I was watching Everglow's fight with Xemnas when I found this. What do you guys think of it? And when was it implemented to the site?
I suppose as long as your monitor is capable of supporting the quality there is nothing wrong with it. I myself would much rather just stick with 720/1080 but to each his/her own. It's definitely a "unique" feature. It can allow you to upload videos with a higher resolution than 1080. Downside is trying to stream an unnaturally high quality video. Apparently, the original quality option has been around since 2010, maybe a little before. I guess it's not a very noticed feature.
Most people export their videos to standard video sizes (e.g. 1280 x 720) and, therefore, you don't see the 'original' option because it's just 720p. Like Nights said, you can use the original if you want, but I will rarely ever watch anything above 720p. I've a decent internet connection but I find that's the best balance between load speed and quality, for me. I really can't even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p anyway, unless I'm watching in full screen on my second monitor. So really it's just what looks good to you and loads well.
