That's what we mostly use, if we were to lose them we would be screwed. Mediafire and Fileserve are the two I care most about, but Megaupload was great for many years.

 

You don't have backups on other host sites?

@Saxy Well it might be harder for them to take down youtube, but in all actuality they could take down the entire internet if they wanted(through this mindset). I'm sure that'll go over well..

 

I don't think we have mirrors, but I know a lot of the staff (and members) have the videos downloaded so it wouldn't be that hard to reupload them.

 

I thoroughly believe that it's impossible to take down all of the internet, for it doesn't just exist in America, it's international application, hence it's name World Wide Web. The US government, of course, can censor it, like they're wanting to do now, but there will always be backdoors.​

Make sure someone has them all downloaded. It'd be a pain to lose them.

I'm pretty damn sure that the majority of piracy happens in Europe rather than the US. The US is in the stone age when it comes to the digital world compared to Europe. (Internet speed, piracy acceptance, etc.)

 

/taking backdoor to Canada

For the moment it's just the group of idiots in Congress, but they've managed to make enough stir to have this happen(think if they actually got everyone to agree...gawd). What this could do though is cause allot of offshore companies to block themselves(or whatever the term) from being used in the US, for fear of being prosecuted.

As long as they don't take down MediaFire, I am fine.

 

Just found out.....right now I'm freaked if this will happen to any other website like YouTube or my dear MediaFire (because I know that there are tons of full length films on YouTube). I never really actually used Megaupload, I only ever used it once (thanks KHV~), but man....I'm freaked.

Always used torrents but this is still BS.

 

Good thing I never used Megaupload or anything like it. And even on Mediafire the only thing that's on there are some random things I believe....I just hope that PIPA bill doesn't pass. If it does, I think a lot of us that make AMVs are headed to jail for a good while
