~A Haunting Fortress on the Horizon~

Seeing how she was just there but not really there, Kirie continued to listen with her mouth shut. She adjusted her bag as she walked and listened to the conversations about horses and finding more of the Veritas Magus. She saw the girl pull out a strange instrument, heard the melody, and saw the horses coming. Kirie smiled as she watched the horses coming towards them. "How convenient," she said in a low voice.

 

Julie smiled and nodded her head. "Well, that's good." The girl's smile faded as she raised her head to look up at the sky, trying to remember what the town elder had told her when he gave her the Veritas Magus. "We should probably look the others that have the other Veritas Magus," she muttered towards Raphael, turning her attention back towards the boy.

 

"And why should we do that? Is there some kind of trouble going around nowadays?" Raphael didn't hear about anything terrible happening in the world. He was only focusing on his life. Maybe I need to ask around more.

BIC: Mya looked towards the direction of the horses and sighed in relief. Now they had transport that won't hurt their feet after an eternty of walking. Good thing we have some transport. No more sore feet. She walked upto one and patted its nose. The horse seemed to enjoy Mya's touch and neighed in excitement. She smiled to herself. At least I'm there's something I have others don't.

 

Dyre just stood and watched as Varil rode off, faster than she knew she could catch up. Even so, he had made it rather clear what he might do if he caught her following him again. Dyre put her machetes back in their sheaths, and turned around. The mysterious black flames had disappeared. She tiredly shuffled over to the nearest building and leaned against it, her eyes closed. Great. In a fit of sudden rage at her own stupidity, she turned around and slammed her fist into the stone wall, growling as a wave of pain sailed up her arm. A whinny snapped her out of her tantrum. She followed where the noise had come from; around the side of the building. She was met with a startled horse. But a horse nonetheless, tethered to a nearby fence. She grinned, the pain in her arm now forgotten.

 

Mya turned around abruptly and saw the red blob. She whipped out her bow and fired a good volley of arrows at it, keeping a distance from it. Apparantly, she never faced a monster like this, so she didn't know what to do much against it unless fire and hope it dies.

 

'Well this is perfect timing,' Kirie thought as she quickly ducked behind a tree and out of sight from the red blob. Spotting a large stick she bent down and snatched it up and then held it close to her body as she listened to the noises. She couldn't fight. She also figured that she possessed the weakest Veritas Magus of them all. She would just be in the way, so hiding was the second option. Keeping quiet, she just stared at her stick. Thoughts of being useless overwhelmed her. They've been haunting her all her life, and now the feeling was stronger than ever. 'Oh well,' was all she could think of to say to herself. 'Oh well that I am weak. The others can probably take care of theirselves just fine without my help anyways. Let them call me a coward, let them sneer at me for not being part of the fight... I'm not even here anyways.' Taking in a silent deep breath, she leaned her head against the tree and waited.

 

Lyn's wings began to flutter and in an instant she was in the air. A safe distance away from the blob. She wouldn't have to worry about getting touched by it. She summoned Arcus, she felt a power tingle through her hand when the bow had materialized. She smiled, she loved that feeling. She pulled back on the bow string, wind rushing, forming an arrow on the arrow rest. She let go of the string, the arrow puncturing the blob.

 

Lyn watched as the Red Blob split into two. Wasn't expecting that. She thought to herself. Feeling as though she only caused more trouble. She head Serin call her name, telling her to hit a tree. She thought for a moment and got was he was thinking. I bigger arrow... She thought. The young Nephilim drew her bow again. She concentrated, closing her eyes, feeling Wind rush through her hair. More than normal. She opened her eyes to find this arrow significantly larger than a normal one. She smiled. She aimed towards the trunk of the tree Serin was standing near. Lyn let go of the bow string, the arrow now soaring through the air headed straight for the trunk. The tree now about to fall over. Right on Serin. Lyn flew swiftly over to his aid grabbing him out of the way of the falling tree.

 

Mya frowned as the blob split into two and jumped behind a tree. Shooting an arrow won't help the situation as it will split to even more enemies. She heard Serin talk and looked at him. Tree? Cut it down? She looked back at the blob. Was she trying to possibly cut it down on them?

 

Seeing that a tree was falling down in a hurry, Kirie quickly made her escape away from the tree and got out of harm's way. When she turned around, she saw that she lost the others. Kirie sighed out and closed her eyes for a moment while listening to the tree fall in the distance. "Already to prove as the useless one, eh Kirie? Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing about now." Kirie opened her eyes, keeping them peeled for the others. She could sense them. They had the magical things that brought them together anyways. 'I'll wait a bit,' she thought as she stood there. There was no rush. They had it under control.

 

Mya heard the loud crash and jumped. She looked around and saw the 2 blobs done for. She stepped out and brushed her shirt. Think everone is still in one piece. She looked around and frowned. Say, aren't we missing one person?

 

Hearing the boy of the group calling out for the others, Kirie pinpointed the location and walked towards there. She wasn't so far away after all. It was just an illusion. Raising an eyebrow, she looked down to the place where she knew Luna was. 'Did I accidently use it...?' Brushing the thought aside, Kirie stepped into the clearing. She heard one of the girls mentioning about someone missing and smiled a bit. So she was noticed after all. "I'm right here," she said while standing ontop of the fallen tree to spot the others. "So we're all okay then?"

 

Lyn landed after being pushed away by Serin. She barely heard him mutter his thank you. She didn't bother to say you're welcome, he didn't seem too grateful anyway. She scanned the landscape seeing that everyone was there and accounted. She walked over to the fallen tree, "Good work guys." She said smiling.

 

"What work?" Kirie asked with a smirk as she looked down at Lyn from where she was standing on the tree. "You and Serin did all the work. I was more of an observer." Kirie chuckled a little and then looked down at the stick she was holding. "Guess I won't need this," she said, tossing it to the side. "So now which way do we go, oh fearless leader?" Kirie looked directly at Serin, waiting for an answer from him. He was the one leading them. Were they going to stop here? Or keep moving on?

 

Mya brushed her hair and nodded. She made a shrill whistle and the horses jerked upright as if they were statues and then Mya made a clicking sound which made one of the horses gallop to her. She jumped on the horse and looked back at the others waiting for them to be ready.
