Well if you're going to argue by using God, then what about the ten commandments?
Killing someone is a mortal sin and you're saying that it's perfectly all right to rape and murder somebody, but just rape is unforgivable.

I need a way that will actually work. Though if you have any spare assassins I can borrow, I'm cool with that.

@Stardust: FYI, there are 612 Commandments, and the punishments for breaking them are, at least in my opinion, invalid.

What? How will the obliteration of the world's entire population through some form of weapon used from orbit or nearby space not work?

    612 in the Bible canon?
    That's all I'm talking about.

Also, I mean no disrespect by arguing with you about something like this, I just disagree. I think murder and rape are both terrible and should be punished harshly, and I think the two combined should be punished more strongly than just one or the other.

They're different. Not only are they murderers, they've also given a bad name to Islam, one of my two sister religions. That one extremist group has condemned at least a third of the world's population to hate, prejudice, and dirty looks. As such, they must be ended by whatever means necessary.

@Stardust: Yes, 612. A good Jew (at least to my knowledge of Judaism), is supposed to have them memorized by his 12th birthday or her 13th birthday. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, it's been a while since I studied Judaism.

And I don't take any offense from you stating your opinion. It actually makes me respect you even more for having the guts to say it despite the possibility that I'll take it offensively.

Doesn't half eight-tenths of human history involve hate and prejudice?

I just wanted to use the Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking trope. And that's precisely why we need to fix the world.

@Wolfie: China has started to improve. I recently talked with someone from China and they don't block any search results about the Tianenmen (sp?) Square incident anymore. And I didn't know they had that picture in color!

Okay, well, my point still stands as long as 'Thou shall not kill' is still a Commandment. If you want to bring religion into it, murder is just as much of a sin as rape.

However looking at it from a legal standpoint, would you feel comfortable in a world where murderers got to run around free even if rapists were condemned to death or life in prison? More than that, though, would you feel comfortable in a world where rapists who also committed murder got to run around free?

    No. In my perfect world:
Rape=Death, preferably by one of your rape victims.
    Murder=A living death in prison.

@Wolfie: Well they have. They've begun to slowly transition to Capitalism. With any luck, they'll have a mixed economy like the US by the end of the century.

And that's precisely why you're not in control of the world.
    Nor will you ever be.

So rapists get to be 'put out of their misery' right off the bat for causing so much suffering, as you say,
But murderers have to sit around in prison all their life?

I personally find that a little backwards for your argument, actually. After all, you say if someone is murdered, they won't suffer as much. But if someone has to live with the guilt of what they'd done in a prison their entire life?

    Sounds worse to me.
