You're kidding me! And they actually tried to remove copyright material (Even though they weren't all that great at it).

 

Not really. Hosting pirated material has never been legal. Even though I don't think it should be illegal, because it is and Megaupload hosted them at their own servers they were subject to legal action.

 

Nor is your teacher bringing in Back to the Future for the whole class to watch.
The fact that they're actually DOING something about it is what's shocking and scary.

Two Incomparable things. One provides to the entire world while the other provides something for a very select group in a closed community.
