What are your viewpoints on abortion?

Hello my Kismesi, moirails and various trollites. I am interested in your viewpoints on abortion.

Personally, while there is something inherently repulsive about the idea of killing unborn children, I lean towards being for abortion, as the time for me to be aborted has already passed, and it could prove to be a useful tool to me in future.

Morally, one can justify it in many ways, or condemn it just as rigorously.

So, let's have your opinions.

Is it justified in the case of rape?

Is it justified in the case of it being potentially fatal?

How about in the case of incest?

No. Although the woman did not give consent, the act did occur and the baby was conceived. In the case of rape, more effort should go towards ending the problem (although it'll never be 100% eradicated) and helping the victims get through it. In fact, I think the best rape therapy is that which converts the depression to anger or motivation. With proper therapy, the child can go from a living reminder that the woman was raped to a living reminder that she was able to get through the pain and stress of it all. And if all else fails, adoption says hi!

If it could be fatal, it's definitely justified. That's why I don't think it should be totally illegal.

Not exactly. Whereas Angle claims that the bad thing can be made into a good thing, I'm saying that the result of the bad thing doesn't have to be a bad thing in the first place. Additionally, Angle says that abortion needs to be illegal, whereas I say that it needs to be discouraged to the point where it's only feasible in the case of something life threatening. I even tried (and failed) to get a law stating that abortion clinics must have the necessary facilities to allow actual birth in addition to abortion passed. By extension, this would also require serial killers abortion specialists to be licensed in childbirth as well as murder abortion.

Then again, this is all coing from a guy who thinks it's a good idea to coat bullets with antivenom so soldiers in venomous snake ridden areas can inject it as quickly as possible.

I believe abortion is horribly wrong in the sense that it's murder of a human generation. (The child could go on to have kids that will have kids, etc.) If you "do it" and get pregnant by accident, suck it up and have the baby. If you won't love it, then yes, adoption will put the child in the correct place. There is no need to kill the child.

In the case of rape, I agree with what Jet.User said.

In case of being fatal, yes, it could be justified. Why lose the baby AND the mother? If one can live with one decision, make that decision.

In case of incest, they did it anyway. It's their fault. Like I said before, suck it up and have the baby. You got pregnant.

 

I can't wait for something involving abortion to come around and threaten to majorly screw up your life. Just for ironic karmic payback.

That's like saying that because it's illegal for me to drink alcohol, it's illegal for me to throw up nonstop in toilet the next morning.Or that it's illegal for me to go to the hospital because I was drving while over the legal limit.
