✖ T E R M S

✚ Game Board - The Game Board is the playing field of the game on which the Pawns reside. This game board can change in occurrence to the Players wishes. This means that everything from the location, to the relationship of the pawns can be changed by the Coordinator. For example, at one point, the Game Board location may be at a school campus while in the next match, the location may be in some desert somewhere. The Game Board cannot change in the middle of a match nor can it be in the - actual - human realm, it can only imitate it.

✚ Valens - This is what everyone here is! This is your rank! Valens [ immortals ] come from diverse regions and their powers significantly differ, however each one of them desire reign over the same land. To win their right to their world and eventually be granted Godhood, the Valens formed a game to play. Winner takes all.

You can be born a Valen, or you can become one from winning one of the Game Boards. [ Like 100 Days. ] Just because you're a Valen doesn't mean you're playing the game. The ones playing to become God are referred to as Players. There are also many other ranks of immortality that we'll get into later.

✚ Pawns - Pawns are the pieces on a Game Board. All of the kids in 100 Days were pawns. They don't technically exist. Meaning when they die they're just unexisted forever. They're basically make believe. Each pawn represents a Player above the Game Board [ though they don't know that ]. Sometimes several pawns belong to one Player. A Player creates a pawn and gives them memories, feelings, hopes, dreams, fears, complexes, etc. Each pawn is created with the intent of either winning the game, or helping push things in a certain direction.

✚ Rooks - Rooks are the additional game pieces that are thrown onto the Game Board by the Valens. They have no hearts [ on the Game Board ] and their decisions and actions are controlled by the Players that cast them. Their sole purpose is to be used to manipulate the Pawns and assist their Player in winning the Game. However, despite this, they are the second most valuable pieces, even more valuable than the Players themselves [ as the Players cannot physically enter upon the Game ]. A Player is able to get close to the Pawns and interact with them through their Rooks without breaking a rule. Rooks are still a risk to take, nevertheless. Rooks are capable of forming hearts [ their own agendas ] and becoming a permanent piece in the Game. If this happens, the individual Player responsible of casting it out is disqualified and the Rook takes their place.

✚ Coordinators - [ aka: Game Masters ] are responsible for the creation of a Game Board and have a lot more control over what happens [ declarations ] and what pawns exist there. I mean, technically a Coordinator is still a Valen, but a Valen is not necessarily a Coordinator. This is what Crestatia was in 100 Days. In other words, for y'all newbies, this is who was killing everyone off in 100 Days. You can think of God as the Coordinator of this role play.

✚ Declarations - These are simply commands.This is what the Coordinators use to change things on a Game Board. Such as 'Declaration: Jayn is now a fish'. I would turn into a fish. Or, 'Jayn's room is now hot pink'.

Welcome to Aether! A celestial world of perpetual and mildly irregular splendor. There are many negatives to having an ongoing battle between powerful immortals raging on for a millennium, but one notable positive is the near overwhelming amount of diversity that spills over the land. Once a Valen obtains a region, they are free to do as they wish with it. Ambitious Valens with the power and resources may completely change the climate or architecture of their region, causing nearly every district in Aether to differ greatly and better suit the desires of those who choose to live there. That is - until the land is taken by someone with vision again.

There are lands made completely of elements like fire or water, lands created solely to mirror certain popular countries, cities of Earth, or even planets. There are lands of perpetual night or morning, lands dedicated to specific arts or crafts, or those that only permit entry to one type of immortal. The possibilities are endless.

Valen's who would rather not be subject to such changes may choose to live in a static region. These areas are under contractual agreement not to change drastically without need. Generally, in these places, life most imitates the monotonous structures of modern society on Earth.

The majority of you should not own very much land. That means that not each of you will have so much to create something as ambitious as a world dedicated to dragon herding or reserved for witches only. Instead, most of you will reside over quaint cities with a small population and a certain quiet specialty, like your famous pumpkin bread or unique jewelry shops. People may not have ever heard of your region before because you've not quite made a name for yourself yet.

A lot of you will be sore about losing in 100 Days, and one of your small [ or larger ] regions will have been taken from you by one of the winning Valens. A few of you may be left with nothing, and residing in someone else's region. Those of you who own land are expected to travel between them and look after your people. If you've chosen to neglect your residents - or run them out with harsh conditions, you may have a bad reputation in Aether.

Where you reside is completely up to you.

In a small static region far from the other districts, and hidden behind a thick billow of vanilla clouds stands an towering, grandiose castle of white and silver. This is the Hall of Games - your destination. The Hall of Games is a peculiar area that shifts and changes over time. New rooms are added and removed with the completion of each game, presumably by God himself, and no immortal has ever taken the time to fully explore the castle, most assuming it would be impossible.

There are regions in Aether where certain powers are muted or banned, but the Hall of Games is the only place where all forms magic is weakened severely. This is likely a measure taken to insure that in the heat of a Game the participating Valens don't all kill each other.

Today marks the beginning of a new game created and spearheaded by Marina. Each Valen is to report to the Hall of Games and take their seat in the main foyer, bringing with them any notes on the previous game and preparing to bet their land, review Marina's pawns and throw in any of their own before the start of the game.

The Aether, a beautiful place filled with each Valen's own "heaven", big or small, a paradise no matter. Kuru, the witch of suffering, in other words a sadist, had grown upset from the loss she endured of the last game played. Land had been sucked away from her, which simply meant less pets to play with. Some land was still better than none. Kuru couldn't stomach requesting anyone's assistance, thus making it torture to request to stay with another of the Valens.

Now the stage was set for a new game. The conditions were high and the reward plentiful. If she could win, land in plenty would return to her, even more. The idea alone made her tingle, licking her lips to be prepared for the upcoming feast of victory. Innocent she might have looked, but inside was a demon ready to create untold suffering for the losers of this game. Now the only thing left was to redraw her methods of victory. The original did not work clearly, thus the new model would hope for success.

Arriving at the Hall was simple enough. It seemed she was one of the first to arrive as well. Odds looked good in her eyes, but that truly was her own pride viewing the situation. What to do next was the thought. Sacrificing too much would leave me with little next to nothing yet not enough would make me appear weak. Lets wait for others to make offers, then I shall place my bet. Her hands wrapped around each other as a dark grin crossed her face.

❥ Anticipation was making her feel sick to her stomach. Marina was not sure how much longer she could last without throwing up. She had not been this nervous in a long while. The others would be joining her soon and she was about to give the greatest performance of her lifetime. Everything had to be perfect. Each detail needed to be exact. Her game would be the only one that mattered to her. She was only giving it one shot. Marina had little land and it was not worth fractioning it out. If she did lose, then that just meant she would no longer have a need to be around these other people. That part never seemed so bad. No longer would she have to have anything to do with these damned games. That actually seemed like the best part. If she lost, then her life could receive a means of normalcy. This was no way to live.

Her shaking hands twisted around her most recent letter. She wrote one every day -- or what seemed like days. It was hard to tell time in this place. She was never one for journals or diaries, but the letters have been a way for her to catalog her time spent here. As time passed further, more guilt and loneliness set in. She did not know how to spend her time in this foreign place. They all expected her to be like the rest of them -- enjoying the fact that she won. She could not. Marina despised this place. She only went to gatherings out of obligation and socialized with the men when it was convenient for her. As much as the Valen liked to think they were better than one another, it did not really take her much prying to figure out some of their secrets.

Marina's own secrets were few. These monsters had plenty of time to learn every detail that made her clock tick before she even did. She needed to make some serious game changes so that they could no longer read her. While aspects of her personality remained the same, she withdrew from her desire to be the center of attention and withdrew to the life of a moderate recluse. This life was not for her, but that did not mean she would let it destroy her. She could play their silly games in an attempt to get what she wanted -- who she wanted.

At the sound of footsteps, she folded up the letter and slipped it in her dress. She straightened out at the sight of Kuru entering the room. It was beginning. Soon, they would all arrive. The curtains would draw. The show would begin. All the pieces would be set in place. Now was the time for no more anxiety. She had to do the best she could to give the others a show just as good as her predecessor. Marina could not compare to Crestatia, but she would try.♕​

It shouldn't have been such a surprise to her small family that Ursa decided to join in this game. She had grown restless in her snow covered home. They would have killed her if they had only realized she had gone to bet all her land with the casting of her rooks. It was the only true way to live in her opinion. Absolute freedom or damning exile. That was the ultimatum she gave herself when she set out from her home. There would be a harsh win for her or nothing at all. She would not return to Eis empty handed.

Ursa arrived in the morning, laden with a sample of Eis' main export. It was much too warm in the Hall of Games for a gift of furs, but her traders insisted that it would increase their sales. Being ever the agreeable host, she obliged them with the opportunity to show off what the little city could do. She sold many of the pieces on her journey to the Hall, sending the money back to the merchants and tailors. She didn't need it where she was going.

Despite the heat, the Hall was quite beautiful. Had she been one to express emotions, she surely would have gasped at the sight. She felt the drain on her power as soon as she entered the door, unsurprised though because of the stories that the old God had made it so. Still, she doubted that she could have covered the whole foyer with ice any longer. She removed her traveling coat and tilted her head at the two Valens already in attendance.

Her remaining furs were placed on the table in front of her. She wouldn't actively trade, but if someone wanted them, she wouldn't mind negotiating. Ursa sat back in the chair, resting her head against the seat as she stared at the ceiling pensievely. She was so ready to get it over with that now that she was here she had no idea what to do with herself. She considered playing with her ice or go off exploring. The thought of even communicating never even crossed her mind.

"Thank you...Altair, Casey...and even you Septimus...you all played well..."

He was a bit fatigued, but finally the long project that he had been working on had finally been finished. The observer merely placed his pen down upon the desk before him and let out a sigh as he leaned back against the chair he sat upon and smiled softly as he closed the book before him and wrote the words 100 days upon the cover. "hmm...maybe I should name it The Girl in Watercolors....nah.." Asterion said with a small chuckle as he shook his head in order to get the thought out.

Resting his head back, Asterion merely stared up at the ceiling and merely sighed. He was not really angry that he lost this game, sure he was disappointed a tad, but the story that was formed made up for it. Over time he had won a great deal of land, but at the same lost a great deal as well. Land was insignificant to him, but it still wasn't something he would merely give away. Maybe if another had won the game he would have been upset, but he was pleased to see that the psychic girl had won the game.

Asterion wasn't like the rest, he did not see them as mere pawn to merely throw away, but something more. Marina was very special to one of his pawns and Asterion knew that this pawn would have been extremely pleased to have seen her win it all and continue to live even though it meant his end. For this reason Asterion would honor that pawn and honor the girl that walked out alive.

Out of the land that he called his own, Asterion head off towards the one destination in mind. It was time for the players to gather and time for another game to begin. Would it turn out like 100 days? or maybe turn out to be better? he really was looking forward towards it and to see if the new coordinator would be able to handle the responsibility of the job.

Asterion was not one to use his powers and his negation skill was the only one he usually used so the power reduction that the Hall of Games held barely bothered him in the slightest. As he walked in he noticed the three valen that had already arrived. He stared over at Marina and merely placed his hand over his chest and lowered his head in a bow. "Greetings, psychic Mari, so nice to see you" Asterion said. She was one who was born of high class so it was only fitting that he greeted her in such a way. Rising he turned to the other two and gave them a smile "and nice to see you two as well" Asterion said before turning towards Marina and crossed his arms "so how are you feeling today? nervous?" Asterion asked deciding to form up some conversation before everything started.

 

One. Two. Three. Three birds that aren't mine... their marking say it all...

Prism walked about the nature of his land, it was covered in snow but he did not have that stop him from wearing a tank top as he walked about. The chill was a thrill to him and kept him wanting to move around. His land was reduced, significantly. All he had left was this hill. It was by no means a small hill, but it wasn’t a mountain. The hill was also not occupied by residents, it was there for more of a scenic view. It allowed for animals and plants to thrive without being disturbed too much. Surrounding the hill was where everyone lived. The entirety of the base of the hill was filled with homes, businesses, and restaurants. It was more of a really large village than a city, and everyone seemed happy to live on his land. He checked up on them to make sure they were okay from time to time, but never really bugged them or pried into their lives. They tended to respect him for that, viewing him as a gentleman for it. He just knew he would be easily bored if he tried.
He climbed up the hill, breathing a bit heavily as he did so and couldn't figure out for the life of him whose birds were flying over his land. He didn't mind it, if they wanted to take residence it was fine, but he was a little angry about it because he figured it could have been Ambrose’s birds, and he didn’t want Ambrose to think he was entitled to land that was not his. It didn’t really seem like Ambrose to take up Manifest Destiny. But he knew Ambrose wasn't the only one who could have birds. Daphne may have had her own birds, and so could have Gale, heck even Rosaline. The more he thought about it the more he realized many of the Players could have had birds. But he didn't mind it, because even though they weren't is, he liked the company. He didn't have a family to really run to, he didn't want one. He liked company, but he didn't like having to talk to them. He tended to spend most of his time with plants. He didn't have any powers to affect plants but he tried his best to keep them alive. When they died it got a little scary though. One time he found out one of his Willows was dying and spent hours on end studying to figure out a way to keep it alive. However, in the end he had to come to the understanding resurrection was not possible through any means. But at least he tried.

Prism remembered as he picked up a pine cone that today was the start of Marina's game. He was excited for it, but he completely forgot it was at that moment and he hoped he would have better luck with this game. 100 Days was by no means his strong point. He lost his bet early on, very early on in fact. He only bet on one Pawn thinking it would work out. He had done enough messing around with the gameboard to at least get something out of it, mainly in entertainment at that point. He was pretty sure he angered enough Players with that too. He kept his pawn to himself, because he was rather embarrassed about it because if he had been paying more attention to the game, he probably could have changed his bet in time. However it was too late by the time he realized it.

If he had been paying even more attention he could have fixed it. Instead, he started playing around with a look alike but it wasn't even his pawn! How he had missed that little fact he would never truly know. But he wouldn't make that mistake again in any other games. At least he had fun with his little piece that had no chance of winning. He was the reason some of the Players won in the first place, or better yet the reason Marina had won. But he wasn't going to just walk over to them and rub that in, it only made him look like more of an idiot. Who gets proud of helping someone else win?

Oh right, the game is today.​

Who's birds are these? Who has golden eagles? This is really going to annoy me.

Prism made a mental note to ask about it later, and collapsed into the snow with a smile on his face. One of the eagles flew onto his stomach and he let out a laugh which only succeeded in scaring the eagle away. After a few more seconds of laying down, the boy was already bored and got up quickly off of the ground and placed his hands in his pockets as he walked down the hill. His eyes analyzed everything in his view, observing the hustling bustling village at the base of the hill.
When he made it only a few feet within the village he heard someone shout his name and he let out a quick sigh as he waited for them to show up and he tilted his head with curiosity. The one who had run up to him was the local butcher, he didn't remember having a butcher, but he went with it anyway. They said how they noticed the increase in the Golden Eagles and said they were eating the mice he fed to… something. The butcher let out a quick, “I want them gone, it needs to eat something.” and Prism lifted up his hand and twisted it a bit before making a pushing noise towards the butcher.

“C a n it e eat something e elsee”

The echo didn't sound too glorious but it got the point across and he mentioned something about pigeon before he ran off. Prism rolled his eyes and continued on his previous path.

He arrived at his lovely abode in a relatively short amount of time, he was greeted by his dog. He hadn't named it, he had it for what may have been forever. Perhaps it was... no. He knew he had after he had become a Valen. Not before. He didn't bother keeping anything from before and gradually blanked his game out of his mind. Every now and again, things would flash into his mind. And he hated it every single time. He used to be so slow, so self centered and never caring about anyone else. He was now the opposite, and why shouldn't he be proud of that? Why should it still get to him after who knows how many years.

What was I thinking about?​

The game, you dumbass, the game is today.

Prism pet the dog and went to grab his supply bag he always brought with him to a game just in case: emergency equipment, and mirrors. It also contained a notebook he wrote his notes about his game in a code. He wrote everything in a code, and not to keep it a secret or anything. He just needed to keep his attention with it, and if he was figuring out his own code, it kept his attention long enough for him to read what he wrote. Prism pulled out one of mirrors and walked outside and held up the mirror.

Go.

He transported himself into the mirror, and went quickly into a puddle. His appearance showing in the reflection before he took a deep breath and transported himself rapidly to other reflective surfaces. He kept on going about with this pattern because it was his fastest way to get to the Hall. When he reached it, he popped out of the reflection and stretched to straighten out his spine. Good thing he was flexible.

Prism made his way into the hall and towards the main foyer to see that there was not a real party of people yet. Only four. He found it rather unfortunate and if it weren’t a game day or something he would have turned around and left. Instead he made his way further in and stayed around his seat, but he himself did not take a seat yet. It had not started yet, and therefore he could not sit yet. He grabbed a chocolate out of his bag and ate it instead, while looking over at the others in the room without saying anything. The only thing that appeared to be going on was a conversation between Marina and Asterion.​

How long had it been?
Sangria gazed at her latest masterpiece of artistic pleasure.
She rested her chin at the counter behind the dim bar, letting her slender arms dangle and her gaze wander to the war-torn remnants of last night's party. Tables strewn across like carpets on a rug. Piles of rolling bottles, scattered, broken in places, releasing bloody oceans of dried wine and absinthe and blackened stout that formed measly puddles on the cherry hardwood and glinted menacingly in the warm twilight. The scent of gunpowder mingled with the taste of joy and ecstasy, and a vapour of dizziness floated over the passed out Valens strewn among her sleeping butlers and handmaidens. They barricaded the edges of the seats, sat upon the tables, and yet even some decided to pile up on the floor, empty martini glasses dangling from their fingers. The atmosphere was thick with the respite of entertainment and the decay of a feathery, fleeting enjoyment that Sangria tasted in the winds, and the lamps above continued their periodic, endless flickering, guarding the denizens below in a play of light and shadow.

Sangria smiled and slowly raised herself off of the bar counter, rising to her full height to gaze dimly at the boundaries of the creaky old Damn Old Man, still quaint and roomy as she dreamed her newest alcoholic establishment to be. Sangria rubbed her eyes and gently cleared a lock of crimson hair out of her face. Ah ... she wondered if these friends were able to handle everything. It would be terrible, Sangria mused, if they decided that they couldn't handle a little bit of drink, could they?

She sighed and raised her hand, only just barely twitching the ends of her fingers.
There we go. That should do it.
Those lovelies should have enough feeling in their bodies now. ❤

She walked away from the counter and reached a small mahogany desk hidden in the corner, far away from the calamitous celebrations of hours before. Hm. Was there a leftover glass here?
Ah. There we go.
She picked up a small crystal tumbler lying on its side by the wall and brought it close to her face.
Mhmhm. This would be a problem ... they might be out of alcohol soon. She stopped and darted her eyes around. The next brew wouldn't be ready for a while if they wanted to reach the quality target.

Ah! As usual.
She sighed again and snapped her fingers. Slowly, some of the water vapour in the air condensed in her glass, and with a stroke of her thumb along the edge of the water line, the liquid turned a deep crimson. Sangria smiled to herself and took a quick swig of it, letting the tart sweetness flow through her throat.

Hm.
She paused, before snapping her fingers.
Immediately, a handmaiden, her black-and-white uniform torn and her red veil slightly askew, woke from her slumber by in the arms of a headbanded Valen lad and sprung into action, scuttling towards Sangria. She stopped and stood in front of her, at attention, as Sangria carefully observed her entire being.

"You're in shambles, my dear."
"Please excuse me, brewmistress," She quickly attempted to readjust her veil, but Sangria gently touched her hands with her own.
"No need, hun. ❤ Just enjoy the moment, will you? You're all much too stressed for your own good." She briefly looked back to her glass. "Taste this for me, would you?"
The handmaiden complied, releasing her hands from Sangria's touch, and grasping the tumbler in her hands. With a masterful dexterity, she took a quick swig and downed the entire drink. Sangria chuckled to herself and intently stared the entire way.

"Thoughts?"
The handmaiden paused, thinking deeply. "Very ... strong. I-- my legs feel a bit unsteady--"
Ahahaha! Sangria laughed and clasped the handmaiden by the shoulder. "Just what I wanted to hear, hun! ❤ " She brought her face close to the handmaiden's red veil, smelling the alcohol and quietly analyzing the taste. "Tell me what it tastes like."
"Bittersweet."
"Bittersweet?"
The handmaiden paused. "It might have great selling potential."
Sangria released her grip on the handmaiden and twirled around to sit on the small table in the corner. She raised her legs, letting one of her heels fall to the ground.

"It is the taste of ecstasy, hun. Of being sans inhibitions. These Valens know a good party then it hits them, right? ❤"
The handmaiden nodded. "It is very strong, brewmistress."
"Oh, it is. It is." Sangria nodded, licking her lips and briefly closing her eyes, raising her head towards the dim wooden ceiling. "Tell me," She began. "I hope that these immortals did not get too painful in their partying?"
"No, brewmistress," the handmaiden replied. "There were a few who helped kept things under control in particular."
Mmm.
"Oh? ❤"
"Yes. While-- while you were out managing the brew caskets."
"Very good."
The handmaiden bowed deeply. Sangria, her eyes still closed, posing like a leaning flamingo, twirled her fingers around, letting the water vapour of the air condense in the handmaiden's glass before once again turning a deep crimson. "Please use this to bring the others back to their senses. We must clear out our newest establishment, after all."
"If I may ask, brewmistress."
Sangria was quiet, deep in her inebriated contemplation.
"Well," the handmaiden asked. "You have already tried sharpening their senses with your own powers?"
Sangria opened her eyes and leaped delicately off the table, placing her foot back in her low heel. She smiled quietly and walked closer to the handmaiden. Was she a new one? She hadn't yet had the time to know her name. Shame ... shame ...

"My dear ..." Sangria curled a finger around a lock of the handmaiden's hair, taking her glass in her hand and refilling it with the crimson wine. "Drink up. You needn't worry about my personal power convictions. Hehe. ❤"
The handmaiden stared quietly at Sangria, tense but without any explicit resistance, as if near a direct relative whom one was distant to. Sangria giggled and helped adjust the handmaiden's veil, before strutting off in the other direction.

But she paused midway through the door, before turning around.
Mmm ...
"Hun, it wouldn't be a bother if you collected a few old plastic bottles for me, would it?"

This was the place, was it? How grandiose. Aaaah ...
Behind her stood two black-dressed butlers, their faces covered with white veils, and the same red-veiled handmaiden from before. She snapped her fingers, and the trio moved to the door, opening it gently.
Sangria swayed her legs forward and virtually danced forward into the hall, carrying her purse close to her and observing the cold silver light filtering from the far reaches of the hall. She frowned and looked at the congregation that had already taken their seats, her gaze careful from behind her black circular sunglasses.

What a boring crowd! ❤
They looked frown-faced and nervous, the lot of them. Some immortals just never understood, did they?
She snapped her fingers and her three employees scuttled out of the hall, closing it behind them. Sangria's heels clicked loudly on the speckled marble, and-

Oh!

At the very end, she the new face by Asterion.
Sangria smiled and sat next to her prey. The future coordinator.
Marina.
Sangria tasted the name like a savoury whiskey.

"So you are the one who recently achieved immortality, is it?" She began, taking three or four bottles of water out of her purse and placed them gently on a nearby table. "It is a shame you have to come here. It has been a while, but everyone here doesn't know a good time when they see one, hun. ❤" She flicked her wrist and the first bottle of water turned into a pale rose. She grabbed it and uncapped the top, sipping it tenderly, before quietly placing it down. "Tastes like water. I'm not surprised that I can't form a good brew when all this dirty negation is fucking everything up, huh? Try a little, will you? You look tense as a board, dear." She flicked her wrist and the second bottle of water turned into an even paler rose liquid, giving it to Marina. Sangria looked towards one of the individuals -- the biological witch, if her memory was right -- and rolled her first bottle near the part of the room she was standing by, winking and returning back to Marina. "I made it extra weak just for you. We don't want our coordinator ... shall we say, keeling over, do we? Hehe. ❤" She winked and leaned back in the chair, taking off her sunglasses and holding the frames to her scarlet lips. She continued to look at Marina.

"You're a special one. You allowed yourself to exist." Sangria flicked her wrist and the third bottle of water transmogrified into a pale whiskey. She looked up at the man on the other side of Marina -- Asterion, was that his name? -- and winked at him, tossing the newly-brewed bottle his way. "Be my guest, you big lug."

She turned back to Marina. "It takes quite a bit of willpower to achieve that, hun. I expect delicious things from such a lovely-looking fresh-meat coordinator. Ah ... it almost hurts to say I couldn't see you in action through my own pawns!" She giggled. "But then I wouldn't be able to pursue my own enterprises. We Valens do have lives, you know." She took another swig of the weak wine. "It's why we decide to play games like these. God can only divide paradise in a certain way, you know. Beats me if I knew the reason why, hun.❤"

She took the fourth and final bottle and snapped her fingers. The drink did not change colour, but she uncapped it and took a deep whiff. The bitter tartness stung at her nose.

Sangria placed the bottle in front of Marina, next to the weak rosy wine. "Still weak, but you might like vodka instead. You'll definitely need something strong and sensory-depriving to survive in this cut-throat place, dear. ❤" She took back the rosy bottle and gazed at the lad sitting at the farthest end, away from the others.

"You look the most tense, boy."
She walked over to him, keeping her distance, and placed it next to his feet before returning to Marina. What was his name again? She actually did not remember.
How strange. Maybe she had too much to drink, but some Valen were famous for being able to hide their identities.

She sat and waited, mimicking Asterion's question.
"Don't tell me you're nervous about this little game, are you?"

A bubbly giggle emerged from behind a blossoming tree, its leaves lavender and newborn flowers a soft shade of pink with a more intense color towards the bud. The bark and branches were a light blue color, which complimented the spring green grass quite nicely. The young Valen loved to color coordinate her surroundings, and having her own patch of land was perfect for experimentation. In Philía // φιλία, the sun always shone and there was a everlasting pastel rainbow across the sky [ despite the fact that it never rained in her region ]. The only signs of civilization were her house [ which doubled as a bakery shoppe simply titled "Kardia // καρδία" ], a small hamlet [ "Chamógelo // χαμόγελο" ] with a population of around two hundred and fifty, and the bell tower [ "Kampána // καμπάνα" ]. Despite the differences the residents have with each other, everyone agrees that they simply adore Daphne's treats, especially her famed "cubears [ cupcake + bear ]". One could say that Philía // φιλία was essentially a Utopian society, with there being more nature than civilization and almost no disputes whatsoever.

More rustling began behind the tree. "Oh I see~! It must be so nice to soar the skies, yeah? I've always thought about what it would be like to fly... maybe you could teach me sometime Miss Iris!" She chuckled cutely at the bird, her smile beaming. Suddenly, a delightful ring chimed across Philía // φιλία, causing the girl to shoot up in response. She sincerely apologized to the bird, waving it goodbye as she began to run. "Oh, I'm so sorry, but I have to go! It's very important!" The bird chirped and flew away as Daphne hurriedly headed towards The Hall of Games. She couldn't be late, no matter what!

The girl exhaled deeply, placing her hands on her knees to catch her breath."Here... at last... thank goodness!" After taking a moment to compose herself, she stood upright gracefully and flipped the bothersome hair out of the face. A cheeky grin grew naturally on her face as she walked in. The building held an aura of... professionalism and it almost made her uncomfortable.

It appeared that others were already there [ including Arius ]. Daphne waved in their general direction and skipped over to join them, stopping suddenly as she spotted a familiar face... Mimi! Daphne approached the girl and Gotterdammerung and greeted them both, then asked the duo, "How've you two been? It's been a while since we've seen each other! I've missed you guys! I've been meaning to visit but I always get distracted with baking and redesigning, surely you understand! But I promise that I'll come over soon, okay? Oh... oh, or maybe you could even come and visit me and we could bake together!!" She was practically jumping around at this point, joy and excitement stimulating every fiber of her being.

"It's going to be the best!"

Rosaline quickly closed her book. She looked around, slightly dazed, seemingly forgetting that she was back in the real world. As she walked around her room full of books, before she slipped over one that had been lying open on the floor. With a crash, she fell. "Ow..." She muttered to herself, feeling her head with her fingers. That bonk on the head seemed to remind her where she needed to be today. She hurried to get up, her face red with embarrassment. She quickly changed, and tried to make herself look more presentable. She took in a deep breath, before deciding that she'd better get moving. She packed up a few of her favorite books for the journey, along with some information she had about the previous games, and off she went.

She left her beloved library, and looked outside her door. Everyone seemed to be very happy here, using the knowledge Rosaline had given them. She walked through her town, looking around nervously. She normally came through to make sure everyone was ok. But she didn't like them to confront her if something wasn't. She wondered how much she could find out about the Players. She realized the majority of them was probably be secretive. She also realized they may not see her as a threat. She nodded to herself, as if she was trying to show her confidence. She skipped, as her head filled with many more questions.

She ran into the main foyer, thinking she had been late. She stopped her in tracks, after seeing that there were a good chunk of competition here. Her face turned a bright red, and she looked away, hoping no body noticed how frantic she was. She took out a pen and paper, and looked around the room. She scribbled some things down. She looked around the building in awe. It was really spectacular. Nervously she smoothed out her dress. She looked around curiously, pushing up her glasses with her finger. These were the people, that she could either befriend or call an enemy.

More and more continued to enter the Hall. More and more competition but at the same time, more opportunities to gain much much more of what she desired. At least not all of them were bad. The one to give her a drink wasn't half bad. "You know what, Sansan, I think I'll take your advice. Let this gloomy atmosphere go away with some drinks!" She shouted for everyone to hear her. With little effort, she began to heavily drink the alcohol given to her. Some fun it would be just to relax some. As for the nickname, she only gave nicknames to the people she liked. It was a way to express herself in a way.

Kuru walked over to Sangria and wrapped her arms around her neck, "So tell me, how do you make this wine...? IF ya tell me how, I can copy the ability for a little while and we can brew some fantastic things." She whispered, winking in delight from the consumed product already. "Think about it, let these buzz-kills get a little buzz, hehe." Also being a witch of biological functions, she had the ability to make others suffer, as well as make them healthy. While the effect was up and lowered her abilities, should could do very little. However what she could do was release some muscle tension on an individual, and that is exactly what she was doing to Sangria. "I'm scratchin your back, how bout you scratch mine."

As she left the flower-covered Rosabella, Anthea got nervous about what was to come. She knew that she shouldn't be, since she played in many games before this one. Yet, every time a new game starts, she grew very anxious no matter who the coordinator was, even if it was Sienna or even herself. However, she was a bit curious about this new valen, Marina. She wondered how well she would be at her first game.

Anthea didn't bring much to the Hall of Games: Only a notebook where she kept all of her notes from previous games and a pen if she needed to take any notes about the current game. Her only possession from her time as a pawn, a photo in a lavish magenta frame, could stay in Rosabella, as it wasn't of much worth at the hall, and how would bringing an old relic from her past change anything?

When Anthea approached the game hall, she entered and walked to the Main Foyer. She saw that only a few people were there so far: Kuru, Ursa, Asterion, Prism, Sangria, Daphne, Rosaline, and the newest Valen herself, Marina.

Sienna wasn't there yet. Anthea sighed, "Hopefully Sienna won't be late like last time," She mumbled.

Sangria perked her ears up upon hearing the familiar sounds of Kuru taking her little alcoholic swig.
She looked away from Marina, smiling to herself.

Kuru somehow intoxicated herself to the point of complete relaxation. Ah, very good. ❤
Pleasure was in pleasure being, after all. She turned towards Kuru as the biological witch moved her way towards Sangria.
She knew how to deal with these folks.

Kuru asked her, almost jokingly, for the wine recipe. She wrapped an arm around Sangria, and Sangria felt the tension flowing from her body.
Sangria turned around and stared at Kuru directly in the eyes. What a pretty lady, this one was! Sangria snickered as she subtly moved her finger in a circle, ever so slightly increasing the potency of the wine.
She then moved her lips closer to Kuru's ear, almost touching the end.
"It's a secret, my little sweetie." Sangria giggled, but this time a bit more menacingly. "We all need to keep some secrets, don't we now? ❤"
She placed an arm around Kuru. "Now, now, hun ..." Her other hand, tapping on the end of Marina's bottle, slowly generated a rhythmic beat. Sangria darted her eyes around. A few others were coming. Through the arm around Kuru, she began to dampen her senses ever so slightly -- the most she could do here. Not to any major effect, but simply to ease her, if not make her a bit dizzy. "Do you have a little word to say to our dear, dear Coordinator here?" She lifted away her shoulder and tenderly stroked Kuru's cheek. "She needs aaaall the help she can get, you know. Wouldn't you agree? ❤"

Sangria smiled.
Things were working out well, it seemed.

The sky was always changing in the land owned by Belle. Never did it stay the same for longer than a few minutes. Time was unimportant anyway, so there had been no need for it to change normally. There was also no need for it to be normal. So among the many colors humans would see there were others.

Dusk. Afternoon. Sunset. Night. Blues, reds, purples, oranges.

Sometimes it would look like the sea, vast with blues and greens. Sometimes it would go all white, a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Other times it would look like a super nova, an explosion of stars and wondrous things.

Had this been Belle's doing? Or was it like this when she got here? Even the shifter could not recall, forgetting things from so long ago. Being immortal seemed to do that to a being. So much would just slip away through the cracks of time. Memories, faces, names, friends, enemies. But most of it was unimportant, so no use dwelling on it. Instead, focus on the present.

The present. Currently Belle had been brushing her hair, watching change in the same manner as the sky. Only when she finished did it return to the plain white of her original appearance. The blank canvas.

Once pleased with her appearance, glasses adorning her face and a flowing white dress framing her body, the female stood to move away from the grand mirror. Away from the room. Out of the house and through her land, a city that had nothing notable besides the sky and bizarre weather. Well, there was one other thing worthy of note. But that was her's and her's alone. No one else should even know of it. Not her secret, her treasures...

But moving along. Away from her land. To the Hall. Ready, willing, eager.

Belle was not the first one to arrive. In fact, those already there seemed to have been there for a while already. Or perhaps that was just an illusion cast upon her by how their conversation appeared. Then again, she was not one for socializing without a cause. A selfish desire that could only be fulfilled by smiling and acting interested or forcing it out of someone. Therefore the tone of an atmosphere was hard to read.

So while, to her, it seemed light and as if they were all friends already that could not necessarily be the truth. She was uncertain. She also had no reason or approach to join in with them just yet, so instead a spot away from the majority was taken and there she would stand for now. Thinking, weighing the odds, and planning.

A tricky girl she was. Being very secretive about something as simple as wine creation. Luckily for Kuru, she observed enough to maybe make some sort of successful beverage. However, the room still was in play and because of such, the chance of a perfect reproduction was slim at best. She believed that she could make a perfect replica of the substance with ease. Just another prideful thought on her part.

"Oh yes, lil miss Coordinator could use lots of help." Kuru grabbed a glass filled with water and snapped her finger. "However I'm not much for helping others unless it benefits me, ya know." Her finger began to spin around the tip of the glass to increase fermentation. "So if you can help me out lil miss, then we might have somethin." She stopped her process to replicate the wine.

"Well I think I figured you out, Sansan. Now lets take a little bit of a taste." Instead of offering it to one of them, instead she decided to drink it. She took a light sip and her eyes widened. The amount of alcohol toxicity was way too high. Not only that, there was no taste. It was almost like a poison. She began to cough violently. One hand covering her mouth while another went up her shirt to draw a line from her stomach to esophagus and eventually her mouth. It was a painful procedure to say the least. Eventually she managed to spit the toxic water out, back into the glass. "Okay... not trying that again." She said with slight rasp in her voice.

[/url]❥ Marina watched as two others joined Kuru and herself -- Asterion and Ursa. She liked him for the simple fact that he had been Casey's player. Poor Casey. ⦇ Greetings, psychic Mari, so nice to see you. ⦈ Her greeted with a bow.

She forced a small on her face. ⦇ Asterion, ⦈ she replied curtly with a nod. He was the only one that really referred to her by that name. It gave her both a sense of nostalgia and remorse. Casey was a kind soul and did not deserve to be ripped apart. Being unexisted was the most horrifying thing she had ever experienced. Never did she want to go through that again, even if she hated it here.

Rising, Asterion turned to the other two and gave them a smile. ⦇ And nice to see you two as well. ⦈ he greeted the others before turning back to Marina. Asterion crossed his arms leaned in closer. ⦇ so how are you feeling today? Nervous? ⦈

Now was not the time to show signs of anxiety. She needed to contain herself. She was calculating once before, she could be it again. It was time to strategize. Marina collected herself and smiled sweetly. ⦇ I am well. As for nerves -- ⦈ She was interrupted by the entrance of a certain alcoholic Valen.

The pink - haired Valen with the ever so constant air of inebriation sat down beside her. Marina scowled briefly, before tugging the corners up her lips upwards into a tight - lipped smile. ⦇ So you are the one who recently achieved immortality, is it? ⦈ She began, taking three or four bottles of water out of her purse and placed them gently on a nearby table.

⦇ It is a shame you have to come here. It has been a while, but everyone here doesn't know a good time when they see one, hun. ⦈ Sangria flicked her wrist and the first bottle of water turned into a pale rose. She grabbed it and uncapped the top, sipping it tenderly, before quietly placing it down. From what she had come to gather at the various social gatherings, Sangria was a talker. That would be both annoying and an advantage. Right now, it was just simplying obnoxious. ⦇ Tastes like water. I'm not surprised that I can't form a good brew when all this dirty negation is ****ing everything up, huh? Try a little, will you? You look tense as a board, dear. ⦈ She flicked her wrist and the second bottle of water turned into an even paler rose liquid, giving it to Marina. Marina pushed the bottle aside. She eyed the bottles skeptically, unwilling to fall under any of the other Valen's spells right before the start of her game. Marina needed a clear mind. ⦇ I made it extra weak just for you. We don't want our coordinator ... shall we say, keeling over, do we? Was she going to be done any time soon? Marina did not care to listen to Sangria any further. She was boring her and the woman felt the need to push her 'alcohol' onto her. She is the Coordinator, not a drunkard. There was a faint air of curiosity as to whom Sangria had chosen for pawns, but not enough to ask. She would rather not know. The few that had openly expressed their distaste for her winning because their pawn lost was enough. Most of the things Sangria spoke of were all just a repeat of what she had been told upon arriving anyway. Sangria placed the bottle in front of Marina, next to the weak rosy wine. ⦇ Still weak, but you might like vodka instead. Marina pursed her lips. ⦇ I know what I like and I do not need your help or magic alcohol to get me by. ⦈ She was sick of this woman. She took a moment's reprieve in the fact that Sangria got up and walked away, only to return by her side a moment later. Marina looked exasperated.

⦇ Don't tell me you're nervous about this little game, are you? ⦈ she repeated Asterion's question.

I need not be nervous. ⦇ It is the rest of you that should be. ⦈ Marina replied bluntly. She brushed a lock of hair out of her face and felt relieved when Sangria became engrossed in conversation with others. The room was filling up. Things would be starting soon. She was thankful for that. Marina was tired of waiting. She had been waiting since the moment she unfroze -- before then even. Her mind started swirling and flashing back to the letter in her dress -- the way tears fell and her hand shook as she wrote. The loneliness left her feeling a void. It was not until Kuru's voice rang out in her ears did she return back to the moment.

⦇ So if you can help me out lil miss, then we might have somethin. ⦈ said Kuru, rather full of herself.

She set her hands down flat on the table and rose to her feet. ⦇ I neither need your help, nor do I plan on giving you any. ⦈ With an expressionless look on her face, her blue eyes flicked from person to person. A good number had already arrived, but there were a few key players yet to make their grand entrance. Marina let her lips turn up into a smile and run her hands over the front of her dress. ⦇ Thank you to those of you that have already arrived. It is much appreciated. I do believe we should be starting soon, so just hold tight. ⦈♕​

Before leaving her region, Sienna looked through her library to find her 100 Days notebook, since that could help her with this new game, with this new coordinator.
"Lets see...." She started, "Outsiders, Fun & Games, Silver Lights... ah, here it is!" She pulled out a blue notebook with "100 DAYS" written on the cover and placed in in her trusty bag. Then, she picked up a blank yellow notebook on her desk and a pen to also put in the bag. As she walked out of the room, she thought a little about the previous game, and her pawns for it.
"Thank you, my pawns, for doing well. You both may have lost, but you both did good." She thought as she left.

Sienna considered her region to be unique. Besides having a few little towns, she was able to make a small resort in the middle of it, complete with some water slides, a kiddie roller coaster, a popular (at least in her region) restaurant, and a spa. She was proud of the little resort, and considered it the "Most fun place someone could be" in her region.She lived in one of the suites in the hotel, so she was able to walk around a bit and enjoy her little creation before heading over to the Hall of Games, passing the rollercoaster and the Adults-only pool. She smiled, "I hope I won't have to give any of this up."

Sienna was excited for the new game to begin (especially if the coordinator was new), as she always was when a new game started. So she did a jogging-walking-skipping routine while on her way to the Hall. When she got to the main foyer, she saw that there were some Valens already there, including the new Coordinator, Marina. "Good," she thought, "I'm not late like last time."
Then, she noticed Anthea and walked up to her, "Hey Anthea," she started, "good thing I'm not late like last time, right?"

[/url]With a content sigh, Vex looked out the window so that he could view his land. Comparatively to some of the other lands that he's seen, his was fairly advance. He did have three drones constantly by his side that he made, so it wasn't hard to believe. That however wasn't what he was looking at. What Vex was looking at was the peace and serenity that his world had. All of which a result of his rule. It didn't matter what it was, laws, punishments, whatever, he decided everything here.

A satisfied smile grew on his face as he looked away from the window. It was about time for him to head towards the Hall of Games for Marina's game. There was no way that he would miss something that he's been looking forward too. He was already filled with anticipation, why would he waste it by missing out. He took a second to remove himself from his seat before heading off.

When he'd arrived, the first thing he did was take a look around to see who else had arrived. His eyes caught sight of Kuru, Prism, Ursa, Asterion, Sangria, Daphne, Rosaline, Anthea, Belle and finally the newly crowned immortal herself, Marina. Out of the people that were currently here, he had neutral feelings towards. Vex noticed that Gale wasn't here, but paid it no mind. Odds were likely he was laying in a field in his land. Even more likely that he'd forgotten about Marina's game. With a shrug, he chose to stop thinking about it.

Good. The only thing he could do now was too wait as he stood against the nearby wall. He'd chosen not to go near any one else for this simply because he wasn't the most sociable person. Heck, the only reason he speaks with Gale is due to their arrangement that they had. If it wasn't for that, he'd be in the same category as everyone else. Neutral.

The silence of the room weighed heavily until another Valen appeared. Ursa ignored him for the most part until he greeted them. She silently nodded to him, but made no move to speak. It did peak her interest in the rest of the procession though. The boyish Valen, Prism she thought his name was, sat alone eating chocolates. Then came Sangria.

The tales of the brewmistress had not missed her tiny city nor had her wine been ignored in her stores and pubs. She silently wished for a taste of the Valen's vodka but was ignored for more flavorful meat. Their coordinator. Kuru, whose scent reached Ursa's sensitive nose with a wrath, also teased the newest immortal, making a fool of herself while drunk.

It was maddening listening to them banter and bargain with Marina, with each other.

Sangria was loud, overly confident, and overall rude though even she had to admit that her talents were greatly appreciated when she actually used them in a somewhat wise manner. Kuru just completely rubbed Ursa the wrong way though. Perhaps it was her medical scent or her outward manner and loud voice. Whatever the reason, the witch was having way too much fun.

If they are having fun, why can't I? She thought to herself as she stood. She made her way to Prism, standing behind his chair with a smirk. "What to see something cool?" she asked him with a smirk. She spread out her fingers in front of her face, facing Kuru. She focused on the air around the woman, dropping the temperature sharply. A bead of sweat ran down her temple from the effort. The room was affecting her more than she thought. Soon though it was cold enough in that one spot to keep her quiet for a bit.

She smirked sitting down on the tables edge with a shiver of her own before she recovered.

"Thank you to those of you that have already arrived. It is much appreciated. I do believe we should be starting soon, so just hold tight," she heard Marina say.

"No worries, Lady Coordinator," Ursa replied with a small, discreet smile. "We are entertaining ourselves just fine."

I, Gotterdammerung, watched as Mimi-mistress turned her head towards the familiar voice of the Benevolent Sorceress. If I, Gotterdammerung, possessed emotions, I would be certain that I would be as happy as Mimi-mistress looked to be at this very moment. I, Gotterdammerung, understood that Mimi-mistress was not necessarily the type of mistress who very much enjoyed emoting towards others, preferring instead the company of such dolls as I. It is for that reason that I, Gotterdammerung, had helped lead my Mimi-mistress to the large gold and silver hall which lay in one of Aether's static planes, and I, Gotterdammerung, Mimi-mistress' most faithful and loyal servant, without flaws and without measure but those deemed as such by my Mimi-mistress, pride myself on the efforts undertaken to bring my mistress to where she needs to go without being noticed.

But as I have observed numerous times before, it appears that my Mimi-mistress possesses something that the immortal masters and mistresses refer to as "friendship" between herself and the Benevolent Sorceress. At first, upon my Mimi-mistress and I meeting this positively peppy lady, I, Gotterdammerung, assumed that the friendship my Mimi-mistress possessed with this particular individual was simply a method to acquire her famed sweets. It later became, as I noted, a method of the expansion of further Coppélia. I, Gotterdammerung, considered my Mimi-mistress very crafty, until it turned out that my very suspicions were incorrectly calculated, and through the emotional and rational connection that I possessed with my Mimi-mistress, it appeared that this situation was an instance of the phenomenon that I had deftly classified as "friendship".

Unfortunately, it was rare among these immortals, who my Mimi-mistress deemed slightly untrustworthy. Or perhaps, this was simply the conclusion of I. At times, I, Gotterdammerung, have established a connection so deep that it is extremely hard to differentiate between my own thoughts and those of my Mimi-mistress.
