Will of Fire

"Whatever." Dai headed towards the library.

 

Panzela turned and followed her into the library. She went over to her usual section and found her favorite book. Sitting down at a table she half read, half watched Dai.

 

Dai sat with her back against a shelf. She reached above her head and grabbed a book from the shelf.

 

Panzela put the book back after awhile and found another. She sat down and began to read it.

 

Dai ran her hand along the spine of the book. It's so old... She opened to the first page. 'Dedicated to my daughter'... Dai smiled a bit at the dedication page.

 

Panzela smiled as the book went on.

 

Becky held Kairuto's hand. "Niisama... are you okay...?" she asked worridley.

 

Kairuto's eyes opened slowly. "Hey... you're okay..."

Dai put the book back. I'm not the daughter who should read this.

 

Panzela set down the book and glanced at Dai.

Dai sat still, waiting for a chance to get away.

"Yeah..." she said and smiled. For now, anyways... i don't know what effect using that much power will have... she thought, but she didn't say it out loud. "But you and Rei are okay... right, Niisama...?" she asked, hoping his awnser would be yes.

 

"He just needs some time..." Kairuto answered. "Right now he can barely talk..." He sat up. He knew what it would do. He's nuts...

 

Becky nodded. "As long as he didn't overdo it too much..." she said and hugged Kairuto. "I'm glad you're okay..." she said.

 

"Same here... We found out some stuff last night. Though, I'm not sure if it really matters now." Kairuto stood up and put a hand on the wall for support. "According to the records from previous Tamers, Megumi's Tamer, Dai-chan, has to be alive in order for Megumi to able to live. But with the scroll that Megumi stole a couple weeks ago, Dai-chan is obsolete. The thing is, Dai-chan probably doesn't know that. Once she's dead, Megumi's power won't be restrained and all kinds of stuff can happen. All Dai-chan knows is that she's needed as a container. If she tries..." Kairuto paused. "If she tries to kill herself, and succeeds, Megumi will be impossible to stop."

Becky's eyes widened. Kill herself...?! she thought. She wouldn't... would she...? And that power... with it... we wouldn't be able to beat her... Becky stood up. "I don't think she would kill herself... but either way... we have to do something before Megumi can..." she said to Kairuto. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain and dropped down to her knees, holding her stomach. Gosh... i really need to learn not to overdo it... she thought.

 

Kairuto knelt by Becky. "Hey, take it easy, okay? We'll have to wait awhile before we can do anything."

 

Panzela sighed and set her book back, "Well, are you going to do something or just sit her being bored?" she asked, tapping her fingers on the table.

 

"If you're bored go do something else." Dai said snidely. There's got to be a way I can get her to leave me alone. I need to do more research on that technique.

 

"I'm not an idiot, Dai. I'm just asking because your expression looks like a mixture of sad and bored." Panzela laughed, "So do whatever, unless it somehow would be important to your father, I'm not even here."

 

"Anything I do now will be of interest to my father..." Dai muttered. She's such a liar. She never cared about me. All she cares about is her job.
