Will of Fire

"Alright..." Becky said and smiled, but she felt a knot form in her stomach. No... I can't go after them this time... if anything happens... they obviously don't want me to... she thought. "Bute please... try and avoid fighting if you can..."

Akito felt a tear fall down his cheek and then a girl walked up to him, smiling.

"So... did you kill her...?" Akari asked, grinning.

"Well... I wounded her..." Akito said and stood up, glaring at her hatefully.

"That's not good enough..." she said. "You have to get rid of her... you have to make the Black Wings miserable..."

Akito looked down.

 

Kairuto patted Becky's head. "I'll be fine." He left and decided to take a short cut through the park.

 

Becky smiled. I hope you're right... she thought.

"Aww... cheer up... by helping us you'll make her life much better than it would've been..." She said and grinned wickedly.

Akito scowled. "Whatever..." he said and leaned against the tree.

She walked up to him and took his hands. "Trust me... she's better off without you..." She said and kissed him.

Akito pushed her away, shocked. "Akari...! You know I like Becky-chan!!" He said, now angry with her.

 

"Stop!" Rei suddenly spoke up.

"What?" Kairuto stopped and when he did, he felt something... wrong was in the park. "Is it a Hiwatari?"

"Yeah. The girl with that weird machine." Rei said.

"Well, we'll just have to avoid her. I told Neesan we wouldn't fight." Kairuto said, but as he got closer to Akari and Akito the feeling worsened. "Do you think she'll notice us?"

"I'm masking my magic as best as I can. Let's just hope she doesn't catch the little bit that slipping." Rei said.

 

Akari snickered. "What's so great about her, anyways...? She's just a stupid little punk who likes to get in other peoples' business..." she remarked, scoffing.

Akito clenched his fists. "Shut up! You don't know anything about her!!" Akito said.

"I know enough to know that she's using you..." Akari said and smirked.

"No she isn't!" Akito yelled.

"Oh yeah...? Then why didn't she come to help you?! Why did she sit back like a coward and watch as you could've died?! Awnser that and I'll take back what I said!" Akari replied, smirking.

Akito was about to awnser her but he couldn't. He didn't have an awnser. He just hung his head.

Akari looked over. So the Black Wings himself decided to show up, eh? she thought and grinned.

 

Kairuto put his hands behind his head (like Naruto XD) and tried to look casual. "Well?"

"I think she's got us. But don't do anything. Just keep walking." Rei instructed.

"Right." Kairuto waved at one of his friends as he walked.

 

"Akito... go after them..." she said.

"What?! But..." he couldn't really think of anything to protest, so he just hung his head. "Fine..." he said. "But remember... you promised to leave her alone..." he said and started running over to Kairuto.

Oh... did I...? she thought and smirked as she snuck away without anyone noticing, heading towards the Ayume household. Well... he was too chicken to do it himself... so I'll just have to go do it for him... the Black Wings won't be able to fight too well if he's in emotional distress... she thought and grinned.

Akito stopped right in front of Kairuto, stopping him from walking. "Listen... you're Becky-chan's brother... right?" he asked.

 

"So what if I am?" Kairuto asked, not ready to listen to anything that Akito had to say to him.

 

"I just want you to know that I never meant to hurt anyone in your family... I just have no choice..." he said and took out a kunai knife. That was pathetic... he thought.

Akari arrived in front of the Ayume's house. I can sense her in that room... she thought, looking up at a window.

Becky laid back down, staring at the ceiling. She tried not to worry about Kairuto so that she wouldn't go after him. And for some reason, she couldn't stop thinking of Akito. Tears came to her eyes.

 

"You want to fight me in a public place?" Kairuto laughed. "You're dumber than you look. Put that thing away and go back where you came from. And leave my sister alone." He started walking away from Akito.

"I don't want to harm your sister at all..." Akito said. "But I have no choice... they're after you..." He threw the kunai at Kairuto. "I don't care if it's public or not... I was given an order."

Panzela sat down and thought for a while after Dai had gone to her room. Well, now's as good as ever, I'll call over to Becky and Kairuto and see what they think. She picked up her almost never used phone and dialed to Becky's house and waited.

 

Becky heard the phone ringing and ran downstairs to awnser it. "Hello...?" she asked when she had picked up the reciever.

Akari jumped onto Becky's balcony and grinned, holding the machine in her hands. So... she's downstairs... that'll make it easier to catch her by surprise...

 

Kairuto turned around and caught the kunai. "You little-"

"Get home." Rei interrupted. "I sense and Hiwatari's presence near Becky-chan."

"Tch, I'll deal with you later." Kairuto tossed the kunai to the ground and ran back home.

 

Panzela smiled, happy that Becky and not her parents had answered. "Hi Becky. It's Panzela. I wanted to know how you and Kairuto are, I mean after the fight."

 

Akito ran after Kairuto and did a front flip, landing right in front of him. "You're not going anywhere..." he said and took out his doubleswords.

"Oh... Hi, Panzela..." Becky said and smiled. "I'm alright... Kairuto was a bit injured... but he's been doing better..." she said. "I'm actually glad you called... I was actually wondering if Dai-chan was okay...?" she asked. "She didn't seem too well when I got there."

Akari ran silently down the stairs, not making a noise. She grinned when she saw Becky talking on the phone. Now's my chance... she thought and pointed the machine right at Becky and pulled the trigger.

Becky felt weaker and instantly knew what was happening. She turned to see Akari pointing the maching straight at her. "A...ka...ri..." she muttered as she dropped the phone. Crap... she thought.

 

"Go, Kairuto!" Rei ordered when he felt Becky's aura start to fade.

Kairuto grit his teeth. "If you care so much about my sister then why do you stand by and let her get hurt?!"

 

Panzela was startled to hear Becky fall, "Becky? Becky?! Oh shoot!" she dropped the phone and, grabbing her bag, ran down to her room, "Dai, I have to go help Becky, I'll be back soon." she said through the door before running out of the house to Becky's house.

 

Akito's stomach tightened. "Because I have no other choice... I'm protecting her...!" He shouted. "If I don't kill you... Becky-chan will get hurt..." he felt tears roll down his cheeks. "So I have to do this... I'm trying to keep her from harm... something you could never do!" He charged at Kairuto with his swords ready.

Akari laughed. "Oh... I'm sorry... were you talking to someone?" she asked and smirked.

Becky clenched her fists and gasped for air as she fell down to her knees, feeling weaker every second.

Akari grinned. "You really should pay more attantion to your surroundings..." She said and laughed when she saw Becky collapse. She was surprised, though. She shouldn't even be concious right now... she thought.

 

Panzela banged on the door but when no one opened it she went in. "Becky!" she gasped, seeing her on the floor. She ran over to her, ignoring Akari except for flicking out her blades to be ready.
