    That's a surprisingly accurate description.

SO I WILL MAKE MY OWN

AND THE ONLY WAY THE DOG CAN DIE IS IF HE IS SHOWN THE SCENE IN D.GRAY-MAN WHERE NOAH!ALLEN DECLARES HIMSELF THE MILLENIUM EARL'S USURPER

and i'll have blackjack and hookers

I propose that this is Schroedinger's fort. Therefore, I will cease to observe the fort, allowing it to both be destroyed and still standing simultaneously. At that point, I will shoot a laser in the general direction of the dog.

If that's not how it works, please back up your claim by correcting me. I'm okay with being wrong just as long as I know why I'm wrong.

You got it wrong by saying that the dog ceases to exist and simultaneously exists at the same time just because you stopped looking at it. Schrodinger's cat works on the basis that until "the box is open", there is no way to determine the state of whatever is being observed. By already seeing the dog, you already know of its condition. Now if you were to put a box over the fort and shoot said box with a bullet then you wouldn't know of the dog's state, thus allowing the dog to be both alive and dead at the same time until the box was removed, allowing you to know the truth.
