Will of Fire

Panzela glared at the kitchen. "Stupid noises, I know I heard something. But..." she frowned and walked out of the house. "I guess I should go home then." she shrugged and walked off the porch.

 

Dai forced a smile. "Hi, Akito."

Rei looked at the sky. "It's great though, isn't it? Being up there, where no one can touch you and you can just escape from reality for a bit..."

 

Panzela took another look at the house, very confused. Since when do sounds mess with me? And then she turned around and pushed it to the back of her mind while she walked home.

 

Akito smiled back. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asked as the doors to the cable car opened.

Becky looked up and stared at the blue sky. "Yeah..." She said and smiled. "Though it's a bit terrifying..."

There was a loud thump from inside the Ayume house and then the sound of somebody saying 'Shhh'...

 

Panzela spun around, "Ha! I knew there was something in there!" she ran back to the house, "Hello?" she called out, this time not stopping to knock but, instead, politely going right in.

 

"That's fine." Dai said, keeping her smile and boarding the cable car to take her usual seat in the back.

"I didn't even want to learn to fly at first." Rei said. "The thought of having nothing to support me scared me. But I'm over that now. After all, my main support, my real family, is long dead. That's why I build such a bond with my Tamers. They become my new family."

 

On the floor in front of Panzela was a young boy who seemed to be about 10 or 11 years old. He looked up at Panzela frightened as she walked in. Whoever the other voice had been was already gone.

"Oh..." Becky said and looked at Rei. She felt kind of bad for him. He wasn't able to be with his real family anymore... and he had to get a new tamer every century... It must be hard for him.

"Thanks..." Akito said and followed her to the back of the car, sitting beside her.

 

Panzela's expression instantly softened at the site of the boy, "Oh." she paused, "Hello, are you okay?"

 

Rei smiled. "But I never let it get to me!" He spiraled upwards. "I am Rei, the Black Wings! And, yes ladies, I'm open!"

Dai didn't look at Akito. "... Is something up? You never ride with me."

 

The boy quickly scrambled to his feet. He nodded.

"Well, you seemed to be by yourself so I thought I'd give you some company..." He said.

Becky couldn't help but laugh at that. "Well, come on, "Rei the Great", I have homework I should be doing... and I bet Kairuto does, too..." She said and giggled as she started walking in the direction of their house.

 

Rei sunk back down. "Ah, homework: the ultimate party pooper." He walked with Becky.

"I see." Dai had a feeling it was something else, but she ignored that feeling.

 

Panzela gave him a smile, "Well, it was just that I heard something that sounded like someone falling down. But you seem to be okay. Are you one of Becky and Kairuto's cousins?"

 

The boy shook his head and looked down, taking a step back. He remained silent.

Becky rolled her eyes and smiled. "Aw, come on. How do you know if it's bad when you don't even do it?" She asked and smirked.

Akito stayed silent for a moment and looked out the window of the cable car. He couldn't think of anything to say to her.

 

Panzela bit the inside of her cheek thoughfully, "Oh, well, then I guess that makes two of us in the wrong house. Why don't we leave." she opened the door and gestured for him to go out.

 

"Don't worry, I get it." Dai said quietly so the other passengers couldn't hear. "You my father's new lackey."

"Kairuto complains enough." Rei said. "He does more complaining than working!"

 

The boy nodded and walked outside. He seemed to be really frightened.

Akito looked at Dai and then looked down. "Yeah... It's not exactly the best job in the world, but my main goal right now is to help your family in any way I can..." he said.

Becky looked at Rei and laughed. "Maybe if he stopped complaining then he'd get it done for once..." She said and smirked, knowing that he could hear.

 

Panzela followed him outside, this is odd, but I don't want to freak him out too much. "I'm Panzela by the way, what's your name?" she asked, pleasantly.

 

The boy didn't say anything to her. He pointed to his throat.

 

OOC: lol, this is so ironic cuz i know sign language. XD

BIC: Panzela nodded, "Okay, well. Can you write, sign, or something? We need to be able to communicate in some way." she sat on a bench leaving room for him to sit.

 

The boy sat next to her and tilted his head. He tilted his head and hesitated, but then he started doing a few hand symbols. They said "Can you read sign language?" but he wasn't sure if she could.
