Ah, the good old era of the nicknames.

I've always wondered where it got its nickname of Uncle Sam, and now I know.

Also, what's this about a Panama transfer?

This Day in History- September 8th

That was when the Government of Panama wanted the right to control the Panama Canal. Since it's creation, it had always been controlled by the United States.

Hello folks, 'tis September 8th. So enjoy today!

    More war stuff, of course.

However, out of the wars for Sep. 8th, I find the Bloody Battle War to be the more interesting one.
I do hope, though, that it wasn't named that because of a lot of casualties. =/

If not, where did the name come from?

Oddly enough, it's always nice to hear of a newborn baby.

What I do find interesting, though, and am curious about, is that they switched hostesses.

The end also interested me, especially because a woman made history.

I always knew that gunshots, obviously, hurt, but I never would guess that they could cause an infection, but I guess it can happen.

On top of that, it happened to a president of all things, which, of course, is always sad.

It's always nice to hear when bad guys get arrested.

On top of that, it's always nice to hear music that gets recognized.

It's always nice to see when protests are made -- unless, of course, they head in the wrong direction.

Another story that interested me was the murder in Illinois, because it's always sad when a murder occurs.

    Hey, some civil war stuff.

Anyway, that's just sad. Like it says, it was the bloodiest battle in America's history, and that's always sad.

It looks like Abraham was still alive back then. It is, however, unfortunate that he was assassinated sometime later.
