Will of Fire

Becky got really nervous but she just shook it off. "Well... alright..." She said, not really in the mood to see him. but she knew that she'd have to at some point.

 

"Come on then." Kairuto extended his hand for Becky. "I bet he's still back at the Hiwatari's place."

 

Becky nodded and took Kairuto's hand, walking slowly with him. She didn't say anything.

BIC: "Don't worry, I won't say anything unless you want me to." Kairuto said as they walked.

 

Becky smiled but still remained silent. She was thinking deeply. What if I'm mistaken... and I don't really like him...? What if he tries to pull something again...? She couldn't get these thoughts out of her head.

Kairuto gently squeezed Becky's hand. "Hey, don't look so gloomy. I'm right here with you and we can leave whenever we want."

 

Becky looked at him and smiled. "Thanks... you're the best, Kairuto..." she said and hugged him gently, smiling. She then turned and noticed Akito walking with Panzela. She took a deep breath as she started to get nervous again.

Akito looked up and blinked when he saw Becky and Kairuto. I should probably give her some time to think... He thought and was about to go and walk a different direction.

 

"Oi, Akito-kun! Come here!" Kairuto tried his best to sound friendly.

 

Akito blinked a bit in surprise at the way Kairuto spoke to him and he approached them. "What's up...?" he asked casually.

Becky looked at Akito and just stared at him, not sure where to start. She felt a knot form in her stomach as she froze up. Come on... just speak! She thought, but it wasn't as easy as she thought.

 

Kairuto gave Becky a gentle push forward. "Go on."

 

Akito tilted his head at Becky. "What is it...?" he asked.

Becky glanced back at Kairuto and then looked at Akito. "Umm... Akito-kun..." She started but then looked down. "I just want to start by saying I'm sorry for anything I've said to you that might've been hurtful..." That was pathetic... she thought.

Akito blinked in surprise. She's... apologizing...? He thought.

 

That's an okay start. Kairuto thought.

 

"And I just want to say that... I... um..." She rubbed the back of her head. She couldn't find the words or the courage to tell him.

"Becky... if there's something you want to tell me then go ahead... I'm listening..." He said and smiled.

Becky looked up at him. That made her feel a little better. "I-I... Like you alot, Akito..." She said finally and then closed her eyes tight, tears falling down her cheeks.

 

Panzela watched them, half smiling. That's good that she's telling him, that's really good.

 

Kairuto tried to stay calm.

"Nothing's gonna happen to her. She's got us, remember?" Rei said.

"I can't protect her from another heartbreak." Kairuto said gloomily.

 

Panzela walked a little ways away to give them space and sat on a bench where she could see them incase of trouble but was out of their way. She took out her sketch book and worked on a picture.

 

Akito was stunned. He didn't know what to say to this."Wow... um..." He rubbed the back of his head nervously.

Becky opened her eyes and looked up at Akito. "But... I can't trust you anymore..." She took a deep breath, deciding to just say how she felt... entirely... "I'm just so clueless as to how you're really feeling... I can't help but think that you'll just go back to the Hiwatari's again... And that you're just using me... I'm willing to listen if you'll please just tell me what's going on..."

Akito looked nervously at Kairuto and then back to Becky. I see... he thought. I was hoping that she'd feel like that... but I can't tell her in front of Kairuto... He makes me a nervous wreck... But I guess I'll just have to deal with it... She won't trust me if I try to get her away from him... "Alright..." he said at last. "Well... I was actually trying to help your family from the start..." He began. "The reason I... tried to kill you... was because I was trying to get on the Hiwatari family's good side. But I wasn't just going to let you die..." He pulled a small bottle out of his pocket that contained a purple liquid. "I was going to revive you later when I got the chance... I couldn't tell you because I had to make it seem real... it had to be real. However, when Panzela gave you a bit of potion, You came back alive and things got a bit complicated..." He looked down and rubbed the back of his head. "My feelings started getting messed up and I couldn't figure out what to do. I'm sorry if I hurt you... Either of you..."

Becky blinked. "So... it was all a plan from the beginning...?" she asked and then looked down. "But... what about you and Akari... kissing...?" She asked, rubbing her eyes as she felt them start to fill with tears again. She felt her heart begin to ache again.

Akito looked down. "I-I don't know..." he said. "I never meant for that to happen... it just did..." He sighed. How do I REALLY feel about Akari...? He wondered.

 

So he had a plan after all. Kairuto folded his arms. "Listen here: if you've got a plan that has to do with something you're not even a part of, scrap it. This is between the Hiwataris and Ayumes. As I recall, you're neither. Come to me if you want to fight for the Ayumes. Go see Megumi if you really are working with the Hiwataris." Kairuto looked at Becky. "I'm heading home." He started walking back to the Ayumes house.

 

Akito watched Kairuto walk off. He really doesn't like me, does he...? He thought and shook his head.

Becky watched as Kairuto walked off as well. "He's right..." she said to Akito and turned to face him. "You need to pick a side and stay with it... no more pretending... Who are you with...?" She asked and crossed her arms.

Akito looked at her and rubbed the back of his head. "I... Um..." He couldn't answer that one because he didn't know.

Becky's eyes widened as him hesitating and she took a step back. "Akito! This should be easy to awnser for you! You just told me that your whole plan was to help us!" She took another step back, just to be safe.

"Well... I really shouldn't pick a side, because this isn't my fight, anyways..." he said. "Kairuto's right... this is between your families... I should just stay out of it..."

 

"Watch your words, partner. He's gonna start to think you're the leader." Rei said.

"I guess in a way I am..." Kairuto said sceptically. "But I wouldn't be anything without you."

"Ditto." That was all Rei had to say to get his point across.

"You stay here. I'm gonna get some food." Dai said to Wizard. She placed him on her bed and left her room, shutting the door so Wizard couldn't get out.
