Yeah that's how I kept myself entertained for the past...two hours? I forgot how f*cking funny the majority of that thread was. And these two insane prophecies lolwut @ both
The funny thing was, I think she was banned for multi-accounting as opposed to causing someone to rage-ban her. EDIT: LOLOLOLOMODPOWAHABUSEICANSEEHASEO11!!111!!!
I remember how I bounced from "dude that's too far" to "lol ginta you betch" cause of that thread. EDIT: lol at my old antics getting stuff like what RvR said
Each post in animals rule! functions as a potential Nostradamus. In occurrence, this forum may indeed be ruled by cats.
Nostradamus and the like only function because humans attempt to find hidden meaning in the words. If one were to ignore the metaphors and take it at face value, it would not work so well. Ergo, your pointing out of them being a potential Nostadamus is quite possibly a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The first 'prophecy' was fairly obvious, and not entirely correct. IIRC, she got banned for multiaccounting, not flaming or trolling. The second one was an offhand remark. It is because we're looking at it in retrospect we connect it to more recent events, when in reality there are many more comments that do not. It's all a matter of probability. There is a chance that any post will have a 'prophecy' that will make sense in retrospect, but we gloss over the ones that do not in favour of those that do. e.g. I sense a tragedy approaching. Now that statement can be interpreted to mean many different things. Are we going to have someone leave? Will someone get banned? Will someone die IRL? However if you read this thread in a year's time, it won't stand out unless something of that caliber occurs. TL;DR This post is the next Nostradamus.
I see your point Pika, very good one indeed. However, Nostradamus...I am not so sure of. Most academic sources maintain that the associations made between world events and Nostradamus's quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so tenuous as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power. Moreover, none of the sources listed offers any evidence that anyone has ever interpreted any of Nostradamus's quatrains specifically enough to allow a clear identification of any event in advance. This is a copypasta from Wiki. Now I'm going to add in some of my AP Euro homework. In November of 1814, representatives of Russia, Prussia, Great Britain, and Austria met for a peace conference, known as the Congress of Vienna. This was because Napoleon was a huge *****, took over everything, and imposed the Napoleonic Code. Countries were like wtf get out, and so eventually the aforementioned four allied and kicked his ass. It's summarized, obviously, but I barely paid attention during class, hell I was mostly asleep. It's really hard to focus after eating lunch, does anyone else have that problem? This is turning into more of a minirant, it would seem. Ah well. I glued soda cans together last night and they stayed together, it's exciting. I also entered that Ponyo contest on deviantArt, but I've never seen the movie. Speaking of movies, I really want to see The Wolfman. What does that have to do with Napoleon or Nostradamus? I have no freaking idea. But Nostradamus wasn't the complete badass that we all think he is, I honestly could say whatever and have it happen by my own hand. tl;dr - NOMNOMNONM KITTIES
