OMFG--I want to be a video game tester when I grow up since it's only just testing video games all day long. It's almost like Heaven for me.

I'd rather make a game. More money in it for me I think.

25k is enough for one person, but not to raise a family on. Also, testing video games is incredibly crappy. You're aren't getting paid to play them for fun, you're getting paid to look for bugs. And it's a lot. And it's often. And it's boring.

i mean like, yeah. if you are a single person living by yourself, it's a lot. but if you are married and have kids, it's pretty low. either way, $25,000 and living by yourself is incredibly miniscule as well.

but anywayyy, my dad works at a prison and is a retired marine. and my mom has some crappy job that doesn't pay much more than what you would get working on micky d's.

Only since $20 an hour was minimum wage.

Also, it's a lot of work and a lot of repetition. You play through a level, make note of any bugs that you find, then play through it again in a different way, make note of any bugs that you find, then play through it again in yet another different way, make note of any bugs that you find, then continue doing that until your boss is satisfied that you've found every bug there is to be found. Then you do it again with a different level. Sometimes you don't even get paid. There's a thing called a "public beta" now, which is basically where a game gets released early so people can test for no cost to the company that made it. If you want, you can be a video game tester, but you won't get paid and you won't feel any sense of fulfillment doing it.
