Will of Fire

He grinned. "I'm sure she won't mind..." He said and winked. "Besides, it's not part of my job." However, he started to have concerns about that. She shouldn't even be at the dance... Akito thought.

 

Rei nodded slowly. "Don't worry too much, 'kay? It'll blow over."

Wizard hopped over to Rei's shoulder. "Kyuu?"

"Yeah, I'm sure." Rei rubbed Wizard's head.

 

"Alright, we'll just have to hope for the best." Panzela smiled at him, "What's she going to do if she does mind, anyway? It's a school dance." she laughed.

 

"Seriously..." He said and laughed as well.

Anthony started to wake up. He opened his eyes sleepily and looked up at Panzela and Akito.

"All right..." Becky said. "If you're sure..." She gave Rei a small smile, but she couldn't help but worry about him.

 

Panzela let go of Akito's hand, seeing Anthony wake up. "Hey, feel anybetter?" she asked, moving over to sit on the edge of his bed again.

 

Anthony yawned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He nodded and smiled. "Yup! I feel great!" He said in sign language. Then he noticed Akito. "Who is this?" He asked.

Akito smiled, but he couldn't understand Anthony.

 

"This is Akito. He's been helping us, actully." Panzela answered, outloud. She looked at Akito. "He uses sign langague. I'll translate though." she looked back at Anthony, smiling. "I'm so glad you feel better."

 

"I think he just needs some time to think." Rei excused Kairuto. "It has been rough. I haven't been doing a good job either."

 

Becky looked down.

Akito smiled. "Okay," He said. "Nice to meet you, Anthony," He said.

"Nice to meet you, too," Anthony said in sign language and smiled. He hugged Panzela tightly.

 

"Nice to meet you too." Panzela repeated in English for Akito, hugging Anthony back. "Your mom is taking a rest right now, but she'll be so glad to see you looking better."

 

Anthony nodded, not letting go of Panzela.

 

Panzela laughed, "Anthony, you'r crushing my ribs." she teased him, hugging him back gently.

 

"Nap time?" Wizard asked.

"Wiz, it's not even noon." Rei laughed a bit.

 

Anthony loosened his grip. "Sorry...." He said in sign lauguage and grinned.

Akito chuckled.

Becky smiled.

 

Panzela messed up his hair. "No problem. I guess you really are feeling better."

 

Rei looked at Becky. "He didn't mean what he said. I'm sure of it."

 

Becky looked away. "Yeah he did... I know he did. Every time I try to help, I end up getting in the way and causing more trouble for you two... I know he wants me to stay out of it now..." She said.

"Yup!" He said in sign language. "Hey, Panzela... Do you think you could teach me how to talk?!" He asked excitedly.

 

"There are... things that have to happen." Rei started slowly. "Eventually, I'll have to leave... and by then... one of my Tamer's family, my family, die. It's always been that way. And it's usually the one that involves them self the most."

 

"Sure I can. You already know what the words mean, you're half way there already. Why don't we start, oh... how about tomorrow. You still need to rest today." Panzela smiled at him. "Your mother wouldn't like it if you were worn out so soon after being cured."

 

Becky's eyes widened. So... If I get too involved... I could die? She thought and looked down. "It doesn't matter..." Becky said. "I still want to protect you both... No matter what..."

Akito couldn't help but chuckle.

"Aww... But I'm not even tired!" He said in sign language. "I'm full of energy!" He grinned.
