No, I see it, but your apparent inability to answer my question and instead jumping to try to deface me says a lot about you. I see how "oh so mature" you are now.

Dullahans are from Celtic mythology, not Norse.

It was a rhetorical question, was it not? It appears not. I will answer.

Give it up to intuition. I am predicting that if people were forced to vote on whether they thought this thread represented My Little Pony well or not, they would vote it down almost unanimously. Records show that I am usually right about these things; I am considered a good judge of quality. A rule of thumb might be to avoid using the word 'brony'. It makes you look bad almost every time that you utter it. Do you still challenge me?

"Yggdrasil is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson."
    ~ Wikipedia

I found this name rather revealing. He is of Icelandic origin.

When Izaya talks about the Valkyries who are to take great warriors to Valhalla, he links them to Dullahans and suggests that they could be the same thing. That is Norse mythology if I ever knew of it.
    No connection? How annoying.

Ah. Well I do guess it would make sense that the Dullahan concept carried over to the Celts from Norse concept of the Valkyrie. Nevertheless, I still assert that Celty is based on the Celtic version of the creature, not the Norse. After all, she was in Ireland when she started her adventure.

Explicitly stated cannon beats your head cannon every day. Location is irrelevant to the existence of said creatures if they exist.

So, your reasoning for believing that this is a bad representation of the fan-base or the show comes down to "Because I said so"? You're even more fallacious then I even assumed at first. How egotistical could one person be? That was rhetorical. I'm done here, because you can't debate someone whose reasoning for believing something is because he believes it.

But Izaya never specifically says that the Valkyries and Dullahans are the same, only that he thinks they could be. All that we can say as far as explicitly stated canon is that Celty is a Dullahan and that Izaya has said that he believes a Dullahan may be the same thing as a Valkyrie. Other than the TVTropes WMG page, there is nothing saying that Izaya is right about this. There's even evidence to suggest that he is not, namely that Valkyries are strictly female while Dullahans are shown in Celtic mythology to have both sexes in their numbers.

We could make the poll, if you want.

I do not believe it, nor do I know it. However, it feels the most correct to me. What feels correct me to is based on my intuition and knowledge of what has been correct in the past. My mind picks up on the pattern. What annoys me annoys others. My egotism is earned to some degree. If I am being fallacious than you are not even arguing. This is a summary of what happened.

Makaze: This thread represents My Little Pony badly.
Xeitr: Why do you you? I do not think it does.
Makaze: Do you see the distortion in your avatar? You are not a very good judge of quality, are you?
Xeitr: You jumped to how good of a judge I was and did not answer, therefore you are immature.
Makaze: I did not know I was supposed to. I will answer, then. I say so because it annoys me, and what annoys me has a track record of annoying many others.
Xeitr: You are egotistical and fallacious and I refuse to speak of it anymore.

By failing to present counterarguments other than attacks on me, you are worse off than I am. I suggest learning some etiquette before trying again.

Are you still denying the connection between the names, or am I missing something? It seems like a strong enough connection to be intentional, and if it is intentional then there are strong arguments for both sides. Do you disagree?

What you're missing is that I had completely forgotten about the connection between the names. I doubt it's coincidence, but I also don't think it means much. Celty represents her base in Celtic mythology (shut up, I know the word Celtic uses a hard C) and Sturluson represents the fact that there are some notable parallels between her and the Norse Valkyries.

Or maybe Celty Sturluson is descended from Snorri Sturluson, who was himself a Dullahan, thus the names matching up. Snorri happened to be very involved with Valkyrie society, which is why he is known for writing about them. But at this point, all I can say is that the only plausible theory is the one above. This here just another WMG.

We are in agreement so long as you admit the roots on both sides.

    I had to ask... -_-
This doesn't make it look bad. If anything, it makes it look good because this spreads word to fans of things other than my little pony and implies that it's a good show. If I saw sonic running around in this show I'd like that, and I wouldn't take it as an insult. You seriously need to think about the personal feelings of the people on this forum when you argue a dubious point like this.

One of my english class vocabulary words lol

I wouldn't compare this to a porn thread. Those are taken down because they're obviously not pg-13 or below. MLP is very much G-rated...with the exclusion of "Cupcakes". Second, I know you're just being yourself and like to debate and troll a bit. I actually like the way you do it too, not too insulting and obvious, yet you still get your point across. I'm sure you love annoying people, so do I. Bronies are an undeniable fact of life these days. Gotta say, 6 months ago I would've been with you taunting them. But unfortunately, I became one. I just happen to still get a kick outta people who troll and more of one outta the reactions. Keep it up Makaze!

    Ok.

Can someone do an ignorant non-brony swine a huge favor? I've been meaning to ask this.

Why do all these goddamn baby girl ponies have tramp stamps

Funny you should mention Sonic. I hate that fandom as well. It is another series that annoys me nearly every time I see someone use a gif or other image from it in their set. I would be more than insulted if Sonic appeared in MLP; I would be so angry you would not believe.

It makes it look bad, take my word for it. Even among most fans on the site, this thread was not worth responding to. I was one who did, and it was negative. To those who were not fans, they will get annoyed with each use of the word 'brony' and subsequently anything to do with the fandom. The more you talk about it and spread it around regardless of replies, the more annoying it is. Would you call that 'good'?

I like the series, do not get me wrong. I just hate pony threads, and more specifically, 'brony' threads. There is a difference.

I can compare them because there are still things that are taken seriously, like the rules. I live by my own rules. One of those rules is 'do not post things that annoy more people than they please'. These threads annoy all but three or four members; the main examples being shidonic, axel91 and Ventus108.

Oh, good question. Those are called Cutie Marks. A pony gets his or her cutie mark when they find their place in the world. They usually get them at a young age. A pony's cutie mark is something that reflects their identity. For example, Rainbow Dash has a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt coming out of it on her flank, and her place in the world is becoming one of the fliers in the land. Pinkie Pie has balloons on her flank, and she is the life of the party and is extremely fun-loving. Twilight Sparkle has sparkles of magic on her flank, and she is a powerful magic user. And so on.

You do not see anyone joining in on your circle jerk, either. Hm?
