~Bleach: War of the Masked~

Vasto Lorde is too much. I said Hollow NPCs are obviously alright for battles, but no Vasto Lordes and Menos Grande should overall be kept to a minimum.
Also, is that an official kido or a made-up one?

Kyo started to clap his hands slowly as he walked out from behind a tree.

Hearing the noise, Hatsuharu turned around. The moment he laid his eyes on his brother, they widened. "Kyo?" It wasn't a question of hope or confusion. It would have been a question of anger, but the last time he "saw" Kyo, he ended up getting ran over by the Kototsu. His older brother simply nodded as he stopped clapping and his lips turned into a large grin.

"It's really you, isn't it, Kyo?" Sanosuke said as he stepped up next to Hatsuharu and reached behind his shoulder to grab his weapon. Sano was one of the few Shinigami that kept his Zanpakuto on his back, rather than his side. He could literally feel Hatsuharu's anger seething. Normally, he would start questioning Kyo, but Yamata's warning rang in his head. I can't let Hatsu lose control, he thought to himself as he drew his weapon. There was no way he would be able to stop Hatsu from attacking Kyo so the best choice was to attack together.

"He's min-" Hatsu started to say as his eyes narrowed and his right hand gripped the hilt of Raiya.

"Don't be stupid. I'm not letting you fight him alone," Sano interrupted. "We fight him together, or not at all."

Before Hatsuharu could answer, Kyo drew his long blade with his right hand and clapped the hilt with both hands. He separated his hands quickly in a blur that resulted in both hands wielding a released Zanpakuto. Each blade resembled a T. Two normal swords, but the the tips were horizontal. Kyo then lunged forward as a loud laugh burst from his mouth.

 

"Fine then, I shall go first if nobody else is itching to go. Look out below."
She shouted as she came running towards the tunnel in the earth and jumped up into the air and did a back flip as she flew down inside of the tunnel. Letting the pressure of the air currents to keep her up,so basically she was just gliding instead of straight falling forward. Somerie landed on a branch of a tree with her feet and swung around it, pushing off from the branch so she could land on the lower ones. When she got to the fifth from the last branch she let go and allowed herself to fall freely and landed on the shadowy ground below. When she came down she startled a colony of lizard hollows which were foraging near the forest floor, skuttling away quickly into the safety of the shadows they watched her with their red eyes glowing from darkness.But Somerie thought nothing of them and only looked up and shouted up after the rest.
"Okay the coast is clear, you can come down now."

Yamata Jumped with Sasuke at his back and started to fire kidou as Sasuke had his back "Byakurai!" and from one hand a blast of lightning struck a Panther-like Hollow into the face while he said "Ōkasen" and a wide arc of energy blast hit the bat-like and lion-like hollow away. They flipped at the peak of the jump and Sasuke Beared his blade as Yamata grabbed him by the arm and spun him around to slash a Bear-like Hollow and as they landed Sasuke Stabbed his Zanpukuto through a wolf-like hollows mask to kill it.
"Just like our first training session in this Forest" he said as all of a sudden the remaining adjuchas jumped to Yamata's side and charged one Cero between them all. It was too quick for him to react...he felt an elbow drive him into the air and broke the kidou he had cast...

"I think humouring you is out of the question Yamata...You always were naive...I guess i was naive in think that you were getting strong enough to contend" He said as all of a sudden Yamata was sent up into the air with one elbow from Sasuke as Sasuke brought a hand in front of his face and a Mask appeared on his face. With one swift Sonido he had grabbed the Lizard-like Hollows by the face and crush its mask with his bear hand. The Bear-like Hollow dashed at him and charged a Cero in its mouth but Sasuke used Shunpo to stand beside him, grab him by the mask and throw it into the air. It hit the ceiling with a thump. Sasuke threw his Zanpukuto to impale it to the roof.

Yamata hits the ceiling of the menos forest...

"Next" Sasuke asked as the Wounded Lion-like and Bat-Like Hollow came at him. The lion went to slash with its giant paw while the bat built speed to slash him with her wings. Sasuke uses Sonido in order kneel on the ceiling and pull out his Zanpukuto and push himself down to slash both in half sinultaneously. The panther-like hollow came in behind him. As the body of the Bear-like fell Sasuke kicked behind him to send the bear-like hollows body straight at the Panther Like hollow. "I'm done having fun with you" he said Sasuke used Shunpo to get under the remains Hollows and a Cero from his chest and vapourised what was left as a giant blast hit the Ceiling of the Menos Forest and sent part of it crashing down with sand raining upon him. He removed his mask as he reached out to allow Yamata to land in the palm of his hand...

 

Kyo's laugh stopped as his right blade was blocked by Hatsuharu's and his left one by Sanosuke's. Before they could react again, he spun around and kicked Hatsuharu in the chest, sending him flying backwards.

"Hatsu!" Sanosuke yelled, but he had no time to save his friend; Kyo was coming at him quickly with both his T-shaped blades. Sanosuke blocked each attack, spinning around to do it. He gave off the appearance of dancing as he defending himself, but he had no room to counter. In fact, he was being pushed back with each hit. "Kyo! What-happened-to-you?" He asked between the clanging sounds of their blades. He hasn't seen Kyo since before he defected. The stories he had heard, the anger in Hatsuharu's voice when he talked about him, the Shinigami fighting him now, all of this was unfamiliar to his memory of Kyo.

"Ahhhh---hahahaha!" Kyo had opened his mouth to answer, but only laughed harder than before as he kept attacking Sanosuke. Suddenly, he lunged forward quicker and headbutted the Captain to make an opening before pinning him on his back and jumping up. "Ah-" Kyo's laughter ceased as he jumped in the air and slowly opened his mouth, a red ball appearing over his tongue. The cero instantly grew and fired down to his target.

"Crap-Enkosen!" Sanosuke yelled on his back as he held his blade forward and touched it before the Cero could hit him. Light poured from the blade and became a yellow shield, but the Cero was too strong and pushed him through the floor.

After detecting no threat, the Anaconda hollow took down the wall. This had given Lex enough time to escape and to get his swords back. "Hey, hollow! You are a beauty but you sure are stupid!" Lex shouted with a smile. The Anaconda hollow turned to Lex and growled with anger. It opened its jaws and spit out a blob of acidic poison. Lex quickly dodged the blob of poison. The tree behind him quickly dissolved as the blob hit it. Lex sighed with relief. A second late and I would've been toast.

 

...As sand rained down after him he corrected himself as he balanced himself on Sasuke's hand. He jumped off it and said nothing but looked at him seriously.

..."Your just as weak as anyone else Yamata, I'm Dissappointed as you former captain. I want to fight you but as you are i'm surprised they took my word and let you to be a captain..." Sasuke slapped him on the side of the head like he used to do when he got something wrong in train making Yamata quiet irratible. "When you can see me through the eye's a hollow, only then can i see you as my equal" he said as he raised a hand and blasted a Cero through a group of columns to see Kyo fight his brother and captain Sanosuke.

 

Sensing around, Daichi felt a few battles going on but half the group just entered the forest and their combined spiritual pressure was scaring off most of the hollows. The hollows that were strong enough to dare and attack them would likely still die in seconds against such opposition. His orders were to keep an eye on them, making contact was never expressly forbidden. Daichi started flashstepping towards the group that just dug their way into the Menos Forest. It was time to give them a welcome party.

 

Somerie wandered over to one of the trees and brought her palm out from the safety of her silky sleeves and rested it against the dark bark of the tree. She could not feel any sort of warmth coming from the tree itself, it was cold, and seemed to be full of nothing but stone .These weren't just any tree, but how can trees get here in the first place? Were they even trees at all.
" Strange, just strange, they seem to be made purely of quartz. Or perhaps they were once trees and became engulfed by the land?"
She said speaking to herself softly as thoughts raced through her mind. A small spider-like hollow watched her from the safety of it's chamber in the bark. It had not run away like all the others but, it hid in the tree for it's own protection.

 

Daichi suddenly appeared on a high branch of the tree that Somerie was examining. "So they actually did send someone." He said as he stepped off of the branch, falling slowly due to his manipulation of spirit energy. Touching down on the ground he continued "I've been stuck here for a while now. I was starting to think they abandoned me here," he lied. Test two would be judgment; how accurately can they determine friend from foe. Test one had been sensory, could they tell he was there at all. Arashi was on guard, but it seemed he couldn't sense that much. He passed if only just barely.

 

Somerie jumped back a bit, it acted almost as a reflex to his sudden appearance, or anybody's sudden appearance for that matter. She hated when people got too close to her when she was off guard. Somerie had her hand over the hilt of her sword, as if she were read to spring into action any moment. But what confused her is, she did remember this man traveling along with the rest of the group nor did he wear any recognizable badge of his position or rank, since most of the lower seats did not speak much on the trip nor did they speak directly to a captain who was not part of their division for that matter she wouldn't have noticed him, but this, this man was a talker and he talked with confidence, so she would of noticed him he had come with the others.
" What is a lonesome reaper like you doing all the way out here?"
She said, testing him for a answer.

 

"I'm sorry. Where are my manners? Lieutenant of squad twelve, Daichi Ryuunosuke" he said with a bow "I was sent out to investigate 'Los Lobos' and if it had any connection to the disappearance of soul reapers as of late." He said, making up a story for his presence there. "I had been traveling to the realm of the living to see if I could find any clues there, but I was caught by the kototsu and found myself here somehow. Los Lobos must be here but I haven't found anything but Hollows. I've been hiding my spiritual pressure as to not attract too many of them. As for your comment on me reeking of hollows, I'm a vizard that has been in Hueco Mundo for weeks. I would be surprised if I didn't. So what brings you here? Reconnaissance mission of your own since I was unable to return?" Daichi remained calm physically as he was able to recognize signs of stress and negate them consciously, but he wondered how well they would look into his story. The two already seemed uneasy.

 

"AHHH!" Sanosuke yelled as the Cero broke the floor under him and sent him crashing down. He broke several more floors, falling at least a mile before finally hitting the ground. "Damn it, Kyo!" He grunted as he stood up, brushing the dust of himself before realizing something. "Lex?" To his left was the tenth-seat, Lex Griffin with his swords drawn. Before Sanosuke could ask why his Zanpakuto was released, he heard a hiss behind him. He quickly turned around, weilding his blade to find Lex's enemy, a large snake-like Hollow. "I take it you've been fighting this?" He asked him.


"Where is my Captain?!" Hatsuharu yelled as he flew through the air, Raiya above his head. He swung down with both hands, but Kyo simply moved aside, halting his laughter for a large grin and shaking his head. "Answer me!" Hatsu yelled again, slashing his blade horizontally, only to have Kyo jump backwards. Something's off, he noticed about his brother, who hadn't said a word besides his laughter.

 

Daichi put his hands in the air. "Hold on now. What doesn't line up? Surely I at least deserve to know why I'm being struck down." he said. 'He found something that quickly? He's barely asked anything. My story didn't have any flaws that base, did it?' he thought to himself but continued with Arashi just the same. "I think I see what happened. When I got stuck here and was unable to return, they marked my disappearance just the same as all the others and replaced me. Am I wrong?"

 

"Captain Sanosuke?" Lex said with a confused expression. So, I'm not alone in this forest....there's still some hope for me. Lex nodded "Yeah, this is one tough hollow. Be careful, he throws acid and he's very quick."

"Hehe, the more the merrier..." the Anaconda hollow hissed. "I wonder how soul reapers taste like...especially a captain..."

Lex laughed. "Oh! So you can talk!?"

 

I have to hurry back to Hatsu, Sanosuke thought as he held his blade out horizontally and sideways, so the tip was pointing directly to his left, He can't take Kyo on by himself, not after the stories I've heard. He turned his head to flash Lex a grin, "Thanks for the warning, Lex. It's a good thing you have your Zanpakuto released already. We're going to finish this quick, alright?" Before Lex could answer, Sanosuke turned to face the Hollow again and raised his blade, putting on a larger grin and donning the enthusiastic attitude his squad knew him for. "Say good morning, Miroku!" The command was said with laughter as he raised his Zanpakuto over his head and started spinning it in his right hand. The blade was spinning so fast that it became a blur. When he suddenly stopped it, it wasn't a sword anymore. Over his head, in his right hand, was a long staff, almost as tall as him. It was light blue in color with a large ring on one end, golden charms hanging from it. On the other end, the staff turned into a small blade. He swung it down, pointing the ringed end towards the Hollow. "And you can say good night," he smirked. That was a really bad line, Miroku told him in his head, But as long as I can have some fun, who cares?!


Kyo was moving backwards in a smooth motion, using each of his blades to effectively block Hatsu's. His face seemed to be frozen in a grin, and would only change briefly when he laughed.

Something's weird about him, I can't feel Due, Raiya told Hatsuharu as she kept making contact with Due's blades. Yeah, I know, Hatsuharu replied, but he was too angry to think about what was going on. His brother, the traitor, was right in front of him. He had already taken one of his captains, could be behind the disappearance of another, and had just blasted a third (albeit not Hatsu's captain, but his friend) through the floor. "That's it!" Hatsu yelled as Kyo backed up into a tree. "You're getting it now, Kyo!" He thrust his blade forward, only to have Kyo drop one of his and catch Raiya with his bare hand. "Wha-?" Hatsu looked up to see Kyo's face changing. It started to blur, the air around it being distorted and then the effect reversed, leaving a Hollow mask on his face. Kyo's mask was mostly dark and light blue in the center, with 4 protrusions on each side. He's using it this early?!
