Unlucky with DS Lite chargers

So I just went through my 4th DS Lite AC Charger. I am really unlucky with these things in hotels. I've lost 3 of them in hotels while on vacations, and this one was just cut by me folding up the couch bed. Really hoping my parents will help with a new one, because I don't have any money for it

While it may possibly be unluckiness, I'm going to with absent-minded.
I'm one of the clumsiest people I know, very prone to lose things, and yet haven't lost my DS Lite Charger in the 6 years that I've had it :/

 

Or you know, it could be the work of DS Lite Charger Assassins.

Actually, I think the biggest concern is if my mom does decide to buy another one for me, and she ends up buying the wrong kind of charger.
And I'm calling it unlucky, because I even made sure the wire was on the table, but when I folded the bed, I saw the wire being squished. It was so unfair. I even said my mom could give me less for my birthday if she did

 

Does that bed have razorblades in it? O.o
