Why Nintendo is genius

I don't think anyone ever said it was original. I can understand if someone said something in the the game was original, but the series itself is not. It's pretty much the same with any series.

Needs MM, but i know you dislike Zelda.

 

Well, considering the point I was trying to make was that Nintendo only made a couple of franchises and then milked them for all theirs worth.

I don't dislike Zelda D: I actually quite enjoyed Twilight Princess, and most of the games have some pretty great soundtracks, but I don't see them as the best thing ever. Y'know? I have nothing against Zelda as a whole tbh.

Why shouldn't they? The games sell and the fans enjoy them. It'd make no sense for them not to take full advantage of their most popular series.

I played all the Zelda games and I' m quite happy they didn' t change the basic concept too much (find object 1, use it to clear dungeon 1 and find object 2 etc ...), it' s refreshing to know that the game title isn' t lying about what I' m about to buy (Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill SM, FFXIII anyone ?).
However I can' t stand the wiimote, I think I' ll skip Skyward Sword. Than you so much Nintendo for never making any big tittles compatible with the classic pad, why did you even bother to sell such a thing ? Oh wait ...
I' d like to see Nintendo forget the crappy control toys, that' s just a colossal waste of both our time and theirs. The problem is that Nintendo IS a toy maker. They never intended to target their main games at a growing audience, they always aimed kids first and foremost.

Because if KH2 was a rehash of KH then I might have actually liked it.

Sersiously though, KH2 has quite a bit of changes from KH1, it had a different story for one which had a completely different feel, it had a new cast of villains, the core gameplay was changed as to make the game more casual and more button-mashy, you played as a new character for a while, the commando system was extremely different from the first game, etc. It didn't feel like it was the same game I played a couple of years before I played it, which was a bad thing imo. There's also the fact that KH went KH, then KH:CoM (which was an entirely different game) and then KH2, so it wouldn't be that bad to have it a rehash when the formula had barely been used. I expected Nintendo to use the same formula for a good three games, but after that it gets a bit redundant.

 

But...you can say the same thing about many Nintendo games. I'll take OOT and MM again. COMPLETELY new story that gave it a much more foreboding feeling, obviously new villains, core gameplay changed to revolve around time and masks and generally be much more difficult, you play as 4 characters, Mask system was different from OOT, etc. It didn't feel like OOT at all to me. And I'm being serious. I could basically call everything you said "Bells and whistles" like you keep calling new features in Nintendo games, but that's not what they are. I think you're being a little bit unfair here.

 

I already stated that MM was an exception. ... Yup.

 

You can say the same thing about so many Nintendo games though. I mean seriously just look at Zelda and Zelda II
