~: Camping Trip :~

Aly looked up, startled. Fight back? She didn't answer, not sure how to, but murmured to Rhone, "Your backpack made it, its under the bunk bed." The cat wanted her, she had many things to say to her. Smiling a little, she gently took the cat from Tyler. "Thank you." she murmured, keeping her eyes down as she petted the cat, listening to her complain and tell off stupid human kittens who thought they were cats. She only smiled, and rubbed the cat between the ears, listening.

 

Looking around almost desperately for the sound, Aria backed away further towards the light before stilling suddenly. You idiot, your powers! She thought hastily, falling forward onto her knees and clasping her hands together. She closed her eyes hesitantly and began to focus. Her heart was pounding as her lungs struggled to get a full breath. The mud beneath her began to slide her back but she didn't lose concentration.

Slowly her body became outlined in a faint pink glow, her lips parting as she began to sing a song her brother had taught her before his disappearance. Her voice was smooth, angelic, perfect to the human ear. The beats in front of her seemed stunned, frozen and shocked at the sound before they slowly retreated into the shadows, becoming still and silent.

Aria stopped her song, her body shuddering violently as she did so. She had never learned how to end the songs. As odd as it sounded, she should have been able to end the lyrics smoothly and perfectly, but in her state she didn't manage and instead caused her power to suddenly cease activation. She shuddered again, groaning as a dull pain pulsed through her body before she opened her eyes.

Her surroundings seemed blurry now. They were out of focus. She wanted nothing more than to be back at the cabin, safe with her Alaric. But she knew this was no time to lie down and let fate play out its course. She was weakening by the second, and she was not going to let go. She crawled forward, towards the light, and towards the sound of water. Her vision began to fade in and out.

 

Aly frowned slightly, then set down the cat, following her to the path. Rubbing her back, she winced, then picked up the pace. The cat sat ended up next to the lake, where she sat, and directed Aly to get in. Aly sighed, then faced the lake and pulled off her shirt, exposing her bruised back. "Cats are just such know it alls." she muttered, jumping in and washing the dirt off. She had more bruises then she realized, but even half of those had begun to fade. Midnight lay down, watching her. Cats don't beat their own kittens. she remarked, washing a paw.

 

Hiding in the underbrush, Tyler followed Aly. He was concerned. Why did she leave the group and what was with the bruises? Maybe the monster did that to her. If that was true, he couldn't live it down.

 

Aly rolled her eyes, more herself with the cat then humans. "Well thank the gods you're not human then." she told the cat, rubbing her arm. The water was okay, a little cold, but since she wasn't exactly used to warm water, that wasn't a problem. Midnight's ears twitched, and Aly could have sworn the cat grinned, then she blinked. And kittens don't tell cats what to do. Midnight replied smoothly, washing behind her ears, still smiling a kitty smile. Aly opened her mouth to ask her, then tripped, tumbling under the water.

 

The boy's initial confusion over the talking creature was dismissed over seeing Aly disapper beneath the liquid surface.

"Aly!"


Not thinking any farthere, he dived into the lake, looking for her.

 

Holding her breath, Aly thought calmly. She hadn't panicked when Da had tried to drown her. Her foot was stuck in something. She gently felt around it. A trap of some kind? It was rope, tightly wound around her ankle somehow. Jerking would only tighten it, or break her ankle. How far was the surface? That was when she realized she didn't know which way was up.

 

Swimming about, Tyler tried to find her. It was so dark, so murky. There might be monsters down there. Dear god, please don't let there be monsters.
He tried to call out to her, but the water stuffed the words back into his throat.

 

Running out of air. She let her fingers float up, and felt them touch air. But she couldn't get there without help, she didn't have anything to cut the rope with. Opening her eyes, she looked around, for something, anything sharp. It was a freaking lake, after all. She gently scoured the bottom, trying not to kick up too much sand. The rope didn't loosen or tighten.

 

In a last ditch attempt, the boy flailed his arms, hoping to touch something, to touch someone. Luckily, the bet paid off. He felt something, something human.

 

Aly yelped, and inhaled water. Trying to control her urge to cough, she grabbed whatever had touched her and pulled it toward her. A hand. Hoping it was attached to something, she pulled it down to her ankle, hoping whoever it was wouldnt' hate her for this.

 

After the hand guided him, his fingers worked over the rope. Soon it came loose, but in exchange it took his hand as it's surrogate.

 

Aly pushed for the surface, gasping, then went back down. She scoured the bottom again, looking for something, anything. Grabbing a rock, she winced as it cut her hand, and prayed there wasn't anything flesh eating in here, then swam back for the friend, sawing at the rope.

 

Tyler could barely struggle. His lips turning blue. He was never a physical God, so losing conciousness now would be a new record for him. Slowly, the murky depths called to him, dragging him down.

 

Aly finished sawing the rope and dragged the other one to the surface. She coughed, clearing her lungs of water, then glanced at the person she was pulling along. Oh god, it was Tyler. Why was he here? She pushed him onto the shore, climbing out beside him.

 

The boy layed there, eyes half open. He was unresponsive. His lungs stopped working. The heart in his chest beating at a slug's pace. Too soon, he'd see the light.

 

Aly glared at the cat. "Mind telling me what to do here?" she gently pushed on his chest, trying to get the water out, but she was scared of hurting him.

 

OOC: Posting out of pure boredom.

BIC: Aly, almost crying with desperation, shoved all of her being into forcing the boy to cough up water. The cat touched her comfortingly with her tail, and Aly gasped as white light spilled over Tyler. "Take it back!" She told the cat, frozen with fear. "I dont' want that, you'll die without it! Take it back!" Midnight only watched her, amber eyes amused. Mice are more pathetic then we. I wont die from it. Now use it to save him.
