The 4th movie has the Spanish. Therefore it has the most badassery out of the rest of the series. They seriously trolled the shit out of the pirates.

    ...You guys have mental problems.

All four films are excellent. They're all technically sound from the score to the filmography to the cast dynamics, the characters develop in intriguing ways, and the scale builds to insane proportions by the third film and carries through to the fourth. Elizabeth and William did not reach their peak 'til the later films; in the first they were basically a plot device; and the crew had the sense to retire them for the fourth movie, knowing full-well their story had reached its close, showing superb narrative clarity. The continued exposure of Jack Sparrow to different environments, circumstances, and people shows how deeply he affects those close to him, how everyone who meets him changes dramatically--sometimes even if it's not their first meeting! Not to mention the continued exhibition of the world of the film gave it a unique vibrancy and liveliness that it would not have had were it a one-shot. Pirates of the Carribean built more than a mythos; it built a mythology.

Plus Arch is right, the Spanish kicked ass.

    Q.E.D. You're all insane.
