358/2 Days There might be hope for a PS2 Release also...

The reason why I say this is because I've seen a lot of DS games come out on PS2, too.
For example: the last Harry Potter game came out on both systems. I was shopping and I saw that, and I started thinking: well, wouldn't be possible for them to come out with KH 358/2 Days on DS and PS2?
I still doubt it though, considering Nomura did say that KH2 Final Mix + was his last game on PS2.
What do you guys think?

 

Isn't the Harry Potter games based upon movies, and being so popular it is it would be available for every single concole/handheld in the first place? (with the exception of that quidditch game or whatever) I have a feeling the hope is slim concerning these new KH games.

 

Are the Harry Potter games really that popular? O.o I used to play games based on movies and every one I played absolutely sucked. I don't know about the Harry Potter games because I've never played them.
My point is that it is possible for the same game to be released on both the DS and PS2. Wouldn't Square make more profit if they released the same game on these two different platforms? I know people who own a DS would enjoy having the game on-the-go. For those who don't own a DS but do own a PS2, they could play the game on that consle instead of having to buy a DS. Either way, Square would make money.

 

If the movie= popular then the games sell...

 

Movie-based games are an entirely different concept. Most movie-based games are simple, cheaply-done multi-platform games to cater to the fans of the movie. Just about every movie-based game comes out on more than one console.

Kingdom Hearts, on the other hand, has no reason to be released on another platform. I think a lot of the fans still need to come to grips with the fact that the PS2 is dead -- Sony's not mass-producing them anymore, and they'll be out of production soon enough. It would be stupid to release a game on a dead console.

 

Well looks like I'll end up getting a PS3 sooner or later.

I can see what you mean here. Square's been around long enough to know when a game release should be released on what system.

Whatever system, I'm looking forward to this game.

 

Well like the others said, Harry Potter is a famous series and would always end up on consoles like PS2.

I'd still have to get a DS for this game, but meh. Ah well.

Besides, SE doesn't usually release games on several different platforms. They stick to one for each game.

Seriously, why did you post this...? It has no relevance to KH what-so-ever. Right now nobody cares if it comes out for PS2. Also: Your Harry Potter claim was seriously ******ed... It is based on a movie, it's going to be on every console...

AND this thread does have to do with Kingdom Hearts because it concerns Square Enix's profits from the games, which is a big deal concerning which consle the games come out on. And you are seriously mistaken that people don't care about a PS2 release. If you haven't noticed, there are many KH fans on this site that still hope for a PS2 release. Many people don't want to buy more new consles or can't afford to.
I was interested when I went shopping to see that a DS game could be converted into a PS2 game. Is that really so "retarted?"

It would be sweet if the game came out on PS2 as well, but in all honesty, I don't see it happening. It would be nice if it did because I'd save money instead of having to buy a DS for one game, but it just seems like it's not going to happen.

 

well since i have a DS i wont need 358/2 days for ps2 my problem is more BBS

 

I don't think 358/2 Days will be on PS2. But I have to wonder what the sequel to KH2 will be on.

 

I don't think it SHOULD be released for the ps2. It'll lower the wowness of the DS having KH overall. I mean, having it for one system keeps the sells high and besides, it won't be interesting to have it on the same system over and over...
