    Krystaline winced and cried out in pain, cussing. She looked down at her foot and growled.

    Holden saw the Paladin attack Krystaline. He staggered forward a bit, having jumped so many times. Whoa...location disoriented... He snapped out of it and grabbed the man roughly by the shoulder, yanking him off Krystaline with all his strength.

    "I'm so sorry." He said, quickly crouching down next to Krystaline. "You're hurt..." Holden said in a worried tone as he looked at her foot. "I'm sorry..." Holden repeated as he lifted her up gently, glaring at the Paladin who shot her before jumping right outside a hospital...in Texas(OOC: *winks*). "I can't do much for you...so I'm bringing you in."

    Krystaline huffed in irritation, trying to find her voice and protest. "I don't--" She whimpered and decided to hold her tongue. I hate feeling helpless...

    "Sorry...for putting you through this..." He whispered, carrying her inside the hospital. Everything I do always ends up making a mess... "Hey! Can we get a doctor!?" He shouted once he took a few steps inside the hospital.

    Krystaline shook her head against Holden's chest.

    "You c-can't just yell lik--" She gasped in pain and shut up again. Jeez... She took a deep shaky breath, trying her hardest to ignore the searing, throbbing pain in her foot. She suddenly felt dizzy.

    "Hol...den...?" Her vision was starting to blur, heart pounding.

    I won't die... She thought. I got shot in the FOOT. There's no way I'm this weak!

    And still, she felt herself slipping from reality.

    Holden winced as if feeling Krystaline's pain. "Come on..." He waited impatiently as a nurse rolled a bed in(ooc: I don't think it has another name...). He gently placed Krystaline on it in a single smooth movement. "Someone shot her foot." Holden told the nurse, following her as she wheeled Krystaline away.
    "Stay here." She replied, moving into another room, Krystaline vanishing with her.

    "Hey!" Not fair...

    "H-hey, wait!" Krystaline cried, watching anxiously as nurses and doctors crowded the small bed, shouting and asking her questions. She answered accordingly, still hoping Holden would come running around the corner.

    Like he cares about you...

    She felt a pang of sadness ignite in the center of her chest. She laid back straight, a mask going over her nose and mouth.

    Before she knew it, she was out cold.

    Damn it! It's like I can't do anything... He groaned in frustration, pacing back and forth as time flew by. When he was just about to lose it and burst through the doors to find Krystaline, a doctor walked up to Holden.

    "Where you the one who brought in the young lady with the guns-"

    "Is she okay? Take me to her! Please..." Holden cut him off, sounding desperate.

    "A-alright. She's probably resting by now. Just follow me." The doctor replied.

    "Ngh..." Krystaline's eyes fluttered open. Everything around her looked blurry and far away. She wondered briefly if she was dead. A numb ache in her foot told her otherwise.

    Her entire body felt weighed down. Her throat was dry and she felt hot.

    She opened her mouth to ask a nurse for some water but before she could, another wave of exhaustion swept over her.

    Holden entered the room, seeing Krystaline's sleeping body. A wave of guilt filled his mind as he stared at her. "Be back..." He whispered, jumping out of the room.

    Several minutes later...

    Holden knelt down at her bedside and took her hand in both of his, having filled the entire room with get well balloons, stuffed animals, and flowers. "I'm so sorry..." He whispered.

    Krystaline felt someone take her hand. She opened her eyes, turning her head slowly to face Holden.

    "You...you stayed...?" She sounded hoarse. "Oh, Holden..."
    She blinked back tears, grinning at the man.

    "I'm glad..." She choked out, giggling happily after.

    "I'm not leaving anytime soon..." He whispered softly, wishing he had brought water for her. "Like the room, love?" Holden asked, smiling slightly as he stared at her. His eyes lost focus of everything but Krystaline, his heart sounding like a speeding train. Is this...natural...?

    Krystaline's eyes were locked on his, still glistening with tears. She nodded, slowly.

    "Yuh...huh..." Her heart pounded in her chest, the sound echoing and pulsing through her body.
    Adrenaline rush...? But she knew what it was.

    Holden leaned in closer towards Krystaline, gazing deep into her eyes. "I..." He trailed off, moving a hand to wipe a tear forming on the corner of her eye. "Don't...cry..." Holden said almost silently.

    Krystaline shook her head, laughing quietly and allowing the tears to fall.

    "I'm just...I don't know..." She stared back. "I think I'm happy...Happy that you're here." She nodded quickly after saying that. "I am. T-that's all..."

    "I'm happy I stayed..." Holden whispered softly, rubbing the back of her hand with his. "I'm so sorry I put you in danger." He lowered his head and closed his eyes. "So sorry..." Holden repeated.
