Or you can do the smart thing and use magic until you only have a milimeter left in your bar, then heal. Then you can elixer. Rinse and repeat.

Myself,sometimes i use Cure on party members,in KH2 only if they're near me,and in KH1,well,Donald doesn't let any get to critical health.

 

Triangle: Fire/Thunder/Blizzard
Square:Reflect/Magnet
X:Cure
Circle: item (usually potion/hi-potion/ether)

i dont really use many items aside from potion ether and hi potion for in-battle items

 

Triangle: Reflega
Circle: Curaga
X: Elixir/Healing item
Square: Thundaga

I arrange mine weirdly compared to everyone else, don't I? T.T

Triangle: Curaga
Square:Item (Elixir, Hi-Potion, etc.)
O:Thundaga
X:Reflectga

 

X = Curaga.
I don't remember the rest.

Triangle: Whatever Item I need, I change it before battles. It's usually Potions, though.
Circle: Reflega
Square: Any spell except Curaga or Reflega. This too changes according to what I need quick access to.
X: Curaga

 

triangle= block
circle=dark aura
square=dark potion
X=attack. cheat codes involved

 

X= Blizzard, my favourite
Square= Thunder
Circle= Any other magic, except Cure I don't use
Triangle= Hi-Potion

 

With Cheat codes my commands are Rising Sun,Wild Dance,Judgment and Holy,but i didn't mention that did i?

triangle=firaga
circle=reflega
square=magnega
X=megaelixir
draw enemies near with magnega, then firaga, or if they're fast reflega, i got 160mp anyway, so i dont need megaelixir
