"Oh, nothing..." she said, still smiling. "You just seem a bit upset..."

Becky walked into the library and started browsing through the shelves. What in the world is a Chiger, anyways...?! she thought.

 

"Why shouldn't I be? I bet you would love to be what I am. She's all you care about anyways." Dai retorted, tears lightly splashing on the floor.

Kairuto noticed Panzela but decided to just ignore her. Hm... I doubt they have anything on family history... He thought, scanning the shelves. He also kept an eye on Becky just in case.

 

Akari just stared at Dai. I guess I should cheer her up... she thought. "Dai... she's not the only thing I care about... I care about this whole family..." she said and put a hand on her shoulder, smiling. "I know it's rough having Megumi all the time... but some people just end up being unlucky sometimes... they always get through it somehow, though..."

Becky found a book labeled "Harnessing Your powers" and took it off of the shelf. She coughed as she blew off the dust and walked over to a table. She sat down and started flipping through the pages.

 

"...Do you really care...?" Dai asked sincerely. She looked at Akari, her eyes begging.

Kairuto sauntered to the 'H' section. I doubt I'll find anything, but I should still look.

 

"Of course I do!" Akari said and smiled. "Why wouldn't I care...?"

Becky stopped at a page and looked at it. So... I can use this book to help harness my powers...? she thought and stood up. I might as well give it a shot... she placed her hand on a certain spot in the book and closed her eyes, reciting a sort of "spell" in her head. She opened her eyes when the book suddenly started glowing. Huh...? she thought.

 

"Because no one else does...!" Dai found herself feeling lonely and vulnerable. "I just want to know that one person cares..."

Akari looked at her sadly. "Well I do care... really..." she said.

Becky shut her eyes tight as she felt a gust of wind come from nowhere and blow upwards, a seering pain rising up her arm. But she kept her hand firmly on the book.

 

OOC: ^^; mom and i are switching...

BIC: Kairuto looked towards Becky. What the-?! He noticed that none of the other people seemed to be able to see what was happening. It must be something only people with magic can see. He rushed to Becky's side and took her hand off the book. "What was that?!" He whispered.

"That really means a lot..." Dai said quietly.

 

Becky was breathing heavily. "I-I don't know..." she said, staring at the book. What just happened...?! she thought. I thought that was suppossed to harness my powers... She looked down at her arm. It ached. Did I do it right...? she thought.

Akari smiled. "I'm glad it does..." she said. "I don't like to see you upset..."

OOC- i gtg take a shower... I'll brb ^^

Kairuto looked around. "Go ahead and check that out. It might be useful."

Dai shook her head. "I- I've got something I need to do..." She went to her room. And not much time left.

OOC: yeah. either she's being nice or being evil and tricking dai! buahahaha! XP

"Well... alright then... se eya later..." she said and smiled, walking the opposite way down the hall.

Becky nodded and swallowed hard, trying to slow her breathing. "Okay..." she said and used her other arm to close the book. "Did you find what you were looking for...?" she asked Kairuto.

 

OOC: looks like i'm lost again, what's happening?

 

"Nah, but that's not important. I'm sure I can find it somewhere else." Kairuto said.

Dai shut her door and locked it. She knelt down and pulled a large book that she'd taken from her father's study out from under her bed. She sat cross legged on her bed. She checked her door again and even looked at her window. I gotta make sure that only one person knows what I'm doing.

 

"Well... alright..." Becky said and picked up the book, tucking it under one arm. She tried not to use the hand she had put on the book because it still hurt.

 

"And what would that be?" Megumi asked.

"I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough." Dai opened to a page near the end. "Hopefully, you won't be able to do anything by that time..." She muttered.

Kairuto walked with Becky to check out the book.

"Hey... Something's not right... We better check out the Hiwatari's place after this." Rei muttered.

Kairuto was taken back. "But you're still-"

"That doesn't matter. This doesn't feel like something we can leave unchecked." Rei said.

Kairuto sighed. "Got it."

 

Becky handed the book to the librarian and got it checked out, then she went back over to Kairuto. "All right... you ready to go?" she asked and smiled. I should probably get home... I want to see what's in this book... and my head still feels dizzy... she thought.

 

"Y-yeah. Let's go." Kairuto started walking towards the exit.

Dai read carefully read and reread the pages. I have to be sure that I don't make a single mistake.

 

Becky nodded and followed. him.

 

"Are you sure...? We can wait for a little bit, can't we?" Kairuto gazed at the clouds as the left the library.

"Alright. We'll compromise. We'll go tonight." Rei caved.

"That's not much of a compromise, but as long as you're feeling more up to it by then, it's fine." Kairuto put his hands behind his head.
