Nope, CRTs supposedly give better pictures than many HDTVs (I think LCDs in particular?), the problem is that they're too big and clunky to get with large screen sizes. Plus it's dependent upon the SD/HD factor, anyway.

I would hope that an HD collection would be a little more... well done than this, lol. See, these look just stretched out (because there are ololol). I can achieve a similar effect by just changing my TV's display mode.

The pictures on the bottom would be what the HD Collection would look like. They may update the textures, but for the most part, that's what it will look like.

Oh I know, but the PS2's native resolution was, I believe, 720x480. It wasn't meant to be widescreen. So really, it should look like this:

These just stretch the width and not the height, losing the proper proportion. Therefore, everything looks kind of short and chubby. Maintaining the proportion would probably take a lot of work and, if we even get them, what you posted is probably what it will look like. But it bothers me.

Now you put that new picture up, I can clearly see how much it's stretched. So it will look like the one you posted, but with a wider viewing area.

Right right, yes, that's what it needs! Wasn't quite sure how to phrase it.

It's like people have been saying. On HDTVs, the picture is stretched, however, the higher resolution pictures don't have so many "jaggies", which the PS2 version does have. HD remakes just improves that aliasing and give you more field of view without stretching.

Played KH2 on my 20 inch HD TV yesterday and wanted to shoot my self. I was like no way did it look this ****** 5 years ago. And that is my contribution to this thread.

Everything looked amazing when we were kids. I can't explain it. I remember when I thought Call of Duty 2 had the most lifelike graphics ever.

Now that you mention it, you're right. I remember I used to get scared just watching my brother play Majora's Mask cause that **** looked real to me and I thought all of the bosses would come out of the screen and kill me.

I really like not being spoiled. Maybe it is just me, but I never have to deal with feeling like graphics are bad. I have always felt like I was playing the game when it was the cutting edge, every time I play it. Same with using old computers, I never feel like they are slow. Instead, I feel like the newer ones are really fast. It might have something to do with how much control I have over my emotions, I don't know. But I'm glad for it.
