Will of Fire

Kairuto dodged to the right. "I've been protecting her longer than you!" He retorted.

Dai tilted her head. Why does Becky-chan need help? She wondered.

 

"You couldn't even keep her from getting hurt!" He ran at him again, attacking with full force.

Becky looked up wearily. "Pan... zela..."

Akari blinked, surprised. "Panzela?! What are you doing here...?" she asked. "Move! now!" she demanded, pointing the machine away from Becky and straight at her.

 

"Don't come out! I don't want him to know that I'm your Tamer." Kairuto told Rei as he tried to dodge Akito's attacks.

"Alright... But if it gets to be too much, I'm coming out anyways." Rei said.

 

Panzela looked up at her, "No." she said, plainly, flicking her hand towards her and making a huge blast of wind push her into the wall. Looking back at Becky she knelt down, "What can I do?" she asked. Hurry, hurry, before she shoots that, that thing.

 

"G-Go back home..." she said. "I-I don't want you to get h-hurt..." She closed her eyes and laid her head on the ground, not able to move.

Akito continued to attack Kairuto, not letting up at all. I can't hold back... he thought as sweat ran down his forehead.

Akari tried to dodge but still got pushed back a bit. She cursed under her breath and pointed the gun back at Becky, taking more of her energy. "You're not worth my time..." she said to Panzela.

 

"You know if you kill me, it's just like killing my sister." Kairuto held up his arms, taking the hits.

 

Panzela jumped up and stood infront of Becky, "Oh, is that right? Well, like I care." she held out her blades and shot more wind at her from all directions. "Sadly, I'm not going anywhere, you'll have to deal." she kept her eye on the machine and kept herself infront of Becky.

 

"Fine..." Akari said and then whistled loudly.

Akito suddenly stopped fighting. "I-It's nothing like that! I-I'm trying to protect her!" he shouted and then heard Akari whistle. "I'll have to deal with you later..." he said and ran off through the trees towards the sound. She's at Becky's house...? he thought and went inside to where she was. "What did you need me for...?" he asked and then saw Panzela. He was about to say something but then noticed Becky on the floor. "What the h*ll did you do to her?!" he asked, his eyes wide. he stared angrily at Akari.

Akari looked at Akito innocently. "I made you a promise... so I kept it... i didn't hurt her..." She pointed at Panzela. "She did... and I was trying to help Becky..."

What...?! She's lying! Becky thought. She wanted to tell Akito.. but she couldn't seem to find the strength to speak.

 

Kairuto didn't think of the wounds on his arms as he ran after Akito. Neesan...

 

Panzela closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm guessing saying that's a lie, which it is, won't stop you from trying to kill me?" she asked him, opening her eyes and looking straight at him.

 

Akito held his doubleswords ready, looking back and forth between Panzela and Akari. "Who hurt Becky?!" he asked. "I-I want the truth!" He looked over at Panzela, thinking she might have hurt her... but could he really trust Akari...?

Akari glared at Panzela. She pointed the machine at Becky and pulled the trigger, draining away almost all of her energy. "Alright... I did it..." she said and smirked, jumping out of the way when Akito came to attack her. "You were too foolish to even notice that while helping me... you were hurting Becky in the process..." She said and laughed, draining the last bit of Becky's energy.

Akito felt tears springing to his eyes. It's my fault for her getting hurt... he thought and readied his doubleswords. But I'll make sure she's safe...

Becky couldn't move at all. She had somehow managed to stay concious with a tiny bit of energy that wouldn't go away.

 

Kairuto had let Rei take over and Rei burst through the front door. His right wing was surrounded by a dark aura that would slowly heal it. "Seems I missed the invitation to the party." He looked around, arms folded. Three on one? Seems fair enough. He sent out tendrils of darkness that wrapped around everyone's (except Becky's) waist and legs.

 

Panzela gasped in surprise as the tendrils wrapped around her. "What are you doing you moron! She's the one hurting Becky!" she yelled at Rei, her eyes flashing. "Let us go so we can help you. I'm not kidding!"

 

Akito was unsure if to listen to her but then he felt the darkness wrap around him. I-I can't move... he thought struggling to get it off of him.

Akari dodged the tendrils, having sensed his presence when he got here. "Hello, Black Wings..." she said and grinned. "Glad you could join us... we were just about to have a little death match..." She took a kunai out of her pocket and threw it at Panzela.

Oh no... she thought, seeing that Rei and Kairuto had shown up. She felt tears come to her eyes. Even though I'm the one injured... I can't think about anything but protecting them... she thought.

 

Rei released Panzela, sensing there was something about her tone that told him she was on his side, and used the tendrils that held her to catch the kunai. "Sounds like fun. But let's keep it one on one." He still held Akito just in case.

 

"Thanks..." Panzela said, still a little annoyed even though he had every right not to trust her considering. She concentrated her energy into her blades shot blast after blast of air at her.

Akito struggled to get out of the tendrils. Crap... somebody has to protect Becky...! he thought.

Akari dodged Panzela's blasts. "Aww... that isn't much fun... but I guess I don't have much of a choice..." she said and then suddenly grinned. She had landed right next to Becky after dodging one of Panzela's blasts,and held a kunai to Becky's neck. "Make one more move and I'll cut her..." she said and grinned.

 

Rei tightened his grip on Akito. "You're low, Hiwatari." He said, addressing Akari. "If you want a real match, fight me alone outside."

 

"That'd be foolish..." she replied. "I know that I can't possibly beat you one on one... this way is much easier..." she said and grinned, cutting Becky's neck a little.

Akito looked at Becky desperately and then tried to break the tendrils again. "Y-You promised you wouldn't hurt her!!" he said.

"And what made you think I would keep my promise?" she asked and laughed. "You're so easy to fool..."

Becky let out a small whine when Akari cut her neck.

 

"Stay still, brat!" Rei yelled at Akito. It was hard to keep his focus on two things at once. He looked at Akari. "Let her go. You're a Hiwatari, you shouldn't be so weak as to need a hostage."
