Zelidar: The Land of the Sky

Callen tossed the stick of Lineve into the shadow's head. Head began to solidify and break into pieces. "hmmmm.... how strange."

 

Amber sighed. "I've figured you'd say that." She put her index and midle fingers together and pointed at the ship, singaling to the first mate to fire. Shiira gave the commad to the crew and all ten lienve cannons and half of the ten regular cannons fired. "Then the game begins." She said into the radio before cloasing the connection.

 

Neoph eventually reached Zontan. he looked around at all the people as he passed them. he walked into a dark ally. once a man came by, Neoph grabbed him and dragged the man into the ally. the noise of the people drowned out the man's cry for help as Neoph sliced his head clean off. Neoph licked the blood off the blade, smirking at the decapatated man in satisfaction. he leaned against the entrance of the ally, cloaked in shadows he waited for his next victim.

 

Serena slowly opened her eyes.

"Where am I", she breathed as the drew herself up onto her hands and knees.

She was lying on a grassy bank just above a lake of some sort. To her left, she could see the shores of the lake glittering in the early morning sun. The grass which she had been lying on was studded with dew, like diamonds or starlight. She suddenly realized that she herself was covered in dew. She hurridly jumped to her feet to brush it off. She staggered for a second after standing up too quickly.

After she regained her balance, she looked around. The terrain was quite flat for miles around and she saw what looked to be a small town from where she was standing.

"I think I'll go there first, it doesn't look very far".

Little did she know that apperences can be deceptive.

 

Callen was starting to feel relieved, now that that thing was dead. He turned his back on whatever it was when he noticed the sword coming down on him. Callen stepped to the side and gasped. The shadow was moving without a head. What was this thing?

 

Neoph had caught and decapatated 24 people. the blood was running into the streets. people screamed and ran at the sight of it. Neoph walked out of the ally and calmly headed down the street.

Before he even turned off the radio, Vyse's own cannons fired. He only had half as many cannons as Amber: 4 Lineve, 6 regular cannons, and one magic cannon powered by the mages on his ship, which he used as a last resort. His ship was smaller and built for speed with a hull made of the hardest metals. His shots collided with most of Amber's but some still hit his ship. "Take her around!" He yelled. Following his orders, the crew turned the Arcadia around. "Ram her and keep firing only the Lineve cannons." He ordered calmly as the Arcadia headed straight for the Belladonna, firing Lineve without break. Out of the corner of his eye, something blue flew by the window. He smiled; his drake was out.

Ace sat there in the shade the tree gave him. He even tried to sleep, but the noises were too distracting. However, now the noises were more like a low pitch buzz. He looked up, the town was farther than it was originally, but he still suspected it looked closer than it should. He stood up, amazed. He had figured out how to control it, whatever IT was. He focused, and all of a sudden, bird chirps, rippling waters, animal's footsteps, EVERYTHING sounded clear. "This is..." he couldn't finish his sentence, he was too suprised. He looked around and picked a tree in the distance. Squinting his eyes, he could see ants crawling around it, spider webs in the tree. Opening his eyes fully, he realized the tree was at least a mile away. Remembering the grass from earlier, he turned around and lifted his hand toward his tree. Gently placing his palm on the tree, he felt many things. He could feel the bark, but feel in a way different than before. He felt termites in the tree, moving around. A squirrel was walking on a branch up high, a bird just flew from a nest on a different branch. "Amazing," he muttered as he yanked his hand back, staring at it. All of a sudden, he realized he had a tremendous headache. Reaching for his head, he leaned against the tree.

Walking into Bendier, Rhone searched for something to do. "Maybe I'll find an airship..." he whispered to himself, folding his wings over his chest and walking down the street.

BIC- Neoph left Zontan and saw Ace crouched under a tree. he stopped for a moment and stared at the man... he usually didn't make small talk... but he was bored and willing to talk. he approached Ace. "well hello there." Neoph said to Ace.

 

Leaning against the tree with his eyes closed, rubbing his temple, Ace was surprised to feel small vibrations on the ground through his feet. Now something's weird with my feet, he thought as the vibrations grew. They had a pattern and rhythm, almost like, "footsteps?" he mumbled the word as they stopped and the words "Well Hello there" rang through his ear with a high pitch that almost his ears bleed.
Looking up, he saw someone standing there. "Uh, hey?" He mumbled, trying to control his hearing.

 

Neoph walked closer to the man. he was about three feet away from him. "name's Neoph. pleasure to meet you." Neoph gave a small bow to the man. "might i ask what your name is?"

 

"P-Peter, Peter Murdock," Ace answered before silently scolding himself for giving his real name out. Oh, well, too late now. He thought. Looking at the boy in front of him, he realized he could see almost every thread in his clothes. This is amazing, he thought to himself, trying to ignore the throbbing in his head.

 

Neoph nodded. "Peter Murdock... since you gave me your last name... i'll give you mine... Rampart... Neoph Rampart... a stupid name... i know." he pulled on the collar of his shirt and ran his fingers through his spikey silver hair. Neoph was horrible at introductions... he just hoped this guy didn't noticed. "so... what's a guy like you doing around here?" he asked.

 

"Neoph Rampart, huh?" Ace leaned against the tree as he spoke. He made it seem like it was a meanningless gesture, but he was really doing it for support. "Well, you see, I'm-" he suddenly realized he had no idea where he was. This doesn't look like Vizet Oi'zein, he thought, looking at the land around him. Images flashed through his head. The experiment, Lineve, a ripped flow, distorted light, that realm he was in for some time. "Hm I got a little lost," He said, understating the truth. "What's the nearest town?" He asked, looking for a hint of his location.

 

Neoph nodded. "you are right outside of Zontan. i just came from there." screams of the people could be heard from inside the city. Neoph chuckled, knowing why the people were screaming.

 

“I got the name of Haffen'Dur. That is a peculiar name to come across, but I shall accept it. I am suspecting it is...your name.†Vanessa’s pale finger pointed towards Haff, and with a smile, she knew by his thoughts that she had gotten it correctly.
The world around her was getting strange now; this entity had actually found a being of similar nature.
She had to admit, she was sadistically insane from what she lacked – what she lacked being her senses. Her thirst for the blood of Callen on her tongue was getting more intense with every thought of him that ran through her brain. She was not normal. Not one inch of this entity was normal.
“What makes you think I am anything like you?†She snapped towards the fox, her crimson eyes glaring in his direction. “Do not compare me to you. You little flea-bag.â€

 

Their attacks clashed at midpoint with only a few making it to the two ships, managing to hit both. As Amber's ship shook it's crew had no trouble staying on their feet, it was just another day for them.
The outcome of this battle would most likely end with much need for repairs. Their ship had strength, but lacked the speed that Arcadia had. And then there was the drake. "Focus half of our attacks on it. When it comes close enough get some people on it then focus our attacks on the Arcadia."

Turning around and marching towards the door, Vyse barked orders. "Ram the Belladonna! Keep firing until you do! We'll show that silly girl who's the better air pirate!" As the crew yelled their acknowledgement, he walked out onto the deck. He had to hold the handrail across the wall to keep his balance. Making it outside, he yelled, "Legeia!" Something blue flew towards him out of the corner of his eye: the drake. She was still young, small enough that only two people at most could fit on her. As the Arcadia approached the Belladonna, he hoisted himself onto her, grabbing the reins. Pulling them hard, Legeia roard as she flew ahead of the Arcadia, attempting to draw the Belladonna's fire.

Ace winced at the sound of the screams. He knew Neoph heard it, too, but there was no way he heard it at the extent that he did. Ace could hear each individual scream, how far that scream was from another. "Wonder what's going on in there," he mumbled, only half curious. He then realized what Neoph had told him. Zontan? As in Galban? How'd I get here? He held his head as the screams still rang in his ears.

 

"I've seen this trick several times, how dumb do you think I am?" Amber mistakenly said that outloud and got a snicker from Shiira. "Don't answer that." She said with a sigh and shook her head. "Perfect time to test out our new shield, don't you think?" The lienve energy was pulled by the ship to protect the ship from the enemy's lienve shots, but it was mostly useless against regular attacks so the crew were forced to dogge 'em to the best of the ships abilities, taking on a few hits, and nearly stopped their return fire; they were only able to return a few shots from the regular cannons, half aimed at the drake, the other half towards Arcadia. "Make sure all cannons are still ready to fire. Anyone who isn't at a cannon get on deck and perpare for a fight." She said with a smirk before walking out onto the middle of the deck. She heard her commands being repeated by Shiira into the radio and in second's time she was joined by half her crew. "Let's do this the old fanshion way." They were ready to be ramed.

 

Callen formed a stick of Lineve in each hand. But before he could strike the Shadow with them, two more shadows appeared in front of the cell. Callen groaned and let the two sticks dissipate. "Oh come on! three on one?! No fair! Fighting isn't even my thing! Just give me a chance, will ya?"

"Kill him." said one of the shadows. "Our master wishes it."

Master? Callen side kicked a blast of Lineve through the body of the first Shadow. The entire creature then crystallized and shattered, giving Callen a view of the cell bars behind the Shadow. The blast of Lineve that Callen kicked had broken through the cell bars, giving Callen an escape route. Now all he had to do was get to it.

 

Legeia roared as she turned and twisted in the air; the scene around them becoming a mere blur to Vyse. He knew Legeia's eyesight was better than his and she was dodging the shot; he was overly confident in their abilities. He pulled the reigns, directing Legeia towards the Belladonna in a straight line, barely avoiding attacks. The Arcadia rammed the Belladonna's shield. He turned his head to see if it broke through the shield.
