EDIT: This is now a single thread with each day in it. So if this interests you, please check up ever so often.

I will usually get to it around 10 AM - 5 PM Eastern Time. (If I by chance miss that day, Amaury will take care of it for me.)

    Thank you, and enjoy.

Thought this would be fun, so i'll try to do it everyday. I personally think it's interesting to see what happened each day in history.

Lying about finding live forms on the moon is just low, in my opinion.

Also, according to my mom, the world was supposed to end in 1984 (basically, the silly 2012 end of the world thing there is now), but, hey, look! We're alive.

I agree with the lying about life forms, but it's understandable too. I mean, it's certainly not right, but at a time when discoveries of that magnitude could get you easily rich and world-renowned? You can't blame the guy for at least trying, but yeah, it was wrong.

Also, my brother was born on a day that is the anniversary of the Liberation of Paris.
I am now going to forever say "Vive le people!" to him on this day.

on this day I looked at this thread and didn't care about too much.
But seriously, I guess I can understand about people lying about life on the moon. What scientist wouldn't want to do all they can to see it? It was probably hilarious for some people

Mind you it was in 1835; way before planes, space shuttles, and even cars. So clearly people are gonna assume it was a hoax. Just throwing that out there...

Wow, I can't believe how long baseball has been around.

Also, it appears that World War was going on during August.

    More history, please!

I completely forgot the Democratic Convention riots anniversary was today. o:

We talked about it in AP US History quite a bit this year (even went to a conference on Vietnam in mid April). It's interesting to see that while it's certainly not at the same magnitude as it was then, protesting still has this intense feeling to it. Especially the ones we hear about overseas in Egypt and such.

Hahaa thanks Daxa, i will try.

The idea had actually came to mind due to my 10th grade teacher. (3 years ago) He would start off every morning with "Today in History" powerpoint consisting of usually 2-3 slides. I found it fascinating and decided to do something like that here!

(A lot of the events are of American culture. So i do appologize. But then again, you other amazing people in other amazing countries may find this more interesting... i dunno.)

Wow, it's amazing to see how many life-changing events have happened in our history, and that not all of them were centuries away...

    Ah, the history of volcanoes.

To be honest, I've always enjoyed "watching" volcanoes, especially after watching Volcano and Volcano 2 (I believe that's what they were called).

Also, more war stuff, of course.

Wait wat, I never heard of this. .___.
I guess this qualifies as yet another "Thing My History Teacher Never Told Me"

But to be serious, i will look this up because I always thought that Washington himself never lost a battle, but I guess that was wrong. ._.

    And that went well derp.
I did an English project on the history of Japan in 7th grade. I don't think I ever really read up on this, so I will check this out too.

Even though it is pretty much a guaranteed failure.

Yeah i actually remember hearing about this volcanic eruption, but i don't remember when. I had forgotten the date... but now i remember.

It is soo interesting that such an explosion could be heard 3,000 miles away!

And I think its interesting that Romania entered WW1 on this day...I shall randomly say that in History now.
    Thanks once again Llave. :3

I was sure that Washington lost many battles, but that when he finally won one he did not stop? If I remember my history correctly...
