onto her brothers hand the entire time. She could take care of herself to some extent, though she did hang in the background. "I wish we could wait... I wish Master Choma was here with us. Then maybe things would go better.... I mean he would have more influence, wouldn't he?" She asked her brother sticking close as she looked to the men as they spoke. There was something about their king being centuries old and Tinarah was confused. She understood other worlds could have other rules, but that just seemed strange to her. However then they spoke of the beauties of the city, that interested Tinarah a bit. She looked to Chrono, still not sure if she wanted to follow but still interested. "Do you think it is anything like home?" She asked quietly.

"No, questions master!" Chrys answered the Light Chaser with a soft smile and a salute that was somewhere between playful and serious. "She'll be safe with me." She continued in her soft voice as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her hoodie. "You have nothing to worry about." Turning from her master, Chrys instead turned her focus to her new charge. "It was Aria, right?" Her smile remained, though it now seemed somewhat nervous, and she didn't seem to quite want to look the other girl in the eyes.

"Like the master said, my name is Chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemum Light." She removed one hand from it's resting place to instead scratch the back of her head in further show of apprehension at introducing herself. "Though most of the others just call me 'Chrys'." While lowering her hand, she seemed to come to some form of realization before shoving it towards Aria rather suddenly in a manner as to propose a handshake.

    "It's nice to meet you!"

"More than whatever influence we have." Chrono said. It wasn't the best of answers that he could've given, but it's not like he was wrong or anything. He figured that a master would have more influence in this situation than they did. Maybe not if they could managed to get on the kings good side. For the fact that they very casually dropped the fact that the king was centuries old had Chrono wondering just how long their life expectancy was. Living for a hundred years was no easy feat, let alone centuries. "Maybe, they certainly think highly of it though." Something that Chrono was curious to know if it was actually all that impressive.

Aria was surprised she was being handed off to someone else already. Maybe the Light Chaser still had to attend his Light Chaser duties... whatever they were. She looked to the new girl, hearing what the Light Chaser said about her being his first student. Oh dang... if I thought Koa was hard to fight...

Aria looked to Chrys with apprehension, and then suddenly realizing something else. OH NO! IM NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO REMEMBER THAT NAME! CRAPCRAPCRAP!

And then she silently breathed out in relief when she mentioned that Chrys was a fine name to call her. Aria flinched when the hand was jutted out to her, only to realize then it was a friendly gesture. The light red headed girl smiled a little and took the hand in hers with newfound confidence. "Nice to meet you too!" She said with a tilt of her head as she shook Chrys' hand.

Takehiko wasn't exactly interested in whether or not the city was beautiful. He really wasn't appreciative of architecture as much as he was natural wonders. But they needed help with the heartless it seemed. When he heard Tinarah mentioned Choma and his influence. Didn't really seem to matter to him, maybe Choma would have made it an easier fight but he was already learning faster on this little adventure of there's to find the Light Chaser, it was probably better that he wasn't there so they could adapt and grow as a result. At least, that was how he saw it.

Take looked at the person and said,
"We'll help you out... I mean... this is probably connected to what we're looking for anyway, we might as well help your city while we're here." Take also noted to himself that it would buy them some time before Choma returned or... what's his name returned. Take rubbed the back of his head and looked at the others, "We... we are gonna help them, right?" he wanted to make sure he didn't just make an executive order that the others disagreed with.

Mika remained silent and alert as the strange people approached them. To be fair, they had a right to be worried about the keyblade wielders--both master's groups were outsiders to this world, after all. So she remained silent, paying close attention to what was going on around her and was absolutely amazed at the sight of the city as the group left the cave.

"This. Is. Awesome," the redhead said, looking all around her. At her side, Nini mewed in seemingly agreement and Mika picked her up, balancing the small cat on her shoulder. Whatever this world was, Mika couldn't believe it's beauitt. Of course Mika only really remembered Master Choma's home base world, but still!

Take's question brought Mika's attention away from the scenery and back towards their their.
"Of course we will! That's what we're meant to do after all. Save the worlds from darkness and all that jazz," Mika said, hugging Nini closer to her and smiling slightly at Take. "Take us to your leader," the older girl said in a completely serious voice, oh so tempted to make some sort of joke. This world and its people were definitely interesting, that was for sure, and Mika couldn't wait to see what was in store for them all.

The students were led forth by the Atlanteans once they were ready (or ready enough) to head out. A long rope bridge connected the cave's exit and if one looked down they would see a constant flow of lava slowly running along at the bottom of the expanse between the cave and the city.

"Best not to look down. It's a long way to fall." One of the men said jokingly as he kept walking. The distance was several minutes worth of walking and as they began to enter the grand city there was an air of emptiness about the place. Distant whispers in alleyways, a passing shadow as a figure rounded a corner, the sounds of doors closing as the group approached, and vacant marketplaces. The only other signs of life in the city were the Atlantean guards stationed sparsely through the streets.

The Atlanteans leading them grew visibly more somber as they walked through the empty streets of their home until at last the group approached two large stone doors. Upon them being pushed open by two guards a beautiful chamber room could be seen. Just at that moment a white-haired young woman, clearly upset, passed by the group without a single word or glance. "Princess Kida." One of the Atlanteans uttered as the woman left the chamber.

At the far back of the chamber was an elderly man with long flowing white hair complete with a beard about just as long. "Your Highness." The Atlanteans knelt upon approaching the man. "This is King Kashekim Nedakh."

"More outsiders?" King Nedakh's tone was clearly full of frustration.

"Your Highness, these children have weapons to vanquish the beasts if we allow them to help-"

"Weapons? No weapons on this world have the power to fend off the darkness. Outsiders have only ever brought us trouble. Did you not remember about those who arrived earlier? They will be sent back to where they came from just as these children will be."

The Light Chaser watched as Chrys and Aria got their chance to interact and, as expected, they started off on amicable terms. "Chrys, our guest seems capable enough to join you on your first assignment." The man spoke, tilting his head up to stare into the sky as if he was searching for something or...even possibly sniffing the air? Somehow, his hood stayed on with no signs of falling back like it was held up with some kind of magical force. The dark void under his hood faced the two again as his tone became more serious. "It seems we have a stowaway on this world." There was a brief pause in his tone. "Stowaways." He corrected himself. "When I pulled this world from being swallowed it seems some of those Heartless followed it here. The two of you should be more than enough to handle the situation."

The Light Chaser pointed out in the direction of the park, where the attack had first began before the other group had escaped and he had saved this world. He could have handled it himself but more good would come from having the two girls bond during combat. It worked for him in the past.
