    The Roleplay

    I n t r o d u c t i o n

The war has been dragging on for ten years now, leaving devastating results in its wake. Most of Earth’s population has forgotten what it means to have a home, much less a family. Even the greatest of empires have crumbled and order has been replaced by chaos all over the world. There is no more government. There are no more laws. Only corrupted morals remain. The world has been plunged into a fierce, competitive game of survival that no one sees an end to. Though idealists and the most hopeful of poet’s dream of a better world, only few know of the hidden power buried beneath the earth’s soil. Ever since the beginning of time, humans have been possessed by an unsatisfiable greed dubbed as sin. Nations have fought and struggled over power and territory, but for what? Unknown to them, what caused these desires was an ancient jewel. A jewel left behind by the Divine ones, the first race to ever live on the planet. The jewel holds the power to create and to destroy, granting a god’s power to those who use it. Those who know of it search for it aimlessly, for the jewel picks those to lead to its location itself. Very few have received the call, but the ones who have are known as the Diviners. Among the chaos, there are various alliances created. These alliances were formed originally as small militias, dedicated to protecting themselves against others. However, as legend of the jewel resurfaced, Alliances were made devoted to finding the jewel. In a matter of time, it became an arms race. (Put “Where is your boy tonight?†Somewhere in your first post.)

    T h e L y t h o s A l l i a n c e

No one has found the jewel yet, but the Lythos Alliance seems close. Equipped with the efficient technology, weapon power, and knowledge of the jewel, Lythos is dedicated to locating the jewel. Though each member has their own reasons and intentions, the small organization welcomes all whom would be valuable. They don’t stand for justice or freedom. Nor do they vow to protect the rights of human beings or defend the innocent. Their sole objection is to finding the jewel. The alliance has three Diviners, and unlike most Alliances, they do not capture unwilling Diviners and force them to lead the way. They do not have a particular base, as they travel all over the world. However, they commonly rest in safe spots and the few remaining Inns. (Put “To love and be loved in return.†Somewhere in your first post)

    W e a p o n s

Also, with the emergence of Alliances, weapons also began surfacing around the entire world. These weapons became the strength of the Alliances. Though lying around in most places, these weapons were not up for grabs. Upon joining an Alliance, pledges were made. You could only join if you were chosen by a weapon. The weapons could be anything from a rocket launcher to a baseball bat, and if the weapon wasn’t right for you, it would repel you. If your own intentions do not match up with that of your weapons, it will overtake you in a second. Many humans die not from each other’s hands, but from their own once their weapons overcome them.

    Ru l e s

    v No excessive swearing.

v Only THREE Diviners. Remember, Diviners are those whom can sense how close the Jewel is.

v No Godmodding. If I see it, I’m warning you.

v No sex. Seriously, that’s obvious. Anything over PG-13 goes to PM or MSN.

v Please, please, please don’t keep messaging me about this RP. It irritates me to no end when people feel the need to nit-pick at everything. If you have a suggestion or a question, it’s alright to ask. But if you’re just bringing up random crap then I don’t need to hear it.

v No killing anyone else’s character without permission.

v No **’s for actions. If I see it, there’s no way I’m adding you to this RP.

v Put “I am the god, Oyashiro.†In your first post somewhere.

v No one liner. Period. No one sentence posts, if I see it, I’m warning you ONCE.

v The same goes for unrelated OOC’s. Ex. “OOC: I had nothing to say.†I don’t care. There’s no need to tell me. Same thing with, “OOC: Going to bed. Night.†I don’t care if you’re going to sleep, go to sleep. Why do you have to make an announcement? D:

v Please, don’t post your “appearance†as an image. Post it as a link to the image.

v I am the ruler of this RP. Don’t question my methods. *Backhands*

v Also, if you don’t put the thing(s) I told you to put into your first post, I’m ignoring your post completely. Yes. I will. No friendly, “read the RP†warning either, unless I like you. I’m ignoring you. This is serious business.

    Name: Klaire Cross.

    Age: Nineteen.

    Diviner? Yes.

Why did you/do you want to join Lythos? The Lythos alliance helped her escape an alliance that held her captive as their personal tool when she was only eleven years of age. At first, they were planning on abandoning her in a “safer†area, but she ended up tagging along with them anyways.

Weapon: Not one for violence; Klaire hasn’t gone out of her way to search for a weapon herself. She believes that if she’s meant to have a weapon, she will find one on her way. She relies mainly on the other members of the alliance to protect her and is a very rare exception to the “must have a weapon to join†rule. This is mainly due to the fact that they need her as a Diviner.

Personality: By nature, Klaire is a very loving and gentle person, though she can be frightening when she’s angry. She keeps to herself about most things and doesn’t speak unless she feels it’s necessary, but she’s loyal and honest. She loves nature and animals and even in the midst of chaos, she’ll go out of her way to recognize the beauty.

Bio: As a child, she grew up in a small town several hours from the city. Her parents were barely around and she had no siblings. Klaire spent most of her days tending to her beautiful garden outside of her house and taking care of her kitten, Kanon. She depended on her garden to bring her happiness and comfort her during lonely times. As time passed, she devolved a strong love for nature and animals and a general dislike of the ones who ruined them. Two years before the war, both of her parents passed. This didn’t particularly ail her in anyway, considering her distance from them, but she was forced to move out into the city and attend an all-girl boarding school. She was quiet and kept to herself there, not having much experience in communication. The students were often cruel to her, calling her names and picking on her for no real reason other than she was different. She tolerated it, though she began to wonder about the reason for her existence. As the war started and began to drag on, everything she knew once again was flipped around. She was frightened, wandering the world alone. She was a young and naive girl at the time, so of course as alliances began to emerge, she stumbled aimlessly about among them trying to find a friend and a place to belong. She was eleven-years-old when the DareDevils alliance found her. She was slumped up against a wall in an alleyway, whispering to herself, asking the jewel to quiet down. She had no idea how to control it. The voice hadn’t even appeared until after the war had started. The leader of the alliance had her kidnapped and captured, enslaved to them. The Lythos alliance found her months later and for no apparent reason, saved her life and freed her. Ever since then, though not an offical member, she has willingly aided them.

    Diviner? No.
Why did you/ do you want to join Lythos? As soon as war broke out, his parents joined Lythos thinking it to be the only way to survive. Naturally, Valin was brought along being only a child at the time. He grew up knowing loyalty to no other alliance.
    Weapon: A longsword.
Personality: I am the god, Oyashiro. …Kidding. Valin always manages to find the dark side of things and often talks in a sarcastic manner. Despite his attitude, he constantly goes great lengths to either “show off†or assist anyone within Lythos. After he had found his weapon, Valin’s cold demeanor began to shift to his own weapon, sensing that all it wanted was to shed blood at any given opportunity. He continuously tries speaking to it with absolutely no success and figures that the weapon chose him simply because of his will to fight even though Valin himself is not a cold-blooded killer. Valin also cares very little for relationships of any kind since he had no sort of bond with his own parents who he felt had ignored him.
Bio: Valin remembers almost nothing of his early childhood since the memories of war pushed out his previous memories. He spent relatively little time with his parents as they were rarely ever around since they were either scouting out areas or in the midst of battle. When he heard news of their deaths, their passing felt nothing more than the absence of two strangers. As soon as his parents passed away, his own exception for being in the alliance without a weapon expired and he was forced to find his own. He wants, “to love and be loved in return.†Valin had to leave the alliance until he found a weapon of his own, he made a promise that he would return with a weapon of his own in two days. …Two days later he returned with a longsword strapped to his side and was welcomed back in the alliance. Valin was only 14 at the time and soon took up every opportunity to prove his worth in an attempt to work harder than both his parents who had seemingly dedicated their lives to the alliance. “Where is your boy tonight?â€

    Name:
    Castiel "Cass" Valk

    Age:
    18

    Diviner?
    Yes.

Why did you/ do you want to join Lythos?
Cass is a newer recruit to Lythos. He found his weapon long before realizing he was a Diviner. His best friend told him to join Lythos with her since he had a weapon, but he felt that he needed a sign to join besides just finding a weapon. He joined with her after realizing he was a Diviner, seeing that as the final sign.
    I am the god, Oyashiro
    Weapon:
Castiel's weapon is a purple boomerang. The middle is a handle, but the sides are curved blades. It's very cocky, like Cass, but doesn't trust other people and likes to argue with Cass.

    Personality:
Very cocky. He's the kind to leap before looking. He gets off on adrenaline and loves to get into danger. In a way, he's looking to die out of sadness, but he won't go out without a fight. He easily trusts people and knows it. Not wanting to make bonds, he goes out of his way to annoy others so they don't try to befriend him.

    Bio:
Castiel (named after the Angel of Thursday) and his best friend, Chloe, both found weapons when they were 16. Chloe thought that, because they found weapons, that they should join Lythos before another Alliance forced them to join. Castiel didn't like the idea and said plenty of people have weapons who aren't in an Alliance. Recently, Castiel found out he was a Diviner, hearing voices in his head. Chloe convinced him that it's a sign to join Lythos and he gave in. Shortly after joining Lythos, Chloe's weapons, a set of claws on each hand, overwhelmed her. Going crazy, she ended up attacking Cass. Cass' boomerang was ready to fight back, but Cass wasn't, causing his boomerang and his intentions to conflict and temporarily paralyzing him. He was still long enough for Chloe to scratch his face. Finally, worried for his life, he ended up stabbing her in the stomach. She came to her senses as she died in his arms. Before burying her, he took her headband as a memoir, blaming himself for her death.

Bio: he is crazy, the definition of the word in fact, he desires godlike power and worst of all he knows how to get it. he also desires to become like the one who says "I am the god, Oyashiro." but worst of all he desires to forget about his son who everybody knew and always stated, while they were not traveling together, "Where is your boy tonight?" BEHOLD, for I shall be rejected. "Where is your boy tonight?" cause we want to sound like we perform paedophilia. "To love and be loved in return" cause your obsessed with sex? "I am the god, Oyashiro" which explains it all ._.

Why did you/ do you want to join Lythos? She joined Lythos to belong to somewhere and to have a purpose, instead of roaming around aimlessly. It also gave her a means to defend herself by.

Weapon: 2 pure silver daggers, with a diamond in each daggers hilt.

Personality: She has a renewed sense of hope and is faily innocent compared to most people. She is an optimist and likes to see the good in most things, she is full of energy and wants to do anything to help. She loves to be around other people.

Bio: She has no home or family she can remember, she hated not belonging anywhere and always being alone. She had lost all hope when she discovered her weapon, it represented a sign of hope for her. She joined Lythos to get a purpose and to make a difference. She was also afraid of getting forced to do anything by another alliance.

OOC: You three are added. I'll edit this post (or just post if someone bumps this) as my starting post later today.

    EDIT: OOC" Or...Today.

The light in the hallway was turned off again. Another member had done it, thinking she was asleep, though she never was. She couldn't sleep anymore. She spent the majority of her nights staring up at her ceiling until the world blurred away, only to refocus. Tonight, she was on her second twenty-minute “blur†interval when she heard someone push the large oak door open to check on her. He didn't stay long, he just stood in the doorway for a moment or two before turning his empty eyes over to her sister's bed. She figured he only checked to watch their bodies rise and fall, for confirmation that they were still breathing, at the very least. He then closed the door all of the way, mumbling to himself and flipping the light switch off in the hallway. Scheduled checks. No, not for all of the members of Lythos. But for her. Some didn't trust her. And how could they? How could anyone trust anyone else?

Klaire sat up slowly, looking down at her hands. It was cold tonight. She wasn't sure what was worse, overall. The cold or the heat. Sometimes it was so hot out that she felt like she couldn't breathe. Other times, it was freezing. It was never the perfect temperature anymore, and it never would be. No matter the time of day. It was around five in the afternoon, and the sun had already set. She wondered briefly if she had missed out on anything. It was rare that the alliance found an inn to rest in. She rubbed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Not unless they stopped it. Even in the darkness, she could make out the big fuzzy black and white lump Kanon made on the bed. She stroked his fur, smiling a little. He had stuck by her this whole time and had become her best friend.

"Are you ready to wake up, Kanon?" She asked softly, smiling before getting out of bed. She stretched, straightening her jacket and pants out before walking out of the room. She could smell dinner.

Footsteps quietly paced throughout the hallways as relatively few people either kept an eye out for trouble or just moved to a few rooms to check on one of the members. Valin was one of the only ones who was supposed to be on guard duty and as such roamed throughout the halls in search of anything suspicious. His nearly black eyes focused straight ahead, passing by another member who had just turned of the lights in the hallway he was in. He glanced back at the male and had the urge to tell him to go outside to make himself more useful but Valin decided against it.

Valin stuffed one hand in his pocket and rested his left hand on the hilt of his sword. The cold metal stung against his skin as it did more than make him want to shiver. He closed his eyes for a moment and took in the cool air, smelling food somewhere else in the inn as well as a hint of death. Valin's left hand twitched and in response he lowered it to his side, sighing deeply. Whenever things seemed too peaceful the stench of rotting corpses always came back to him and reminded him of his desire for blood. He shook his head and opened his eyes, glancing at the rather simplistic handle of his sword remembering that it wasn't he who wanted blood but his blade.

"Not right now." Valin spoke under his breath, directing it to his sword. "There's nobody here to cut down." His left hand twitched once more. Figuring that speech was getting nowhere, he decided to ignore it and focus on other things. ...Then his stomach growled. Valin raised an eyebrow and stopped walking, taking his right hand out of his pocket to scratch the back of his head. Right...it's been awhile since I've eaten...

"Blegh, not as good as I expected it to be," Cass muttered, staring at his half eaten bologna sandwich in front of him. Leaning his chair back on its hind legs, he kept his eyes focused on his plate as he swished his tongue around his teeth, cleaning the wadded pieces of bread and meat stuck to them. His expression slowly went from disappointment to disgust as the taste of the sandwich refreshed itself.

Letting the chair fall forward onto all four legs, he quickly picked up his cold glass and began to chug it all down in one go. The cool, sweet, dark liquid swished down his throat, successfully ridding him of the sandwich's taste. He let out a semi-satisfied sigh as he put the glass in the exact same spot it was before. He glanced up, looking only through his left eye -while his right eye was covered with just enough gray hair so only a glint of green was visible, his hat was tilted downwards to completely hide it- just in time to see a couple pairs of eyes quickly turn away. I'm really getting tired of being stared at, he thought to himself. Just because of his "gift," the other Allies were always watching him. He knew it was to protect him, he was important to them after all, but he felt more like he was a spectacle for them to behold, nothing but a circus act.

He leaned back into his chair again and pulled his boomerang out of his belt with his right hand, the steel scratching the leather as it slid past. Sliding one finger into the hole in the middle of the handle, he proceeded to twirl it around in a perfectly horizontal circle. He pushed the hat up slightly with his freehand and his eyes focused on the spinning blades with such concentration, he seemed to be in a trance. The wind from the spinning blades ruffled his hair and sent a small breeze past his face. He didn't want his boomerang getting too bored. He focused his sight so directly on the spinning, his eyes almost started hurting. Suddenly, his finger slipped out and his hand caught the handle, stopping the spinning abruptly.
He then quickly slammed it into the table in front of him. The boomerang resembled a slightly distorted S, he noticed. Cass then crossed his arms on the table and used them as a headrest for his chin and stared through the hole. "Yeah, I know," he started muttering, "I'm bored, too."

"what's wrong with me? how is it possible for me to be tired after all this?" he drank his 6th pot of coffee within 2 hours. "ehh that make three days without sleep ill have to find that gem soon so i can lay my mind to rest."

Outside, not too far from the building was where Aran sat. A cold, damp cloth in one hand and his sword in another. Letting the blade meet the moisture he began to wash his partner. What appeared to be a man cleaning his weapon was more twisted than it first appears, to Aran this was a ritual for prevent his sword from becoming thirsty. Not being well raised Aran believed in stories he heard as a child, stories of blades seeking blood, sometimes of they're masters and manipulating them to seek more. Of course these tales where from hundreds of years ago but Aran didn't know that and still believed that his weapon was quite literally his soul and that it could turn on him if not protected.

OOC: Am I accepted? I put the thing you told me in my post. I'll post but if I'm not just tell me.

Bic: Tikka's eyes fluttered open as she woke, she frowned as she looked up at the ceiling then it transformed into a smile as she remembered where she was. It felt good to feel like she belonged somewhere compared to her life before this. Her hands moved over and stroked her daggers. With a sigh she sat up and swang her legs over the side of her bed. She sat there for a moment, it was unlikely she'd be able to go back to sleep now.

Klaire yawned and walked out of the room slowly, looking around. The hall was long with hardwood floors and light blue walls. The pale lighting barely lit it, but it was almost night. Brushing some hair back, the girl took a few steps down the old stairs. She was amazed at how the place was even still standing. Even with the homely look, she was quite aware of the safety precautions taken to keep this place even halfway safe. Behind the walls were layers upon layers of steel and brick. The glass was strong, durable and bullet proof. Even with these measurements taken, Klaire pretended the wasteland outside didn't exist. She kept pretending this was her home, for the night.

She walked down the remainder of the steps and into the dining hall. Quickly, she scanned the room, folding her arms over her chest. There were few members eating already. This was good. She took a deep breath and walked over to an empty table, sitting down and pulling her seat in. She gazed outside at the sunset. Sooner or later, she was going to have to either leave or join Lythos for good. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that she would become an official member soon, but she was having a hard time deciding when. She crossed her legs, glancing once at the food at the main banquet.

"I should eat...We'll be leaving here soon..." She mumbled to herself, getting out of her seat and grabbing a plate. She made herself a rather small salad, having learned to ration out of food quite well, and wrapped some lettuce and vegetables up in a small plastic bag she carried with her and headed back to her seat, stabbing her fork into the lettuce and staring down at her plate with a bored sigh.

Valin stared down at the wooden floor as he continued along his path, hearing nothing out of the "ordinary" as he dragged his feet along the floor. He growled lowly, his left arm twitched uneasily as he headed downstairs towards the dining hall. I don't like keeping an eye on things when its so calm. As the stairs creaked from his weight, a metallic glint caught his eye. Valin looked down towards the left and raised an eyebrow, noticing that he was now holding his sword in his hand. Sighing, he shook his head slowly and stopped to sheath the blade, knowing that it had forced him to draw it out.

"Unless you want me to stick you in the ground, you'll stay put." He muttered towards the weapon, shoving his hand hastily back into his pocket as he soon entered the dining hall. Valin's arm twitched once more, this time more violently causing him to use his other hand to hold it still. At this rate I'll go mad. He looked around at the others, figuring nobody had noticed him enter. He looked for an empty table only to see a girl take the last one for herself. Valin cursed under his breath and decided that he would have to force himself to sit down with at least one other member in order to avoid standing around.

People. If they were allies, Valin attempted to avoid them since his blade had no understanding of the word. His sword just wanted to cut into anything that could be killed, whether it was an enemy or a friend and had already killed one of the other members by accident. Valin took a chair on the opposite side of the table and turned it to the side as to not face the girl. He then rested his right arm on the table and began to tap his fingers anxiously against the cold surface, staring straight at the wall.

Klaire blinked once, staring at the member in front of her. She didn't know him very well. In fact, all she knew about him was that his name was Valin; and that among the rest of them, he was one of the less...friendly. So it amazed her that he was sitting there in front of her. It was only to be expected that he was avoiding conversation and eye-contact. She still wondered why he had even bothered sitting down by her in the first place. She wasn't really the "social" type, but something about the way he was purposely avoiding her was making her curious.

She thought to herself for a minute, taking a small bite of salad and shifting in her seat nervously. She didn't want to annoy him. She figured it was best to just sit quietly and let him do what he wanted. But still, something about him.

"Valin, right?" She asked bluntly, staring straight at him. A moment later her face went red and she looked back down at her salad, angry with herself. Hadn't she just decided not to say anything? She couldn't even follow her own orders. She looked away at a wall with a slight huff before looking back at him with a less friendly, more irritated look on her face.

Valin's continuous tapping came to a stop as soon as Klaire spoke his name. His eyes narrowed at the wall as he kept quiet for a moment, almost sure he had only imagined that she said somethng to him. His eyes shifted over towards the girl before finally turning his head to give her his attention. She was looking at him. So she did speak...

"Valin's my name." He nodded slightly and looked the girl over, recgonizing her as one of the Diviners although he did not know her name. Valin lowered his head and looked at the girl's salad, remembering that he had still not eaten. He shrugged off whatever hunger he had and lifted his head once more, wondering if he should bother to ask her name. She is a Diviner...so she's important.

After several seconds of silence, Valin decided one question couldn't hurt too much. "What's your name?" He muttered half-heartedly, turning his head to stare at the wall once more.

Klaire's face reddened not out of a attraction for the man, but out of pure shyness. She wasn't used to talking much to the actual members of the alliance, always being regarded as one "outside of the pack" being her back. This was understandable. She didn't have much of a reputation besides being "that one Diviner who tagged along" here, and she probably never would. She tilted her chin down and glanced at the lettuce on her plate, suddenly losing her appetite. Maybe Kanon would eat it.

"Klaire." She murmured, lifting her head slowly to look back at him. She looked away as soon as she did, biting her lip. She could feel herself starting to shake, feeling nervous and light-headed. How stupid... She thought. Why am I so nervous? She looked down at her clenched hands, furrowing her brows. A second later, she blinked, looking up. "Oh!"

She pushed her chair back, taking out her plastic bag and dumping the remainder of the salad into it. Straightening her shirt out, she brushed some hair behind her ear and walked over to a trash can, throwing the paper plate away. She had completely forgotten. She promised herself she'd look for her weapon today--well, tonight. She looked out of the window and frowned deeper, looking back at Valin, having forgotten about their conversation for an instant. She turned red again as her eyes meant his directly for a moment, something she had been trying to avoid.

"I-I'm sorry, but I..." She turned to face him, taking a step back and bumping into another table, blinking and turning back to make sure she hadn't hit anyone. "Sorry!" She exclaimed in apology to a boy eating a sandwich, whipping around again to face Valin with a flustered expression.

"I have to go!" She finally spit out, turning and bolting out of the room.

Finishing the cleaning of his blade, Aran put away his weapon. It belonged on a large battered scabbard at his side that clearly did not match the weapon he held. Looking to the sky he realised that it was getting darker, he would be better off inside by now.

Turning casually he made his way back into the building leaving the rag he washed his sword with outside. Upon entering the building he saw the place where most members of this 'cult' he found where eating. Not caring to be one of them unless fighting occurred he made his way to his room upstairs. On Aran's mind was the constant thought of the possible worthy opponents he sighted each day he was with the alliance. One day after he has finished his business with this group he would challenge them. Some would call it madness, others would see it as a warriors spirit. Although, to Aran, this was the only way of life he knew.

Quickly traversing the halls, Aran arrived in his room. Placing his weapon at the bedside he lay ontop of the sheets and watched the ceiling.

Valin rose to his feet reluctantly, his hand instantly reaching for the handle of his sword as Klaire took off. He had no wish to follow her but knew that if he let her run off and get herself into trouble, things would not go smoothly for himself. He took a small step in the direction in which she had left before the thought of her simply going back to her own room crossed his mind. He sighed, wondering about the chances of Klaire running outside out of embarrassment. Valin, having been part of Lythos for so long, knew that people could still do stupid things at the wrong times and get themselves killed...and he had no intention on letting someone important die. Still, he had very little interest in actively "helping" others when they weren't in obvious need of it.

I could not follow. An image of Klaire lying in a pool of her own blood passed through his mind. ...If I must... His hand twitched and clutched his sword tightly before pulling it an inch out of its sheath. Valin turned his attention towards his sword and glared at it, forcing himself to let go of the weapon and follow Klaire out the door. If she returned to her room, he would leave her alone...if she did anything else, he would keep an eye on her. "Girls can't stay put for one moment." He said under his breath.
