Will of Fire

He pointed down. "Under the sand... Didn't you even try digging around?" He asked and smirked.

 

Panzela frowned. "Oh... well, thanks. Do you mind if I take that one, it's kind of urgent I have one." she explained, not knowing that he already knew her reason for wanting one.

 

Akito shrugged. "Sure," He said and tossed her the fruit, smiling. "Just don't tell Akari, okay?" He said and winked before running off.

 

Panzela watched him go skeptically, "Right..." she held onto the fruit and started to run back to Anthony's house. please work!

 

Akito grinned. This should be interesting... He thought as he followed her back to Anthony's house.

Anthony was lying on his bed, unconcious. His mom had put a damp washcloth on his head to cool the fever, and she was standing by his bed worriedly. Please hurry, Panzela... She thought.

 

Panzela ran into the house and down to Anthony's room. "I got the fruit." she told her aunt, holding it out for her. "I think it will cure him... do you think we can wake him up enough to eat some of it?"

OOC: going to bed. 'later Destiny!

Anthony's mom nodded and took the fruit. "Thank you so much, Panzela!" She said and embraced her. Then she looked back at Anthony. "Yes, we should be able to wake him up long enough for him to eat a bit of it..." She gently shook Anthony to wake him up. "Anthony, wake up..." She said as he opened his eyes.

 

Dai paced her room, arms folded.

"Worrying about that little rat?" Megumi asked, not really caring at all.

"Shut up." Dai snapped. "Wiz is not a rat."

 

Panzela stood by him as well. "Anthony, we think we have a cure for you. Do you think you can eat alittle?" she asked, gently.

 

Anthony nodded. "I think so..." He said in sign language. His mother handed him the starfruit. "Here... Just eat a little bit of it. It should help you get better," She said and he took a small bite of the fruit.

Becky flopped back on her bed.

 

"Your being very strong." Panzela assured him, sitting on the edge of the bed. "You'll be better soon."

 

Anthony smiled. His mother had him lay back down. She felt his forehead, concerned. The fever hadn't gone down yet, but she couldn't expect it to work right away. "How are you feeling?" She asked him. What happened next completely shocked her. Anthony started to somewhat speak. "B-" Was all he was able to say of the word "better", but it was enough to surprise both of them. Anthony's eyes went wide.

 

Panzela's hand shot to her mouth. "Gods..." she whispered, in shock.

 

Anthony sat up. How... But... I... What's going on?! His eyes were wide open and he was frozen in shock, almost trembling at the sound of his voice. I-I actually heard it... I heard my voice!

 

"Anthony, did you just say something?" Panzela asked, queitly, still shocked.

 

Anthony brought his hands up. "I don't know..." He said in sign language, still completely shocked. "I think I heard something..."

 

"Anthony, you did say something!" Panzela said, trying to stay calm but still, excited.

 

Anthony's look of shock slowly started to turn into a grin as he became excited. I DID say something! I actually spoke! He thought. His mother smiled and wiped away a tear that ran down her cheek.

 

Panzela squeezed Anthony's hand tightly for a second. "Oh, Gods be thanked." she said, happily. "Anthony, that was amazing!"

 

"How in the world did I do that?!" He said excitedly in sign language. "Maybe my condition wasn't completely permenant!" He grinned, happy that he had spoken, at least a little bit. However, whatever it was that Akari had done to him was still there, and he suddenly fell over, his mother catching him. She looked at him worriedly. "He's still sick... We'll have to save this discussion for later..." She said softly, stroking his hair. However, both of them were really excited inside.
