    Do graphic novels count?

Cause if so, the one and only book that actually had me hooked is Watchmen, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. It beats every other story I've read so far, and the images take away the needless 2 or so pages of simply describing settings and such.

And about Twilight...well, I hate it honestly. I tried reading the first book, but had to stop at the restaurant when Bella kept saying how perfect Edward was. It's so...juvenile I guess.

The "His Dark Materials" Trilogy by Philip Pullman is definitely up there in my all time favorites category.

To be honest, I've read so much over the years that it's hard for me to choose...

The Harry Potter series will also of course always hold a special place in my heart. I've reread those books so many times it's not even funny :xp:

Hm what else... I also really liked "P.S. I Love You" and right now I'm reading "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold which is reeeeeeeeally good.

There are tons more that I like, but I can't think of them right now hahah

Hmmm, I really enjoyed the Protector of the Small series by Tamora Pierce. It was a really fluffy series, but I still enjoyed it. Otherwise, I really liked the Witch of Blackbird Pond and for manga I like Nightmare Inspector.

The only 'adventure' part is as if it was added as a last minute thing for the book to actually have a plot and climax.

    Favorite Book?

Oh, lord, so many books to choose and so little time! :bored:

Um, well, it's more like a whole series (and there SEVERAL book series that I love! XD), but even then it's hard to narrow it down. T__T

But my Top 3 Favorite Series are DEFINITELY, without a doubt:

    1: Warriors by Erin Hunter
    2. Pendragon by D.J. MacHale
    3. The Black Stallion by Walter Farley

    A Child Called "It".

Very good book. Mainly talks about the life of a boy that is abused by his mother. There are two other books dealing with the same story but those involve when he moves away from his mother and is put in a foster home.

No, it's not called something else. The first book is called The Golden Compass, the second is The Subtle Knife, and the third is The Amber Spyglass. Together they make up His Dark Materials, a trilogy made of pure awesome. Definitely one of my favorite trilogies of all time, second only to the A Great and Terrible Beauty trilogy.

And yeah, the movie was suuuuper disappointing. They had all the makings of something epic: great cast, awesome effects, amazing book to base it on. But then they went and cut all the actual important/interesting parts out and screwed the whole thing up. The movie didn't even end at where book one ends, they cut it short so it could be a happy-happy-la-la-la-everything's-wonderful-now ending, which it totally is NOT. Gah it could have been sooooo good... damn them >_<
